Answer: An arrow pierced his throat.

After earning victory over his enemy clan, Nobunaga Oda was killed by a random arrow and left for dead. Little did anyone suspect that Guildenstern, the chief scientist of the Genma, would resurrect Nobunaga, and unleash an intense evil upon the land.

Answer: Samanosuke and Kaede

Samanosuke was a member of the Saito charged with the mission to protect Princess Yuki. Kaede was a ninja hired by the Iga clan to assassinate Samanosuke, but she refused and eventually developed deep feelings for him.

Answer: Near death experience because of a powerful impact from the Genma General's weapon.

The ability to absorb the souls of the evil Genma was not all that was granted to our hero, Samanosuke. He was also granted the ability to use Ogre weapons with the power of the elements. All but the strongest of the Genma are to fall easily with the power of the Ogres.

Answer: Reynaldo

Reynaldo was a pink Genma, which had long arms that could stretch underground and attack you from there. Upon defeating him, you unlocked the Enryuu, a broadsword with the power of fire. If you think about it, many of the enemies are named after characters in Shakespeare's play, "Hamlet". Guildenstern, Reynaldo, Osric, Marcellus, Hecuba, and Fortinbras are the names in the game which are taken from "Hamlet".

Yumemaru seemed to be an average little boy, but he seemed to be more of a burden on Samanosuke than anything. After running off, Yumemaru was captured by a Genma General, and Samanosuke had to put his life on the line to save him. Yumemaru distrusted Samanosuke until the very end, because he believed that Samanosuke was an agent of the Genma.

There were 30 fluorite, in total, throughout the grounds of Inabayama Castle. An item you earned in the middle of the game, greatly assisted in your quest of finding the ever so evasive fluorite. The item was called the "Vision Staff" and it helped you by making the fluorite glow, allowing you to see where they were hidden, as opposed to blindly hunting for them.

7. The protagonist fought Guildenstern at the summit of Inabayama Castle.

Answer: False

Guildenstern isn't fought at the summit of Inabayama Castle, nor is he fought at all in the first "Onimusha" game. The destruction of Guildenstern did not occur until much later. If a player wants to kill Guildenstern, then they could play, "Onimusha 3".

Answer: Battled through the depths of the Dark Realm.

The name of the ultimate sword was the Bishamon Sword. It was named after the Japanese god of war, and was obtained after earning the Bishamon Ocarina in the Dark Realm. The Dark Realm was essentially a breeding ground of the Genma. The deeper into its depths Samanosuke went, the more powerful the enemies were.

At the final level of the Dark Realm, Samanosuke found the Bishamon Ocarina and than he could obtain the sword.

The Great Bow and the Great Arrow were found in treasure chests in two opposite corners of Inabayama Castle. The purpose of the weapon was to break the almost impregnable seal created by none other than Guildenstern. In fact, after breaking through the gate, Guildenstern had a surprise for you. The surprise was another of his evil creations, an extremely powerful Genma, named Marcellus.

10. Upon unlocking the Evil Gate created by the Genma, the hero ran to battle the Genma King. Who was the incredibly evil king of the Genma?

Upon defeating the Genma King, Samanosuke lay on the floor dazed, and confused. As Nobunaga inched closer and closer to the downed Samurai, the screen faded to black and revealed that Samanosuke had disappeared, and no-one knew where he was. Another fact that was revealed was the untimely death of Kaede at a battle 15 years later.
