Answer: Death Metroid

The Metroids are creatures that can suck out energy, and the only way to get them off of you is with a Morph Ball Bomb. Hunter Metroids are the mutated versions of the Metroids, and by using their tentacles, they can hit you without grabbing onto you. The Metroid Prime is the big boss of the game, found in the Impact Crater.

Answer: The crystals on it's back absorb energy.

They have poor stamina, and hyperventilate after using their breath attack. They are invulnerable to Beam weapons. Their belly is most vulnerable to concussive weapons.

With the possible exception of the Pirate Queen, only the Oculus is a real monster. To temporarily beam an Oculus, just use a charge beam or a missile when the eye is open.

Answer: On the Pirate Frigate before you land on Tallon IV

You see the Meta Ridley flying in Phendrana and you fight it in the Artifact Temple. You have to beat it before you can get into the Impact Crater. You first see it on the Frigate as you are running to get off the Frigate before it self-destructs.

The Sheegoth, Chozo Ghosts, and Elite Pirates are the only bosses in the entire game you see more than once. You can see the Sheegoth in the Quarantine Cave after beating the Thardus and the Elite Pirates are found in a room in the Phazon Mines (they appear out of nowhere).

The Chozo Ghosts can be seen in the Life Grove and in other various areas of the Chozo Ruins plus they lay the finishing blow on the Meta Ridley in the Artifact Temple (this is during a cutscene however, and therefore cannot be scanned here).

Answer: X-Ray Visor

Unfortunately, you get the X-Ray visor after you first see the Chozo Ghosts, which means that fight is much harder. Also, the Power Beam is the only weapon that affects them. The X-Ray visor helps for you to see them without them vanishing like they do when using the Combat Visor.

Answer: Omega Pirate

The Flaahgra is the second boss in the game, and you get the Varia Suit from beating it, the Elite Pirate is a boss that gives you nothing, and the Meta Ridley is a boss you fight after getting the Phazon Suit. The Phazon Suit enables you to use the Phazon Beam which is needed to beat the Metroid Prime, and walk on blue Phazon.

Answer: Thardus

The Phazon Elite gives you the Artifact of Warrior while the Sheegoth gives you the Wave Beam, and finally the Omega Pirate gives you the Phazon Suit needed to finish off the Metroid Prime. Be sure to scan the Thardus as you only get one chance to do so.

Answer: There is only one on the ship.

It is found on the Pirate Frigate after it crashes. You can see a corpse of the Parasite Queen in the Emergency Evacuation Area, and skeletons in various other rooms. Aim for the mouth when fighting it in the Reactor Core for maximum damage with whatever weapon you use.

It is the first boss in the game, and once you beat it, it falls into the reactor and then you gotta get off the ship quickly. Scan it though, because you only get a single chance to get data on it.
