Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. We learn about Mog and his backstory in Oerba, but the gates to all of Oerba's time periods are not in the main story. Using a wild artefact, you can get to Oerba 400 AF by traveling from where and when?

Answer: Oerba 300 AF

You will need a wild artefact to open a gate in Oerba 300 AF. This gate will take you to 400 AF. In 400 AF, you can find Raspatil and earn 100% completion on your map.
2. The "Royal Ripeness", is the result of a paradox effect that occurred where? (Hint: the paradox effect used a vortex to transform miniature flan FROM a specific location. What was the location that the flan were being warped from?)

Answer: Archylte Steppe

The enormous flan "Royal Ripeness", is the result of a paradox effect. The Faeryl from Archylte Steppe Year Unknown was consuming mini flan and warping them to the Sunleth Waterscape. There they formed the enormous beast. The paradox started with the Faeryl, not the flan.
3. There is a paradox ending for all of these locations except for which?

Answer: Vile Peaks 200 AF

There are eight paradox endings, plus one secret ending. These are in addition to the original ending. In Academia, you can view a paradox ending with Snow. In Oerba, there is an ending with Caius, and in Bresha Ruins, there is an ending with Atlas. There are no paradox endings in the Vile Peaks.
4. Obtaining fragments from boss battles and powerful enemies will put these fragments in the category "Best of the Bestiary".

Answer: True

These fragments can mostly be obtained from the story, but some of the ones must be obtained thought optional missions. For example, there are four optional monsters in The Archylte Steppe, the Long Gui, Immortal, Yomi, and Ochu. These enemies will all drop fragments.
5. Which of these will cause a paradox effect?

Answer: Defeating strong Atlas

With the paradox scope equipped, if you go back to Bresha Ruins and fight Atlas again at full power, he will cause a paradox ending to occur if you defeat him. Defeating him while he is weak will actually resolve a paradox.
6. How do you actually resolve the paradox effect and overcome the Proto Fal'Cie Adam?

Answer: Yell at Hope

The Proto Fal'Cie will continue rebuilding itself regardless of how many times you defeat it. However, if you choose the live trigger option "Scream at Hope", Hope will cancel the project and the Fal'Cie will never have existed in the first place, which will end its existence without actually defeating it.
7. Many locations from the release of "Final Fantasy XIII" made a reappearance in this game, but some did not. Which location reappears that was on the original Cocoon?

Answer: Vile Peaks

The Yaschas Massif did reappear, but this location is on Gran Pulse. Bresha Ruins is NOT the same location as Lake Bresha, the locations simply have similar names. Eden is destroyed after Orphan was defeated.
8. Which is not a valid time period that appears in-game, or in the Historia Crux?

Answer: 2XX AF

700 AF refers to Noel's home far in the future after Cocoon falls, while 110 AF is a dreary year for the Yaschas Massif. 00X AF refers to "Hollow Seclusion", or the area where Serah dreams of a life with Light and Snow.
9. If you are looking up and can see Cocoon, you must be in any of these years except which?

Answer: 700 AF

Cocoon falls in the year 500 AF. However, this occurs during the year, not right at the start. You could still see Cocoon in 500 AF depending on what time of the year. It is hidden in Academia, but in the closing cutscene it is still there until it collapses.
10. Congratulations! You've mastered the timeline and found all possible 160 fragments. What is your reward?

Answer: A secret ending

If you find all 160 fragments, including the paradox ending fragments, you will get the secret ending. Simply defeat the final bosses again with the paradox scope on to watch it.
