Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. There are three Robot Masters that can be killed in one shot. Which of the following weapons can be used thus?

Answer: Air Shooter

There are three Robot Masters that can be taken down in one shot. The first is Metal Man. One shot from the Metal Blade will destroy him. Naturally, the only time you can use the Metal Blade against Metal Man is in Dr. Wily's Castle. The second is Wood Man.

A fully charged Atomic Fire shot will destroy him. Also, if you time it right, you can destroy Wood Man with a Crash Bomb. The third Robot Master is Crash Man. You must time this attack perfectly. When you fire the Air Shooter, three tornadoes come out. Provided all three tornadoes hit Crash Man at the same time, Crash Man will go down in just one shot.
2. In Stage 4 on Dr. Wily's Castle, you must fight the Orb Boss. How many Orbs are attached to the walls?

Answer: Five

There are five orbs that you must destroy. You must use the Crash Bombs to destroy them. You cannot waste a single Crash Bomb, as all of them are required. You will need to use Item 1 and 3 in order to conserve your Crash Bombs.
3. In the Teleportation Room in Dr. Wily's Castle, there are doors that take you to the eight individual Robot Masters. What Robot Masters have their doors in the direct center of the room at ground level?

Answer: Bubble Man and Quick Man

Thankfully, unlike the first game, when you kill the robot masters they give you energy. That way, you don't have to fight all eight robot masters with only one health meter.
4. What special item do you get for beating Wood Man?

Answer: None

You get Item 1 by defeating Heat Man, Item 2 by defeating Air Man, and Item 3 by defeating Flash Man. The other five Robot Masters do not give you special items when you defeat them.
5. One of the bosses from Dr. Wily's Castle is modeled after what Robot Master from the original "Mega Man"?

Answer: Guts Man

Guts Man is the mostly frequently referenced Robot Master in the original series. In "Mega Man II", his likeness appears as a giant boss known as the Guts Dozer. In the original "Mega Man" his statues appear on Stage 4 of Dr. Wily's Castle.
6. While the United States release of "Mega Man II" has a difficulty choice between "Normal" and "Difficult", the Japanese version of "Mega Man II" has only one difficulty setting. Is Japan's "Mega Man II" automatically set to "Normal" or "Difficult"?

Answer: Difficult

The Japan version of "Mega Man II" has no difficulty options like the US release. The Japan version of "Mega Man II" corresponds to the US "Mega Man II" on the "Difficult" setting.
7. "Mega Man II" introduces the password system to the "Mega Man" series. Over the years the password system has been cracked. The password system works with a series of dots on a field of numbers and letters. Where letter/number combination would you use on the password field to begin the game with Quick Man dead and have two energy tanks?

Answer: C1

The "Mega Man II" password system is quite easy to crack. B4 through C3 will have Quick Man dead and will determine how many energy tanks you will begin the game with. B4 has 0 energy tanks. B5 has one energy tank. C1 has two energy tanks. C2 has three energy tanks. C3 has four energy tanks. Each Robot Master has ten combinations assigned to them. Five of the combinations will feature each Robot Master alive with a certain amount of energy tanks available, and the other five will have them dead.
8. Although there is no gameplay difference, you can change the stars into birds that appear on the Robot Masters' title sequence when you select them by a certain button combination. How do you change the stars to birds?

Answer: Start and A

Why Capcom put this into the game I'm not sure. However, if you press and hold the "A" button and press "Start", the stars transform into birds. Pretty useless trick. Nintendo Power did feature the trick in their "Classified Information" column back in the early 1990s.
9. The Robot Masters from "Mega Man II" are featured in what other "Mega Man" title in the original NES series?

Answer: Mega Man III

After beating the eight Robot Masters in "Mega Man III", four more stages are revealed. Known as Doc Robots, each of the four stages feature two bosses a piece. These Doc Robots are the eight Robot Masters from "Mega Man II".
10. "Mega Man II" is probably the most flexible of the original six titles concerning the order in which you can fight the eight Robot Masters. However, the July-August 1989 issue of Nintendo Power recommends a specific order. According to Nintendo Power, what is fifth Robot Master you should attack?

Answer: Bubble Man

Unlike some games in the series where only one weapon will really be effective against a certain robot master, there is a much broader range of possibilities in "Mega Man II", with Robot Masters being weak to several weapons. Although Nintendo Power recognized you could play the stages in any order you like, the one they specifically recommended is Air Man, Crash Man, Metal Man, Heat Man, Bubble Man, Wood Man, Flash Man, and Quick Man.
