Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Concerning "Final Fantasy 2 US" (Japanese "Final Fantasy 4"), what is the first white magic spell learned that can cause direct damage?

Answer: Cure1

Yeah, yeah, I know... But if you use Cure1 on the undead, you do direct damage, right? Of course, Fire spells are the better option when dealing with the undead. Save your Cures for your allies!
2. Staying with "Final Fantasy 2 US", will the white magic spell White always deal damage?

Answer: No

Some creatures will absorb the White spell and heal themselves. Like Blue Dragons for instance... I suggest you let Rydia Nuke them, or summon Bahamut to get the job done in spectacular form!
3. The elemental type that does great damage to undead that is also found in curative spells has an unusual name in "Final Fantasy 3 US" (Japanese 6). What is it?

Answer: Pearl

Pearl can be taught to characters using the Alexandr esper found in Doma Castle in the World of Ruin after defeating Wrexsoul inside Cyan's mind. Look for it on the throne.
4. In "Chrono Trigger", every character imprisoned on The Blackbird is completely helpless until you find their treasure chest.

Answer: False

Ayla's fist cannot be removed. Bring her to The Blackbird, and you'll be able to fight enemies right away. I suggest doing this only with a "New Game +" party. Sneak around the first time through.
5. In "Secret of Mana", which of the following is NOT one of the eight elementals?

Answer: Terrato

Terrato is the earth esper in "Final Fantasy 3 US", bringing Quake, Quartr, and W Wind along with it. Lumina is the Mana elemental of light, while Dryad represents the Mana Tree, and Undine represents Water. Incidentally, Gnome represents Earth in "Secret of Mana".
6. Is it possible to learn spells without leveling up in "Final Fantasy 2 US"?

Answer: Yes

By killing certain creatures, you can gain Call spells for Rydia to use in battle. My personal favorite is the Bomb spell. It works wonders on the CPU globe inside the Giant of Bab-Il!
7. What is the name of the third level electrical spell in "Final Fantasy 3 US"?

Answer: Bolt 3

Lit3 can be found in "Final Fantasy 2 US". Thundaga can be found in many games, but I was thinking about "Final Fantasy Tactics Advance". Luminaire is Crono's eighth and final technique in "Chrono Trigger".
8. The spell Flare has many incarnations in Squaresoft games. Which game requires Flare to be cast by two people?

Answer: Final Fantasy 2 US

The twin wizards of Mysidia, Porom and Palom, team up to use this spell with the Twin command. When using Twin magic, the twins will either cast Flare or Comet, hitting all foes.
9. In "Final Fantasy Tactics Advance", there is no way to disable a judge.

Answer: False

By enlisting Judgemaster Cid after completing all 300 missions, you can get him to disable the judge for an entire round. He can also remove your yellow cards, and paralyze and disable foes for arrest.
10. Finally, the classic question, what colour is Kain's hair in "Final Fantasy 2 US"?

Answer: Blonde

You see this as he stands atop Mount Ordeals at the end of the game... Thanks for playing!
