Question 1 of 10
1. This is a very, very long dungeon. It's the largest standard dungeon and it's in the top five for longest epic dungeons in the game. It stands to reason that you will deal with a large amount of enemies. How many different types of enemies, not counting the bosses, are there? Hint

Question 2 of 10
2. Talking about bosses, let's address the first one. The famous wizard responsible for unsealing the Cragmire Crpyts, and allowing the Blackdagger Bandits entry into them, this is the wizard you must now slay. What is his name?

Answer: (Two Words, starting with a K and a T)
Question 3 of 10
3. Transitioning into the second boss, or should I say bosses? Not necessarily a binary opposition, coming across this group will still induce a conflict. What is this group's name?

Answer: (Three Words)
Question 4 of 10
4. Now for the final boss. One of two (one left alive) leaders of the Blackdagger Bandits, and boy does he look the part. Donning a full, generic set of pirate attire, if you take this fight lightly, you'll be walking the plank! Who are you set to do battle with?

Answer: (Starts with a T)
Question 5 of 10
5. Typically regarded as a niche class in general, the Trickster Rogue has one, completely exclusive, and one-time only ability to do something pretty neat on this map. On the standard dungeon, unless you are a new player, it is encouraged that you abuse this trick. However, on the epic version, you may wish to hold off on doing this unless you are very, very good at this game (around the top echelon of Rogues in the whole game-esque level). What is this trick? Hint

Question 6 of 10
6. There are two instances on this dungeon where you will come upon pits of spikes, with the need to hit a switch that will spawn a bridge to cross the pits. If you fail to do so, and inadvertently fall into the spikes, will it kill you instantly?

Question 7 of 10
7. At one point in time, this dungeon used to actually have four bosses. One of them was optional, but was removed from the game entirely shortly after the sixth module. What was the name of this boss?

Answer: (Three Words; it's a creature)
Question 8 of 10
8. In order to trigger the quest that completing this dungeon would complete, what quest must the player complete in the Blackdagger Ruins campaign? Hint

Question 9 of 10
9. While there is no item level requirement for the standard dungeon, the epic version does have such a restriction. What is the item level for the epic version? Hint

Question 10 of 10
10. What is required, on the Epic version, to open the Treasure Chest at the end of the dungeon? Hint

Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. This is a very, very long dungeon. It's the largest standard dungeon and it's in the top five for longest epic dungeons in the game. It stands to reason that you will deal with a large amount of enemies. How many different types of enemies, not counting the bosses, are there?

Answer: Twenty-four

In all, you can expect to face a heavy dosage of Blackdagger bandits throughout the entirety of the dungeon. As you get deeper and deeper into the Crpyts, you will also face off against various types of Spiders and various types of the Undead.
2. Talking about bosses, let's address the first one. The famous wizard responsible for unsealing the Cragmire Crpyts, and allowing the Blackdagger Bandits entry into them, this is the wizard you must now slay. What is his name?

Answer: Kallos Tam

Kallos Tam, aided by Spellplague, was able to remove the seal placed upon the Cragmire Crpyts by Neverwinter officials. He is the first boss of the dungeon, and is a fairly straightforward one. Characters with a dash, such as Hunter Rangers or Devoted Clerics, should breeze right past him, as his standard attack is not too imposing, and their dashes can be used to dodge his harder hitting attacks fairly easily.

However, it's a different story on the epic version. On the epic version, Kallos Tam attacks faster, hits harder, and can take a lot of hits. Thankfully, there is a very mild amount of aggro involved with this fight, so this is very much doable alone, for both the standard and epic versions.
3. Transitioning into the second boss, or should I say bosses? Not necessarily a binary opposition, coming across this group will still induce a conflict. What is this group's name?

Answer: Competing Adventure Party

Five adventurers, by the names of Samulkin Farcaster, Cardiamus Hawklight, Margold Tarmikos, Aluella Shieldheart, and Shaek Trueblood, will do battle with you. The former three serve as "DPS builds", while Aluella acts as a tank and Shaek functions as a Cleric.

It is recommended to eliminate the DPS builds, who stand on the left, first; the Tank and Cleric can prove annoying and cumbersome to kill, but they will generally not threaten to kill you too much.
4. Now for the final boss. One of two (one left alive) leaders of the Blackdagger Bandits, and boy does he look the part. Donning a full, generic set of pirate attire, if you take this fight lightly, you'll be walking the plank! Who are you set to do battle with?

Answer: Traven Blackdagger

On both the standard and the epic versions of this dungeon, Traven poses as a potent foe. Much like Cloak Tower's Vansi Bloodscar and Throg the Ravenous, Traven possesses a powerful Flurry of Blows attack in his arsenal, but he also has one nasty little tool in his kit; the Fire Bomb. Frequently throughout the battle, Traven will throw this bomb at whomever has generated the most Threat of the party.

This bomb has an incredibly wide Area of Effect, and while Guardian Fighters will be equipped to handle it fairly inconsequentially, Great Weapon Fighters will want to be cautious: it does a ton of damage. If it hits anyone who isn't a Guardian Fighter or Oathbound Paladin with their shield up, it will send them flying across the battlefield. However, the most challenging part of this fight would be the aggro Traven predictably summons upon hitting half health.

However, unlike your average everyday onslaught of cronies, Traven has chosen his men, and his battlefield, particularly well for this strategy; the battlefield itself is very small, offering little in the manner of maneuverability.

