Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. The Gate is actually the Gateway Galaxy, the galaxy you started in. There is only one mission left in this galaxy. What kind of Power Star do you get when you complete the second star in the Gateway Galaxy?

Answer: a red Power Star

All Power Stars except for ten are normal yellow Power Stars. There are three green Power Stars and all three are needed to open up the Trial Galaxies. The three green Power Stars are found in the following missions: Treasure of the Pyramid, The Secret of Buoy Base, and Luigi under the Saucer.

These three missions are found in the Dusty Dune Galaxy, the Buoy Base Galaxy, and the Battlerock Galaxy. There are also six Grand Stars found in each of the hubs except for the Garden. The first star you got in the Gateway Galaxy was a Grand Star too.

The only red Power Star is found as the other star in the Gateway Galaxy. It is red because you use the red star in this galaxy to fly and collect 100 purple coins. If you get the red Power Star, red stars will appear around the Comet Observatory. Also this is the only 100 Purple Coin challenge you can accomplish before facing Bowser for the final time.
2. The Hungry Luma next to the Gate, leads to Boo's Boneyard Galaxy. How many Star Bits can you get in this galaxy before facing the Speedster?

Answer: Seventeen

For those of you who guessed, or thought you knew, that the answer was eleven, you obviously know that you are missing six. The six extra Star Bits are found by using your spin attack on the eye holes of the skull planetoid. And for your information, ten is the amount of coins you can collect before facing the Spooky Speedster. You faced the Spooky Speedster in the Ghostly Galaxy in the mission A Very Spooky Sprint.

In this race, you had to use Pull Stars, and a Sling Star if you used it, to try and beat the Spooky Speedster to the finish.

In this race, you face the Spooky Speedster again but this time as Boo Mario. This is a pretty straight forward race as you have to dodge hitting walls and other obstacles as once again you try to beat the Spooky Speedster to the finish line.
3. The Secret Star in the Deep Dark Galaxy sounds like it was named after an old toy. What is the name of the Secret Star?

Answer: Boo in a Box

The old toy referred to the classic toy a jack in a box. This is the only time in the entire galaxy where the rules of gravity do not apply. In order to get to this star you must blow up the underwater mines that guard part of a sunken ship at the bottom of the lake. Once you do this a Launch Star will appear sending you to the small box-like planetoid.

In this small area there is a ball that rolls around with spikes, several arrows that switch the gravity, and of course a Boo. The goal is to deal with the changes of gravity until you open up a hatch that will let light in destroying the Boo who is holding the Star.
4. At the ghost ship in the Deep Dark Galaxy, the streams of light through the ceiling aren't the only way to kill the Boos.

Answer: True

The only other source of light that can eradicate the Boos is the light on the helmet of the Toad Brigade's leader. You will be at the Ghost Ship at least three times. One time is the rematch against Kamella, who first appeared in the Space Junk Galaxy.

Then you need to fight Kamella another time when the Daredevil Comet is in orbit. The last time will be for the Purple Coin challenge. The Purple Coin challenge in this galaxy is confined to the ghost ship area and is an exploration challenge.
5. The Dreadnought Galaxy seems to be similar to what previous galaxy?

Answer: Battlerock Galaxy

The Dreadnought Galaxy bears similar resemblance to the Battlerock Galaxy not because of it's appearance but because of it's stars. These stars include collecting purple coins on floating platforms, another garbage dump, and the rematch against Topmaniac and the Topman Tribe.

Instead of staying on one platform that only goes one way when taking on the Purple Coin challenge, you must navigate several platforms. Some of these platforms you'll travel on normally, and then some will be upside down, while other go straight up.

In the last leg of the mission you must avoid a constant onslaught of giant shots being fired at you.
6. You've fought Topmaniac twice before, and you'll face him two more times...or will you? What comet is in orbit when you fight Topmaniac the second time in the Dreadnought Galaxy?

