1. Since Voodoo is the main theme of Gabriel Knight, most of the game takes place in a city known for Voodoo. What city is this?

Answer: New Orleans

The title character is native to New Orleans. Specifically, most of this game takes place in the French Quarter.
2. The title character is so poor, he lives in his own store. What kind of business is this?

Answer: Book store

The title character owns a used book store and he lives in a bedroom in a back of the store. Business is doing very poorly.
3. What does the introduction show?

Answer: Gabriel's nightmare

The introduction will probably confuse you the first time you see it. However, you see it several times during the game. Each time you see it, the pieces of the introduction become clearer and clearer.
4. Gabriel's best friend, Grace, is from what Asian country?

Answer: Japan

Grace's family moved from Japan to New Orleans shortly before the game started. Grace is an intellectual who does a lot of reading. She's trying to earn a Ph.D. Gabriel and Grace often speak to each other as if they are a bitter married couple, but they are just friends.
5. What is Gabriel's favorite drink?

Answer: Coffee

Gabriel is a coffee addict. He has a couple of coffee at the beginning of nearly every day while he is in New Orleans and has another cup of coffee at the police station one day. He gets grumpy later on in the game when he goes to Germany and has to go nearly 48 hours without any coffee (because his family's castle in Germany doesn't have a coffee-making machine).
6. What is Gabriel's favorite thing about himself?

Answer: His hair

Gabriel absolutely loves his own brown curly hair. Nobody else seems to like it though.
7. How do you say "Knight" in German?

Answer: Ritter

The Knights were originally from Germany, where they were the Ritters. When Gabriel's grandfather moved to the U.S., he changed his name by simply translating it from German to English. Heinz Ritter became Harrison Knight.
8. According to Grace, legends about dragons originally come from what real-life animal?

Answer: Snakes

When Gabriel reads a book about snakes, Grace tells him that legends of many mythical animals such as dragons evolve from snakes. Originally Gabriel thinks that this is just another bit of useless trivia from that bookworm Grace, but actually this piece of information turns out to be very important later in the game.
9. What does the German word "Spiel" mean in English?

Answer: Game

If you make Gabriel pick the German dictionary in his book shop you will not only learn a few German words but you will also get a couple of references to "Quest For Glory". Spielburg is German for "Game Town". Another "Quest For Glory" reference can occur here if Gabriel looks up "Drachen".

He will learn that "Drachen means "Dragon," and he'll say that he'll consider referring to Mosely as "Drachen Breath". That, of course, means "Dragon's Breath", a term very familiar to "Quest For Glory" fans.
10. How old were Gabriel and his father when their fathers died?

Answer: 8

According to Gabriel's grandmother, Gabriel was eight when his father had a horrible vision in his mind while he was driving. This caused him to lose control of the car and kill both of Gabriel's parents in an accident. Similarly, Gabriel's grandfather died when Gabriel's father was 8.
11. How old was Gabriel's grandmother when his father was born?

Answer: 22

If you tell grandma to talk about herself and click on "Just tell me anything at all," there are several things she could say. One of those things was that she had Gabriel's father when she was 22. The doctor told her she couldn't have any more children after that.
12. What was Gabriel's grandmother's maiden name?

Answer: Rebecca Wright

Rebecca parents, husband, and kids are buried in the Wright tomb in St. Louis Cemetery #1. Gabriel says a special message for each member of his family and for each icon you click on him. The reason the tomb is above ground, according to the watchman, is because New Orleans is at sea level. If people in New Orleans were buried underground, the water level would make them float right out of their tombs and down the street.

It's quite funny imagery. It gets even funnier when the watchman says "Of course if it were Mardis Gras, nobody would even notice!"
13. The watchman at the cemetery later appears in what other Sierra game?

Answer: Space Quest 6

The watchman at St. Louis Cemetery #1 in "Gabriel Knight" later appears at Stellar Santiago's fake funeral. He digs the fake grave for the fake casket and lowers the fake casket underground.
14. How many voodoo murders had there been as of the beginning of this game?

Answer: Seven

Detective Mosely says there have been seven murders. Tens of people attend each murder and leave several voodoo markings. Unfortunately, despite the number of people who attend these murders, the police can't gather any evidence against the murderers. Almost nobody ever sees them and all the footprint are unreadable.
15. What part of the body is always ripped out of each victim?

Answer: Heart

The police says that at each voodoo murder, the victim's heart is always missing. Later in the game you learn that the murderers keep the hearts in jars in their Hounfour. There's a room in their secret hounfour where they keeps body parts of the victims.
