1. What is the name of the town in which the game begins?

Answer: Midgar

Midgar is where the game begins and ends. Cloud and Tifa once lived in Nibelheim, but the game does not begin there. Wutai is where Yuffie lives. Cosmo Canyon is where Red XIII lives.

2. Since being in SOLDIER, Cloud has taken up another job. What is it?

Answer: Mercenary

After the successful mission to destroy the first of Midgar's Mako Reactors, Cloud demands his pay for his part in the mission. While none of the others involved in AVALANCHE's plot asked for money, this makes it clear that Cloud was indeed a mercenary.

3. What is Red XIII's real name?

Answer: Nanaki

This is revealed once you reach Cosmo Canyon as the guard immediately recognizes Red XIII and greets him as Nanaki. Seto is the name of Red XIII's father. Bugenhagen is the name of the astronomer who lives in Cosmo Canyon.

Cloud and the others are already there when Rufus arrives at Shinra Headquarters. Cloud then battles Rufus one-on-one after Rufus explains his intentions on how to control Midgar.

Answer: Lucrecia

It is revealed once you encounter Lucrecia, with Vincent in your party, that Sephiroth's biological parents are Lucrecia and Hojo. Hojo also reveals that he is Sephiroth's father before you face him in Midgar. Jenova, though often called "Mother" by Sephiroth, is not his real mother. Jenova's cells are simply a part of Sephiroth.

6. Who is the only character in your party to be killed as a part of the storyline?

Answer: Aeris

Aeris was killed by Sephiroth in the Forgotten Capitol. Cait Sith was merely Reeve speaking through a puppet. The puppet was destroyed in the collapse of the Temple of the Ancients, but Reeve remained alive and well. Dyne did kill himself, but he was never a member of your party.

7. What is the most powerful Summon materia in the game known as?

Answer: Knights of the Round

Knights of the Round is a secret materia that can be acquired near the end of the game. Neo Bahamut, Typhoon, and Hades, though they are powerful, don't even come close to the destructive power of Knights of the Round.

8. What initially makes Holy unable to be summoned to stop the fall of Meteor?

Answer: Sephiroth's presence

Sephiroth is a powerful being who can keep Holy from being summoned to stop Meteor. In order to summon Holy, the party must defeat Sephiroth.

9. After the final battle with your comrades, Cloud and Sephiroth square off one-on-one. What is the coup de grace used by Cloud to defeat Sephiroth?

Answer: Omnislash

You would think that Finishing Touch would be the ideal answer, but it's not. Omnislash is the most powerful Limit Break Cloud can learn and, whether or not you ever acquired Omnislash from the Gold Saucer, you will defeat Sephiroth with it anyhow.

10. What force assists Holy in the neutralization of Meteor?

Answer: The Lifestream

Holy is summoned once Sephiroth is defeated, but it cannot stop Meteor alone. The planet then uses the Lifestream itself to give additional support to Holy to stop Meteor.
