Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Using the Wind Waker, Link can use this song to change the time to midnight or midday.

Answer: Song of Passing

As suggested by the use of the titular baton, the Song of Passing enters Link's repertoire in "The Wind Waker". On Windfall Island, he'll find Tott dancing and making movements that suggest Link should copy with his Wind Waker. A successful mimic will teach Link the Song of Passing. Keen-eared players will notice the similarities between this and the Sun's Song from "Ocarina of Time" - the songs are effectively the same, only the Song of Passing has half the notes.
2. This paradoxically-learned song from the man in the windmill in Kakariko Village is used to drain the Well of Three Features.

Answer: Song of Storms

In "Ocarina of Time", once Link becomes an adult and visits Guru-Guru in the Kakariko Village windmill, he'll learn the Song of Storms. Guru-Guru will mention having heard this song seven years ago when a child played it to him. If Link returns to the Temple of Time to travel back to the past and plays the Song of Storms as a child to Guru-Guru (who, at this point, hasn't heard the song before), the windmill will speed up and drain the water out of the Well of Three Features. Link can then jump down and retrieve the Lens of Truth.

The way in which Link learns this song is evocative of the Bootstrap Paradox - he learns the song as an adult, then teaches that song to Guru-Guru as a child, who then teaches it to Link as an adult. So who composed the song in the first place?
3. After playing this divine song, Link will have access to the Thunderhead and the Isle of Songs.

Answer: Ballad of the Goddess

When Link descends from Skyloft and reaches the surface of Hyrule in "Skyward Sword", he'll learn the Ballad of the Goddess from the Old Woman at the Sealed Grounds. This will open up a stormy clouded region of the sky called the Thunderhead, inside which is the sacred Isle of Songs.

It's here that Link learns further songs for his harp that open up Trial Gates and allow him to enter the Silent Realm.
4. Playing this song on a piece of Horse Grass will summon Link's trusty steed.

Answer: Epona's Song

Epona's Song appears in almost every "Zelda" game, but it's in "Twilight Princess" that Link belts out this tune when he picks up some Horse Grass. When in his wolf form, Link can howl Epona's Song near this grass and it will have the same effect. Later on, he'll receive the Horse Call from Ilia, and he'll be able to summon Epona at will, rather than relying on finding patches of Horse Grass.
5. The Woodfall Temple rises from the waters of Woodfall once Link plays this song.

Answer: Sonata of Awakening

As its name suggests, the Sonata of Awakening (from "Majora's Mask") has the power to awaken, as evidenced by waking Captain Keeta in Ikana Graveyard. It also opens up access to the game's first dungeon, the end of which sees the first of Termina's giants freed from captivity.

Although the song is traditionally taught to members of the Deku royal family, Link learns the Sonata from a monkey imprisoned in the Deku Palace.
6. This song will transport Link to a pond near Crazy Tracy's Health Spa on Koholint Island.

Answer: Manbo's Mambo

On Koholint Island in "Link's Awakening", Link will meet a fish called Manbo near the Angler's Tunnel in Tal Tal Heights. He'll teach Link his mambo, which will transport him to his pond near the Health Spa. If this song is played while Link is dungeoneering, it will instead bring him to that dungeon's entrance.
7. Six of these songs are learned throughout New Hyrule, the majority of which restore Spirit Tracks.

Answer: Lokomo Song

Unlike most other songs in the series, the Lokomo Songs of "Spirit Tracks" are performed as duets between Link (on the Spirit Flute) and a Lokomo. Each song restores a section of the world's tracks, thus re-strengthening the restraints keeping Malladus imprisoned.

The sixth and final song is used during the final fight against Malladus to reveal his weakness. Link then distracts him so that Zelda can fire a few Light Arrows into his weak point to make him vulnerable.
8. This song, when played on the Ocarina of Time, will take Link straight to the Temple of Time.

Answer: Prelude of Light

Specifically, the Prelude of Light will deposit Link at the Triforce Pedestal. He learns this from none other than Sheik, after Saria is awakened at the conclusion of the Forest Temple. The Prelude primarily serves as a faster way to get back to the Temple of Time, so that Link can travel back in time to his childhood (and vice versa).
9. Link will be able to travel through a Time Portal to either the past or present when playing this song near one.

Answer: Tune of Echoes

The Tune of Echoes appears in "Oracle of Ages", near the beginning of the game. Link makes his way through the Forest of Time to Nayru's house, and finds the Harp of Ages in a hidden room. Shortly after obtaining it, he learns the Tune of Echoes, which allows him to travel through time.

The only catch is that he needs to be near, and then use, a Time Portal. Later on in his adventure, Link will learn the Tune of Ages from Nayru and will no longer require a Time Portal to travel back and forth.
10. This song is used on the last day and summons the giants of Termina to try and hold back the moon.

Answer: Oath to Order

The Oath to Order is only useful towards the end of the third day in "Majora's Mask", as the moon bears down upon Clock Town. Link learns it after freeing the first giant from the Woodfall Temple. The song summons the giants that Link has rescued, and together they use their strength to hold back the falling moon.

However, they will only succeed if all four have been freed from their respective dungeons (Woodfall, Snowhead, Great Bay and Stone Tower). Otherwise, they'll fail and Link will have until the end of the day to play the Song of Time and return to the first day to continue. If Link doesn't play this in time, the moon will obliterate Termina and Link will be sent back to the beginning of the first day with no progress saved - essentially, he will need to begin his entire quest again.
