Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. How many coloured types of Luma are there?

Answer: Nine

Yellow Lumas transform into Launch and Sling Stars; Green Lumas allow access to the Trial Galaxies; Blue Lumas transform into Pull Stars; and Red Lumas are found near Red Power Stars that grant Mario the ability to fly for a short time. Mario's Luma is coloured Cream, the Luma that tells you about Prankster comets is Purple, Hungry Lumas are Pink, the LumaShop Lumas are Light Blue, and Polari is the Dark Brown Luma that appears in each of the domes and also next to Rosalina at the centre of the Comet Observatory. Luma is also the name of the first Luma that Rosalina met, and the one which grants Mario his abilities.
2. Which of these galaxies is NOT found in the Terrace?

Answer: Toy Time Galaxy

The Terrace is the first dome accessible after getting the first Grand Star in the Gateway Galaxy. The galaxies in the Terrace include Good Egg Galaxy, Honeyhive Galaxy, Flipswitch Galaxy, Loopdeeloop Galaxy, and Bowser Jr.'s Robot Reactor. The Hungry Luma outside the Terrace allows access to the Sweet Sweet Galaxy.
3. The music in Honeyhive Galaxy is the same as in which of the following galaxies?

Answer: Gold Leaf Galaxy

A lively upbeat track based around xylophones accompanies the player throughout the level. The same track reappears in the Gold Leaf and Honeyclimb Galaxies later in the game. Gold Leaf Galaxy is essentially a mirror of Honeyhive Galaxy, with a few changes, namely the season is autumn instead of spring, and the cave behind the waterfall is not present.
4. How many times is Bowser fought during the first playthrough of the game?

Answer: Three

The first time you fight Bowser is at his Star Reactor, accessible from the Fountain. You encounter him again at his Dark Matter Plant, which can be accessed through the Bedroom. The final battle takes place at the Galaxy Reactor, where you defeat him once and for all.

This galaxy pays homage to a variety of different galaxies encountered throughout the game, with parts that are reminiscent of Space Junk Galaxy, Dusty Dune Galaxy and Melty Molten Galaxy, to name a few.
5. What colour do Cosmic Comets appear on the map?

Answer: Blue

Cosmic Comets affect a particular part of a galaxy, in which the player must race against their cosmic counterpart. Only four galaxies are affected by Cosmic Comets - Honeyhive, Freezeflame, Gold Leaf and Sea Slide Galaxies. If playing as Luigi, the race will be more difficult, as Cosmic Luigi will be smarter, and make substantial use of any shortcuts that are available.
6. Is it possible to shift a Prankster Comet from one galaxy to another?

Answer: Yes

If you wish to gain a star on a galaxy, but it is being orbited by a Comet, there is a way to shift it onto another galaxy. By talking to the Purple Luma between the Terrace and the Map, and feeding him 20 Star Bits, the Comet will be whisked away elsewhere, leaving you free to access the galaxy for whatever you wish. If you are like me, who wants to get the hidden star in Ghostly Galaxy, and can't face trying to beat Bouldergeist with one health point, this is a good, albeit temporary, solution.
7. Which of these is NOT a suit that you can acquire?

Answer: Bullet Mario

The Spring Suit is first seen in Toy Time Galaxy, and is used to access high places that a regular jump would not reach. The downside to this suit is it can be, at times, hard to control where you will bounce. The Bee Suit transforms the player in to a bee, and allows for levitation for a short period to time, which, like the Spring Suit, can be used to access high places.

The Ice Suit allows the player to walk on icy water and fiery lava, by creating an ice tile with each step. It also enables one to skate, which can be advantageous if trying to reach places in a short amount of time.
8. To gain access to Boo's Boneyard Galaxy, how many Star Bits must you feed the Hungry Luma outside the Gate?

Answer: 1200

It's time for another spooky race, as we meet up with our old pal, the Spooky Speedster. This time, there is no need to navigate the course using Pull Stars - Mario can transform into Boo Mario. It is interesting to note that the translation of the galaxy name in Japanese and Spanish are Death Promenade Galaxy and Lethal Stroll Galaxy respectively - far from the English name of Boo's Boneyard.
9. How many stars do you need to collect to be able to unlock Luigi as a playable character?

Answer: 120

The 120 Stars that are scattered throughout each of the galaxies are attainable by completing different tasks. Most galaxies have a hidden star on one of the planets. Other galaxies can be orbited by different types of comets, such as Daredevil Comets in which the player must complete one of the challenges with only 1 Health; Speedy Comets enforce a time limit on one of the challenges; and Purple Comets scatter a part of the galaxy with purple coins, which the player must collect 100 of the coins.
10. In which other game does Rosalina appear, as an unlockable character?

Answer: Mario Kart Wii

By attaining at a 1-Star ranking on all Mirror Grand Prix cups in "Mario Kart Wii", the player can unlock Rosalina. Alternatively, if you have a "Super Mario Galaxy" save file on your Wii, simply participate in 50 races and Rosalina will be unlocked. She is accompanied by a Luma in all her vehicles, yet it is a yellow Luma, and not Polari.
