Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Terra's father is actually an esper that you can learn spells from and summon in battle. What attack does he use when you summon him?

Answer: Chaos Wing

Chaos Wing (from the Maduin esper, Terra's father) is a non-elemental attack, but as such, it can't play off of any weaknesses either. Sea Song is a water elemental summon from the Bismarck esper. Tri-Dazer is a fire/ice/thunder elemental attack from the Tritoch esper. Demon Eye comes from the Shoat esper, and has the potential to petrify one enemy.
2. Who can learn "Magic" spells without the aid of any equipment or magicite shards?

Answer: Terra and Celes

Yep. These two have the ability to learn certain spells on their own. Terra's ability stems from her esper heritage courtesy of Maduin, while Celes' ability comes from the alterations that made her a Magitek Knight. While Strago learns spells without equipment or Magicite, these are "Lore" spells, not "Magic" spells.
3. An easier one... If I were a Tool hidden deep in the town of Zozo, which Tool would I be?

Answer: Chain Saw

You can deduce your way to the Chain Saw by setting the clock in Zozo to the only time that the townspeople didn't say it was. The Drill and Bio Blaster can both be bought in Figaro Castle at varying times in the game, while the Air Anchor is locked inside the Tower of the Magi.
4. Before scaling Mt Kolts, what is the strongest sword I can buy for Terra?

Answer: Regal Cutlass

Edgar, the young King of Figaro comes equipped with one of these. However, you should buy Terra one from the weapon shop in South Figaro before climbing the mountain.
5. Which of the following characters never fights a battle by him/herself? (This excludes fighting in the Colosseum, and group battle selection.)

Answer: Relm

Sabin fights Vargas, Terra fights Phunbaba unsuccessfully, and Celes walks around the World of Ruin by herself at first, prior to meeting Sabin in Tzen. Relm shows off in the battle against Ultros in the Esper Gathering Place, but she's not alone.
6. You should let your party be swallowed by the Zone Eater at least once.

Answer: True

Inside the Zone Eater is a dungeon that contains some rare items (like Relm's Fake Moustache relic), and the secret character Gogo the Mimic. Gogo will duplicate the last action taken by the party if possible, otherwise he/she... it will Fight. Also, you can give Gogo three commands from your other party members like Blitz, Magic, Lore, and Tools.
7. What is the special ability of the Atma Weapon (the SWORD)?

Answer: Gains attack power as you gain hit points

The Atma Weapon is only as strong as you are. As you take damage, the sword's attack power will fall. The Scimitar randomly slices enemies in half. Many weapons can consume MP to score a critical hit, including the Rune Edge and the Punisher. The Ragnarok sword forged from the Ragnarok magicite fragment will randomly cast Flare in battle.
8. Which battle/dungeon does not require you to divide your team into multiple groups, used in tandem?

Answer: Magitek Factory

Kefka's Tower and the Phoenix Cave both require multiple teams in order for one group to clear away obstacles for the other groups. The Phoenix Cave uses 2 groups, while Kefka's Tower and Protect Banon in Narshe (purely tactical battle) use three.
9. You can only fight the Guardian in Kefka's Tower.

Answer: False

If you are foolhardy enough, you can fight the Guardian as General Leo in Thamasa. Each of Kefka's guards seems to be a Guardian at this point in time... Use a Warp Stone to escape the senseless slaughter.
10. What is the name of Sabin's martial arts master?

Answer: Duncan

Duncan can be found living near Narshe in the World of Ruin in a spot marked by a cross-shaped region of trees. Arrive with Sabin in your party to learn the Bum Rush technique. Vargas was Duncan's son, and Sabin's rival in training. Dullahan is the boss found in Daryl's Tomb. Yang is the Karate master who becomes the King of Fabul in "Final Fantasy 2 US".