Answer: Speedy Comet

You already fought him in Daredevil Mode in the Battlerock Galaxy so it makes sense that it would be a different comet in orbit. Most boss comet stars take place when a Daredevil Comet is in orbit. In fact the only other boss comet star that takes place while a Speedy Comet is in orbit is way back in the Good Egg Galaxy. You will run against time on the Dino Piranha star.

The Fast Foe comet usually only takes place when there are Thwomps and large boxes such as on the Cyclone Stone in the Beach Bowl Galaxy and on the flipswitch planets in the Toy Time Galaxy.
7. When the Daredevil Comet is in orbit in the Melty Molten Galaxy, you face Fiery Dino Piranha, the boss of the Melty Molten Galaxy, again.

Answer: False

The Melty Molten Galaxy is one of the most unique as it's comet star goes. In the game there are four Daredevil Comets and all but one of them pits you with one life segment against a boss. These bosses are Topmaniac in the Battlerock Galaxy, Bouldergeist in the Ghostly Galaxy, and Kamella in the Deep Dark Galaxy.

The Daredevil Comet in the Melty Molten Galaxy, however, requires you to travel through the entirety of the first star of the galaxy with one life segment. The first star of this galaxy is the Sinking Lava Spire.

Unfortunately, a world filled with lava and fire enemies gives you a lot of ways to get hurt easily.
8. What is the name of the star, in the Melty Molten Galaxy, in which you must roll around on a ball like in the Rolling Green Galaxy?

Answer: Through the Meteor Storm

Unlike the Rolling Green Galaxy and the Rolling Gizmo Galaxy, you do not roll around on the whole level. There is some platforming before you actually reach the ball part. When you do reach the rolling ball part, you must navigate across some square lava patches before getting to the difficult part. You must navigate a series of lava spirals that have holes in them. So in addition to avoiding these holes in the lava, you also have to gain enough speed to jump on the gray circular platforms that separate the lava spirals and the hole in which you need to drop the ball in.
9. In the Matter Splatter Galaxy, what section do you turn into Spring Mario?

Answer: Three

Yes the same annoying techniques you used in Matter Splatter Mansion in the Ghostly Galaxy will need to be used again. There are four main sections to the galaxy. The first section is basically a fast run across the matter platforms that are revealed by drops of water while avoiding the Magikoopas to reach the warp pipe on the other side.

The second section is very similar to the wall kicks you used in Matter Splatter Mansion. You must make your way upward, while avoiding dead ends. The third section can be one of the more challenging ones because as Spring Mario you must jump upward and find out where the pass-through platforms are. You only have a few chances to do this before you fall into oblivion. You will continue to go upward just like the second section until you reach the warp pipe at the top.

The last section can be fairly easy or fairly difficult depending on which route(s) you take. Some routes are just red carpet platforms while others lead to stone pillars which you must jump across while avoiding Magikoopas. Keep on heading down the platforms and the star will come into view.

This is the only one star Galaxy in the Garden hub.
10. How many flipswitches do you need to activate in the Snowcap Galaxy to open the hatch with the Fire Flower?

Answer: Five

The Snowcap Galaxy will be the last of four locations in where you must chase Star Bunnies the other locations being the Gateway Galaxy, the Gusty Garden Galaxy, and the Gold Leaf Galaxy. The Snowcap Galaxy is the last Hungry Luma Galaxy and is a pretty simplistic galaxy.

There is a small clear planetoid in which you must open a chest with a turtle shell to get to the main planet which is long and cylindrical. You must then find all three Star Bunnies within the time limit. You need the Fire Flower because one of the bunnies is hiding in a snowman. Two of the flipswitches are in plain view.

The other three are hidden under the snow which can be cleared by using the Wiimote just as if you were collecting Star Bits. The Star Bunnies are a lot easier to catch if you can lure them into the hatch at the top since it is a small area and they can't jump out.
