Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What monster will often be confused and attack its own party members?

Answer: Geckit

Land's End is a lot like Booster Pass landscape-wise. There's a lot of rocky areas that you will need to climb. In this area, the enemies are like ones you've seen previously only they're stronger and have more attacks. For instance, Chewy is a lot like the Piranha Plants from Pipe Vault, and Chows are almost like the K-9s from Bandit's Way. How can you tell them apart? They're usually coloured differently from the others. During battle, Geckits will attack themselves and each other if they're confused.

Although they won't do much damage, it might help a bit during battle.
2. If you jump into a hole in the side of a large rock cliff, you'll fall into a small cave system. What area is on the other end of this cave?

Answer: Kero Sewers

To enter the cave, simply jump into the hole (which spouts steam every few seconds). Inside, you should be able to easily avoid the enemies to the trampoline at the far end. Once you use it, you'll come up through an unused pipe in the sewers. Jump on a few pillars to claim the Cricket Jam which you can give to Frogfucius later for _____. This equippable weapon will...
3. After crossing the Sky Bridge, you'll come to an area with whirling sand pits. What type of enemy will give you directions to Monstro Town?

Answer: Rat Funk

The Sky Bridge is above the hole containing the cave to Kero Sewers. If you choose to cross it on Expert mode and you keep doubling your winnings, you can possibly win some Frog Coins (we all want that Exp. Booster from Seaside Town). Continue and a Rat Funk will tell you to go through the whirling sand pits containing the ants to advance to Monstro Town.

After doing so many (and fighting a bunch of Shoguns), you'll find an exit and a large cliff (aka Land's End). Since you can't climb it, leave and keep going through the pits until you each a cave system.

After this, you'll arrive in Belome Temple.
4. How much does it cost to have your fortune told in Belome Temple?

Answer: Fifty coins

When you delve deeper into the odd Belome Temple, you'll meet a few cloaked figures. One will tell your fortune for fifty coins, so pay and hit the statues on the wall. Keep heading through the temple until you get another head statue. If you get the phrase "Mmm I'm so hungry, I wish I had something to eat" as a fortune, take the elevator down to fight Belome, the boss from Kero Sewers. Sure, he was easy then, but now it'll be more difficult. Aside from stronger attacks and the constant hunger, Belome will eat your characters and produce evil copies of them each with their own special attacks. Also, Belome now has the knack for putting people to sleep with his Lulla-bye, Aurora Flash, and Light Beam moves. Fight these off, finish off Belome and head to Monstro Town where friendlier monsters await.
5. What is not found in the Belome Temple treasure room?

Answer: Mid Mushroom

When you first check the treasure room, Belome is sleeping in front of the doorway demanding that you give him a key to get in. Well, once you beat Belome, you can get the key in Monstro Town. Go into the doorway below the key on the ledge outside and talk to the Thwomp seven times. Pick up the key outside, and head back into Belome Temple. Get the correct fortune, and head down the elevator to feed Belome the key. Once you do this, you'll get a Max Mushroom, Royal Syrup, Fire Bomb, Frog Coins, and Flowers.
6. What types of monsters will help you scale the cliff in Land's End?

Answer: Sky Troopas

Talk to Monstermama in one of the houses in Monstro Town and she'll introduce you to Sergeant Flutter of the Sky Troopas. They'll agree to help you out and they'll be there the next time you arrive. You can either head back through Belome Temple to get back to the wall or you can head through Land's End. Either way, you're in for a long journey.

At the wall, jump onto the shells of the various Sky Troopas and head to Bean Valley where you can head 'up' to the next star!
7. What is not the name of one of the 'Three Musty Fears'?

Answer: Grimer

If you fall asleep in one of the beds in Monstro Town, the Three Musty Fears will check on you during he night and they'll start a game of "Find the Flag". They each hide a flag somewhere around the world, you find them, you go back to sleep in the same bed, and you get a prize. One will be under the bed at Mario's Pad, one will be behind the rose statue at the entrance of Rose Town, and one will be between the O and the A in the word GOAL at Yo'ster Isle.

When you get the flags and go back, they'll give you the Ghost Medal.
8. What is the most common method of traveling around Bean Valley?

Answer: By pipe

In the first bit of the area, you'll mainly be heading through different pipes, and when you finally get to a clearing, a Shy Guy will be growing some Piranha Plants (aka Chewies) in more pipes. When they grow, defeat them and travel through the pipes to get various items and enemies.
9. What is the name of the Shy Guy that will water the Megasmilax?

Answer: Shy Away

Before the battle, the Smilax/Megasmilax will look like a normal Piranha Plant or Chewy, but after a little bit of water, you'll soon realize that it's a boss (if you didn't hear the typical boss music). The heads of the plant will soon multiply and the vines will tangle and grow to form the Megasmilax. Like normal Chewies, the Smilaxes will use a quick, easily defendable physical attack as well as the secondary Drain attack.

They also have the Pollen Nap attack to put party members to sleep and Flame to attack one party member. Megasmilax has the Petal Blast attack which will do a fair bit of damage and turn your party members into mushrooms (unless you have the Trueform Pin), the S'Crow Dust attack (which turns you into a scarecrow), and the Flame Wall attack.

After the battle, the Shy Away will run away in order to escape her punishment from Queen Valentina.
10. How do you make your way to Nimbus Land for the first time?

Answer: By beanstalk

After defeating the Megasmilax, you can head into its pipe to reach a brick block. Hit the block to make a beanstalk grow, and head up to Nimbus Land. Along the way, you'll fight Birdies which are Nimbus Land guards and Heavy Troopas (which are exactly what you're thinking; they're fat Sky Troopas).

As you make your way up the various floating vines, you'll have a chance to earn some coins and items.
