1. What is the subtitle of Chapter 1?

Answer: Castle and Dragon

The dragon is named Hooktail and he is the boss at the end of the chapter. The castle is the place where most of Chapter 1 is. But you're not going there yet, you still have to do a few things before you can reach it.

2. Who is the mayor of Petalburg?

Answer: Kroop

According to the Koopa at the entrance of Petalburg, the mayor is old and very "wise", but when we finally meet him, we discover he's completely bonkers! At least he still tells you what to do next.

3. What is the badge in the red block below Shhwonk Fortress?

Answer: Multibounce

The Multibounce badge is useful when you're battling more than one enemy. You should equip this badge right away because soon you're going to be facing a lot of Fuzzies (balls of fluff which hop around) which come in groups.

4. Why does Koops want to come with you to Hooktail Castle?

Answer: All of these

When you tell him he can join you, he'll become the second member of your party. He can reach distant places to get items by pressing X. In battle, he also has a useful Shell Toss and Power Shell which can whack enemies.

It sounds like the actual place, Colorado, but spelled with a K. Anyway, it's very funny when Koops thinks that the skeleton is his dad but then he gets all embarrassed when he finds out it's not his dad at all!

This badge will change your attack sound into a chirp of a cricket. Hooktail despises crickets after a nasty experience of eating one so she'll get all queasy when she hears a cricket chirp.

You have to get out quick, or it'll be Game Over for Mario! When you unlock the black box, it'll fly out and "curse" you again. This time, it'll give you the ability to turn sideways, but couldn't you have just turned sideways in the first place? o_O

8. How much HP does Hooktail have?

Hooktail is a massive red and white female dragon. She has a claw slam which damages your front party member and fire breath which damages both. You should put your partner in front of you so you don't get hurt too much.

9. After you've beaten Hooktail, she tries to make it up to you by giving you something. Which of these does she NOT offer?

Answer: A brand new move

Make sure to refuse all three of her offers! She's just tricking you so she can attack you! When she gives up on offers, she swallows up some of your audience to replenish half of her health! Use your strongest attacks to defeat her for good.

Hooktail coughs him out of her body and we discover he was alive all along! To make things better, he's even found a Crystal Star in Hooktail's belly!

11. What special move do you gain when you've got your first Crystal Star?

Answer: Earth Tremor

To use Earth Tremor in battle, select it and Mario will jump on the Diamond Star. A line will fill up a bar above and whenever it passes a star, press A. This goes on until you've done it five times or missed a star. Then you bounce up and down to hurt the enemies a lot!

These were the weird creatures which were hassling Goombella at the beginning of the game. They've kidnapped Peach because they think she has the Magical Map.

She was from the original "Paper Mario" and she fought alongside Bowser in the last battle. Now she's back and she's still an old hag as she was before.