This poses a threatening challenge when you consider you are not only contending with Traven and the bandits he summons, but you are also trying to sidestep away from Traven's Fire Bombs, which cover large portions of the battlefield. It is extremely easy to make a single mistake and end up dead because of it as a result. To counter Traven's strategy, a number of players may choose to bring Area of Effect artifacts to help tame the mob of bandits, such as Dragon Hearts, the Shard of Orcus' Wand, the Lostmauth Horn of Blasting, the Thayan Book of the Dead, or possibly even an artifact that can divert the mob away for a while such as the Horn of Valhalla or Belial's Portal Stone.

Answer: They have the ability to bypass the Shadow Gate completely

Unlocking the Shadow Gate is a fairly lengthy and tedious process for any class except for the Trickster Rogue. If they came packed with the Teleport Power, they can very simply use this Power to bypass the Gate and overcome about ten minutes of gameplay in a handful of seconds. Unless your party consists entirely of Trickster Rogues, this is not recommended on the Epic version unless you are either trying to solo the dungeon, or you are truly among the game's Elite Trickster Rogues.

This is because Rogues are among the game's worst classes at going solo with. You would either have to wait for the rest of your party to join you beyond the Shadow Gate (rendering the very idea of using Teleport to bypass it pointless) or you would have to forgo doing this to go with your party, helping them to unlock the Shadow Gate the normal way.
6. There are two instances on this dungeon where you will come upon pits of spikes, with the need to hit a switch that will spawn a bridge to cross the pits. If you fail to do so, and inadvertently fall into the spikes, will it kill you instantly?

Answer: Yes

While the very thought of accidentally stumbling into a pit of spikes may seem silly, it's easier to do this than it sounds. The room itself is fairly dark, you only come upon these pits of spikes after walking up a hallway, and there are enemies at the end of the dark hallway you are heading toward. Regardless, hasty players will be punished with death if they do not summon, and subsequently wait for, the bridge to appear first.

It is worth noting that characters with ranged weapons, such as the Hunter Ranger, have the option of freely killing the enemies on the other end before crossing the bridge.
7. At one point in time, this dungeon used to actually have four bosses. One of them was optional, but was removed from the game entirely shortly after the sixth module. What was the name of this boss?

Answer: Daughter of Lolth

The Daughter of Lolth put the "mini" in mini boss, as it was extremely easy to kill. Yet, for new players, it was not super easy to find. As the party comes across a pack of spiders descending into the Crypts, there will be a mess of spider webs assorted into a dark room off to the right of the door to advance through the dungeon. Before this boss was removed, the party would need to head into this darkness, and someone with a Nature Kit or Nature Ability would need to utilize their Kit or Ability to trigger the skill node at a random place on the wall. Doing this would spawn a door which, when entered, would allow the party to find the Daughter of Lolth mini boss. Upon defeating this giant Tomb Spider, the party would each receive one piece of level-based Epic equipment for their class along with anywhere from three to nine Seals of the Lion.

It only lasted about two weeks on the sixth module before getting removed in "Mod 6B." The specific reasoning behind the Daughter of Lolth's removal is not perfectly clear, as Arc Games and Cryptic Studios have not, and seemingly will not, formally address its removal.

However, speculation has it that it was removed due to an irreparable glitch it was causing where other Spiders throughout the dungeon would also spontaneously drop Seals of the Lion and Rare class based equipment for the party, while also possessing the Daughter of Lolth's exact same stats. This made the loot much more fruitful, but also made the dungeon itself borderline unplayable, with a large majority of these enemies now possessing bosslike traits. This also caused play through in this dungeon to be unbearably long, save for the best of the best of parties. While it is not confirmed that it was the presence of the Daughter of Lolth that caused this glitch, it is worth noting that upon the Daughter of Lolth's removal, this phenomenon stopped happening entirely.
8. In order to trigger the quest that completing this dungeon would complete, what quest must the player complete in the Blackdagger Ruins campaign?

Answer: Grimstorm Keep

The Grimstorm Keep quest involves the player travelling deep into the Grimstorm Keep to slay Malus Blackdagger, who is the co-leader of the Blackdagger bandits alongside Traven Blackdagger. Upon doing this, the Neverwinter Guard will ask that you now slay Traven Blackdagger, expressing concern over what he and Kallos Tam may do in the sacred Cragmire Crypts.
9. While there is no item level requirement for the standard dungeon, the epic version does have such a restriction. What is the item level for the epic version?

Answer: 8,400

While the item level requirement is a measly 8,400, it is commonly agreed upon in the "Neverwinter" community that a character barely meeting this level is not actually ready to complete this dungeon without critical amounts of support from the others in the party. Typically, you will want to reach 10,000 for an item level before attempting this dungeon. Given that there is a noticeable amount of pressure placed on the DPS loadouts and the Tank, especially when fighting Traven, throughout the dungeon, it is oftentimes better to be even higher than 10,000.
10. What is required, on the Epic version, to open the Treasure Chest at the end of the dungeon?

Answer: Epic Dungeon Key

Much like any Epic dungeon, an Epic Dungeon Key will be required to open this Chest. Unfortunately, Cragmire Crpyts joins the Epic Temple of Spiders and Epic Gray Wolf Den as being the only Epic dungeons to only have one Treasure Chest at the end. This distinction, along with the overall length of the dungeon itself, makes it unsurprising that the Epic Cragmire Crpyts ranked as Epic Dungeon with the lowest amount of playthroughs in 2016 and 2017, with Epic Gray Wolf Den being a close second.
