Answer: Locke

Obviously, Gau calls Cyan this due to his archaic way of speaking. At one point, humorously, he calls Sabin this.
Sabin: "HE'S Mr. Thou, not me!"

2. In the Cave on the Veldt, how much Gil does Sabin lose due to a prank played by Gau?

Answer: 100

You can avoid this by not going too far north in the cave. Sabin nearly decks Gau for this!

3. What made-up words do Gau say before rejoining the party after training in the SNES version?

Answer: "Uwao aooh!"

He's no witch doctor! The full speech is "Uwao aooh! I'm Gau! I'm your friend! Let's travel together!"

4. Gau uses rages that are pretty powerful. How many rages are only unlockable by using a cheating device?

Answer: Two

Ziegfried and Ultros are the two. Be careful with some of the rages, though. Gau may blow himself up with the wrong ones!

In this encounter, you shouldn't put Gau and Celes on the same team. Gau's rages can be negated by Celes' runic ability.

Interestingly enough, Edgar/Sabin and Strago/Relm are related. Gau's father is the only character's relative who does not journey with them. Cid is not REALLY Celes' uncle, she just CALLS him that.

Answer: His mother died in childbirth

Someone in the game will tell you that a man's wife died in childbirth, leading the man to go insane. He abandoned the child, who we know to be Gau, on the Veldt to be eaten by monsters. Gau survived, and can meet his father in a short cutscene.

Answer: Gogo

Secret characters aren't invited, I'm afraid. One character's choice of clothing for Gau causes him to make a hilarious remark! "I go to funeral?"

Gogo falls through the floor, Terra falls down and Setzer flips a coin. Gau's "shortcut" isn't seen in a room, he appears on a black background, poking out of a hole!
