1. In Lavender Town, the tower that was once used for honoring the dead is now running as what?

Answer: Radio Tower

The the "Red/Blue/Yellow" versions you could find your ghost Pok�mon here. Now in "Gold/Silver" it's a radio tower. There's a new smaller building in the south for honoring the dead.

2. Why is the Power Generator in Kanto not working the first time you visit it?

Answer: A part is missing

It turns out that someone got in in the middle of the night and made off with a part. You'll be told that he ran in the direction of Cerulean City.

3. When you fix the Generator at the Power Plant, the manager will reward you with what?

Answer: TM 07 (Zap Cannon)

After finding and beating the Rocket Grunt, he'll tell you where to find the part (in the water in the Cerulean City Gym), and then he'll run off.
Zap Cannon will do a fair amount of damage and will always paralyze its target. The only problem is that its accuracy is only 50%.

4. Who gives you the Train pass?

Answer: The Copy Cat

This little girl will give you the pass in exchange for her doll that she lost. This isn't hard to get, and the payoff is good. With the Train Pass, you'll be able to travel between Johto and Kanto for free (you are not able to fly between to two areas).

5. Where do you find Misty when she's not in her gym?

Answer: On a date

You'll find Misty up by Bill's house. She won't be happy when you disrupt her time with her boyfriend, but will return to the gym all the same so you can get your badge.

6. Why can't you sail to Cinnabar Island from Fuchsia City?

Answer: Rocks have fallen and blocked the path

The rocks will be cleared later in the game, but by that time, you'll be able to fly to Fuchsia City anyways. The only thing on the water route between Cinnabar Island and Fuchsia City is a bunch of trainers that hold little cash.

7. Diglett Cave is the only way to western Kanto for now but a certain Pok�mon is blocking the entrance. Which Pok�mon is this?

Answer: Snorlax

This is the only Snorlax in the game. It's big, it can heal itself, and it can dish out a beating. You may want to use Heavy Balls on this Pok�mon.

8. The only thing, really, in Pewter City apart from the gym is the old man that will give you an item you won't want to miss. Which item is this?

Answer: Rainbow/Silver Wing

This guy's just standing around in the southern part of Pewter City, waiting for you to talk to him. He'll give the Rainbow Wing to "Silver" players and the Silver Wing to "Gold" players. Now, you can go catch the second bird of the game (Lugia in the Whirl Islands, Ho Oh on the peak of Tin Tower).

9. Where is your last forced rival battle?

Answer: Mt. Moon

Your rival hasn't raised his Pok�mon as much as he should have. They're not much stronger than the last battle, and they should be fairly easy to beat at this point in the game. After this, you can find your rival at the Indigo Plateau on Mondays and Wednesdays, ready to fight you.

10. What special building is in Viridian City only?

Answer: One-on-One Trainer House

The One-on-One Trainer House will let you battle whoever you last did the Mystery Gift with. If you had never done the Mystery Gift, then you'll battle some guy named Cal who'll have level 50 versions of the three the fully evolved starter Pok�mon.

11. Apart from a Pok�mon Center, what is there to do on Cinnabar Island?

Answer: Talk to Viridian's Gym Leader

You have to talk to Blue here before you can battle him. Once you've had your little chat he'll return to his gym where you can get the last badge of the game.

12. Blaine doesn't have a gym anymore but you can still battle him for a badge. What structure does he work in now?

Answer: A cave

Blaine works in Sea Foam Island now. Once an elaborate dungeon in "Red/Blue/Yellow", it is now a one-floored, one-roomed housing for battles against the once significant gym leader, Blaine.

13. Who is Viridian's Gym Leader?

Answer: Blue

This is the guy you talked to at Cinnabar Island. You don't have to go through a horde of small time trainers to get to him; he's the only one there. His Pok�mon are all at least part ground type, but there's a healthy supply of other types that are good against ground Pok�mon that you can use. He's barely even a warm-up for the final battle.

14. The final confrontation is approaching. Where does this take place?

Answer: Mt. Silver

Mt. Silver is in Johto but can only be reached by going through Kanto. It's home to many new Pok�mon that can evolve into some of the strongest in the game, but you may not want to spend all that time training it up right now when you're so close to the end. You may just want to save those Pok�mon for later when you're wrapping up your Pok�dex.

15. This is it, your most powerful opponent in the game. What's the guy's name, and what's his highest leveled Pok�mon?

Answer: Red with Pikachu

The drama of this battle is increased slightly by Red not saying anything. He looks at you silence and then gets right to the battle without a word. His first and strongest Pok�mon is Pikachu at level 81. After that you have to go through a Charizard, Venusaur, Blastoise, Snorlax, and Espion, all in the mid-high 70's.

You don't gain much from this battle apart from a pile of money and the satisfaction of beating the toughest trainer the game had to offer.
