Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What are the only three factions you can start out with?

Answer: Julii, Brutii, & Scipii

The only three you can start with are Julii, Scipii, and Brutii though the others are available after. After you win with these countries you can play as most of the others.
2. You can set your own heir.

Answer: True

This is an improvement on the other "Total War" games as they never had this feature. However, if you do set an heir, the person who was an heir is less loyal because you "Disinherited" him, so use this sparingly.
3. Where are the only two places where you can train "Spartan Hoplites"?

Answer: Sparta & Syracuse

If you are a Greek history nut, this would make sense because Sparta colonized both of these places in real life. Syracuse was attacked during the Palepenisian war by the Athenians, but the Spartans got wind of this and intercepted them, and trained the Syracuse warriors into what closely resembled Spartan hoplites.

This game however is set after Alexander, so of course it is after the Palepanisian war.
4. With any faction, if you play a full campaign, you must fulfill 2 objectives. One is capturing Rome, what is the other?

Answer: Capture fifty provinces

The only other thing you have to do is capture fifty other provinces; the other objectives are in short campaigns. This can be quite a feat, especially after you sack Rome with one of the houses. If your economic base is based on the other houses, your treasury goes downhill fast. So be sure you are economically independent before you take Rome.
5. What unit can only be trained by a temple?

Answer: Arcani

Arcani are the only ones trained at a temple. Priests come in Barbarian invasion after the Romans were Christian. These are almost like assassins, they are sneaky. However, they are not really strong in battle.
6. What religion are the Romans?

Answer: Pagan

This game is set at the Rise of Rome. The fall is in Barbarian invasion, so obviously, the Romans would be Pagan in this game. A Pagan is defined in Websters Dictionary as "One of a people observing a polytheistic religion, as the ancient Romans."
7. Who has the smallest empire at the start of the game?

Answer: SPQR

The SPQR only contains one province throughout the game. For those wondering SPQR stands for the "Senate and People of Rome". Although it's allies contain huge empires, this will remain the smallest.
8. You need the plebs support to take Rome.

Answer: True

Although it helps to go on the Senates missions throughout the game to get their support, and missions, you need to have the support of the plebs (common man), to march into Rome. This is what Julius Caesar did when he marched into Rome, the people loved him so much he met no resistance from the common man. The Senate was a different story.
9. You are able to capture all seven wonders of the ancient world.

Answer: True

You are able to, I have actually done it under "The Greek Cities" (Greece). For those wondering the great wall is not a wonder of the ancient world. The wonders are The statue of Zeus at Olympus, The Lighthouse of Alexandria, The Temple of Artemis at Ephesius, The Mausoleum at Halicanarsis, The Great Pyramids at Giza, The Colossus at Rhodes, and The Hanging Gardens of Babylon.

The Wonders of the World are described as what Alexander saw on his conquest, and he never made it to China.
10. Greek Cavalry are able to use the wedge formation.

Answer: False

Only Roman/Barbarian cavalry units are able to use the wedge formation. This function is very effective against any kind of light infantry unit, but the wedge formations seems to be largely a Roman thing.
