She Wears Red Feathers Trivia Quiz

She does indeed. I am, of course, referring to Kazooie, the other half of the evil-witch-fighting duo from Spiral Mountain. This quiz is about everyone's favourite loud-mouthed, wisecracking, hot-tempered avian pal.

quiz
Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. First off, what type of bird is Kazooie?

Answer: Breegull

A red-crested breegull, to be specific. She and Banjo are best friends, and although she does insult a lot of creatures she meets, a quick word from Banjo and she pipes down. In the opening scene in "Banjo-Kazooie", Banjo is asleep, and Kazooie hears the cries from Tooty as Gruntilda tries to kidnap her. Kazooie then tries to wake Banjo up, eventually making the stand that her backpack is hanging off fall to the floor.
2. Kazooie spends most of her time inside Banjo's backpack. What colour is this backpack?

Answer: Blue

From the very start of "Banjo-Kazooie" through to Mumbo's Mountain, Kazooie is confined to the blue backpack, only popping her head and wings out to attack or to help Banjo jump. When she learns the Talon Trot in Mumbo's Mountain, she can stick her feet out the bottom of the pack and carry Banjo up steep slopes.

In the next game, Kazooie is able to actually separate herself from Banjo using a special set of pads.
3. In "Banjo-Kazooie", Kazooie learned how to make herself and Banjo invulnerable for a short amount of time, by using what?

Answer: Gold feathers

Kazooie's Wonderwing move is learned in Clanker's Cavern, and she uses gold feathers to protect Banjo from harm for a short amount of time. When she uses the move, she pops out of the backpack and uses her wings to shield Banjo. The gold feathers aren't as commonly found as red feathers, so it's wise to use the Wonderwing sparingly.
4. Bottles, the ever-helpful mole, taught Banjo and Kazooie all of their moves in the first game. But Kazooie persisted in mocking him. Which of these nicknames does Kazooie NOT give Bottles in "Banjo-Kazooie"?

Answer: Ghosty Boy

Geeky, Goggle Boy, and Root Muncher were all nicknames Kazooie gave Bottles in the "Banjo-Kazooie". Ghosty Boy came around in "Banjo-Tooie", when Bottles was killed by Gruntilda. As such, the music in Spiral Mountain is no longer a lively, happy tune, but rather a dull, sad rendition of the normal theme. Fortunately, Banjo and Kazooie are able to revive Bottles at the end of "Banjo-Tooie".
5. "Banjo-Tooie" allowed Kazooie to get out of Banjo's backpack and stretch her legs by using the Split-Up ability. In which world did the duo learn this?

Answer: Witchyworld

The Split-Up ability opened up a whole network of possibilities in each world, in the duo's quest to retrieve all the Jiggies. The pair could only use the Split-Up ability after Jamjars taught it to them, and by using a special set of two pads with each of their faces on them. Once split up, the pair could learn a few more extra moves and abilities, such as Banjo's Sack Pack, and Kazooie's Wing Whack.
6. With their second adventure came a number of new items. While previously being restricted to firing blue eggs, Kazooie could now shoot a number of different eggs. Which of these new eggs did Kazooie learn to shoot first?

Answer: Fire eggs

The ability to shoot fire eggs was taught to Kazooie by Jamjars on the plateau outside the entrance to Glitter Gulch Mine. They do more damage than the regular blue eggs, and can set enemies alight for a short time. However, Kazooie is restricted to holding 50 of them, and firing two at a time.
7. By using the Ice Key to open the Ice Safe and retrieve the Mega Glowbo, Kazooie could be transformed into Dragon Kazooie. To access the safe, which world must you enter first?

Answer: Glitter Gulch Mine

The "Banjo-Kazooie" Game Pak can be found in a small cavern just outside Jinjo Village, accessed after learning the Grip Grab. Destroying the Game Pak will yield the Ice Key. The pair must then travel to the waterfall cavern in Glitter Gulch Mine and use the Talon Torpedo on the boulder marked with Kazooie's face. Going through the resulting tunnel will take them to the Icy Side of Hailfire Peaks, where the Ice Safe sits.

The Mega Glowbo must be taken to Humba Wumba in the Pine Grove for the transformation into Dragon Kazooie to occur.
8. At the beginning of "Nuts & Bolts", Banjo and Kazooie led a very lazy life. Banjo was eating pizza, and Kazooie was playing which games system?

Answer: Xbox 360

Of course, Rare was purchased by Microsoft and produces games for the Xbox consoles. As such, Kazooie is playing an Xbox 360 in the beginning cinematic. The pair's adventures on the Nintendo 64 were made available on the Xbox Live Arcade, but all references to the N64 in the game had to be replaced with Microsoft logos.
9. Instead of giving Kazooie all her moves back in this new fight against Grunty, L.O.G. gave her one simple implement, with apparent magical abilities. What was this item?

Answer: Wrench

From witch-fighting breegull, to backpack-confined wrench holder. Kazooie was not happy about this. Nevertheless, she could use the wrench to levitate objects, and to turn Wrench-It Bolts found around Showdown Town. Kazooie also uses the magical wrench in Mumbo's Motors to create the weird and wonderful vehicles that Banjo uses to navigate through each world.
10. Did Kazooie get her moves back at the end of "Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts"?

Answer: Yes

In the final cinematic, after the duo defeat Gruntilda yet again and earn the deeds to Spiral Mountain, L.O.G. also gives Kazooie her moves back, to her delight. As the pair celebrate with all their friends, they find the Jolly Dodger has painted their house pink.
