Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. "Luigi" was in the original "Donkey Kong" game?

Answer: False

This was "Mario's" struggle alone. "Luigi" did not appear until the "Mario Brothers" games appeared.
2. What game am I? I attempt to climb up a building to get to a helicopter and these rude people keep throwing flowerpots and other objects out the window. I am kind of a wimp and say "OUCH!" when I am struck.

Answer: "Crazy Climber"

I don't think that this was a popular favorite but I remember playing it quite a bit.
3. In the animated game, "Dragon's Lair", there is one scene where "Dirk the Daring" sees a potion and there is a sign that says, "Drink Me". He should drink the drink to move on to the next screen.

Answer: False

He disintegrates as soon as he drinks the potion.
4. On the old "Atari 2600", there was a game called "Adventure." On level three, there were three castles. What were the colors of the castles?

Answer: Gold, White, and Black

Your character (that was represented by a flashing square) began at the gold castle and depending upon the randomness of the sequence, the goblet could be found in the white or black castle. This was for level three only.
5. In which of the following games, did you have to avoid a snake?

Answer: "Frogger"

Snakes could be on logs or on the island between the road and the swamp.
6. In "Pitfall", what was the name of the character?

Answer: Harry

Good ol' "Pitfall Harry"!
7. There was a cartridge called "Video Olympics" that was played with the paddle controller on the "Atari 2600". Which event did they NOT have as an option?

Answer: Biathlon

This was back in the day of some pretty feeble graphics as lines and dots were all you had to work with. I remember having fun though!
8. How could you get a bonus man in the game "Carnival" from "Collecovision"?

Answer: By shooting the letters B- O- N- U- S in sequence

Once you hit a letter out of sequence, you could not earn a bonus man for that round.
9. In the game "Punch-Out", who was always the SECOND opponent?

Answer: "Piston Hurricane"

"Glass Joe" was first, "Piston Hurricane" was second, "Bald Bull" was third. "Mike Tyson" was last. There were others in between "Bald Bull" and "Mike Tyson", as well.
10. In what game were you a bartender that tossed beers across a bar in order to get them to thisty customers before they fell on the floor and shattered?

Answer: "Tapper"

I had to dig deep into the archives of my brain for that one :)
