Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Perry, the talking parasol who aids Peach throughout her adventure, was given to her by whom?

Answer: Toadsworth

Perry has an interesting back story, which is revealed piece by piece as you progress through the game.

He was originally a human with magical powers, found on a mountain and taken in by an old man he called "Grandpa." The two lived happily together for some time, until an evil duo met them and, knowing about the boy's powers, magically transformed the boy into a parasol. As they took him away, he managed to wiggle himself free, and laid on the ground for days without moving or speaking. Luckily, he still retained his powers, and was able to get the attention of a merchant passing by. The merchant placed him in a shop, and he eventually sold him to Toadsworth, who then gave him to Peach at the start of the game.
2. Peach's "Vibes" are necessary to access certain areas of stages. The FIRST time a Vibe must be used in order to advance, which one is the most efficient choice?

Answer: Gloom

In stage 1-1, there's a plant that you can water with your tears. This will create a vine that you can use to reach not only the next part of the stage, but also a platform above that contains coins, Vibe crystals, and even a music score.

Either of these places can also be reached by floating up with Joy, but this will drain much more of your Vibe gauge.
3. What is the name of the band that gains more members when more music scores are collected?

Answer: The Peach Hit Five

If you enter the music room, you'll see the band members you have acquired on stage in front of an audience, with a screen in the back saying "Peach Hit Five LIVE". As the name suggests, up to five members may join the band: Peach on vocals, Toadsworth on lead guitar, and three red Toads on drums, bass, and backup guitar.

I wonder if they could do a cover of the Beach Boys' "Good Vibrations"?
4. At the end of each stage, you can stop a roulette wheel to get some bonus coins. What is the MOST you can get by stopping the wheel once?

Answer: 777

Not 50! Usually you only get 50 by landing on the star, but occasionally you will instead get this nice extra boost. This alone is enough to buy an upgrade for Perry, or even extend your health meter or Vibe gauge.
5. Which of these is NOT the name of an area on Vibe Island?

Answer: Sirena Beach

Sirena Beach is on faraway Isle Delfino (from "Super Mario Sunshine"). The beach area in "Super Princess Peach" is called Wavy Beach.
6. From the beginning of the game, Peach is able to hover in midair for a few seconds.

Answer: False

Interestingly, Peach's trademark move from "Super Mario Bros. 2" did not carry over to "Super Princess Peach." Not only must this move be bought at the shop for 200 coins... Peach doesn't even do it by herself. It is only with Perry's assistance that Peach can relive her 8-bit glory days.
7. Peach's Vibes may be useful, but like many things in life, it's possible to overuse them. Which Vibe is occasionally disallowed to prevent certain challenges from becoming trivial?

Answer: Joy

If you try to use Joy in these places, ghosts will begin to swarm Peach, forcing her to the ground and out of her happiness. Without this feature, the game would be way too easy, since you could just use Joy to float over every obstacle the game has to offer.
8. After defeating Kamek in Giddy Sky, who does Peach rescue?

Answer: Luigi

Luigi is so underrated. In the intro, Bowser's minions unenthusiastically refer to him as "that green guy" but are ecstatic to have finally captured "Mario." Most bosses have Toad prisoners, whom Peach proceeds to dance with after saving them. When she frees Luigi, she does the same dance, but then drops Luigi to the ground.

At the end, when Mario is rescued, Peach and Luigi both run over to see him... but Peach is a little faster, and she bursts right through Luigi, knocking him into the air while Peach and Mario have their romantic reunion.

He's even counted as one of the Toads in Giddy Sky! I wonder if that was intentional...
9. What elusive enemy must you find and attack in three different locations to defeat?

Answer: Starfish

The Starfish, which is actually the character Starfy from "The Legendary Starfy" series, will occasionally be waiting at three particular points in the game. A message box describing the "odd enemy" is nearby each such location. Despite being referred to as an "enemy", he actually never attacks you; instead, he tries to run away.

When you enter the areas he appears in, be ready... if he's there, you won't get long to strike. Get him in all three places, and you can view him in the Glossary.
10. Before you can start the final battle, aside from clearing stage 8-5, what must you do?

Answer: Rescue all the Toads

Kinda makes you wonder... the Toads never appear anywhere during the battle. Then again, this is the only time that rescuing the Toads unlocks anything. Maybe Peach would have forgotten the Toads altogether if she found Mario first?

Doing the puzzles to unlock the areas would have been cool... but I guess "Banjo-Kazooie" already did it like that.
11. After Bowser is defeated, what supposedly becomes of the Vibe Scepter?

Answer: It ends up in the player's house

Have you ever suddenly felt a strong emotion that seemed to come out of nowhere? Maybe you can't even think what it was that made you feel that way? According to the game's ending sequence, it's possible that you just felt the power of the Vibe Scepter.

But upon watching the ending, you're probably feeling happy, since you've just beaten "Super Princess Peach"! Don't think you're done, though...
12. Which of these is NOT a reward for beating the final boss?

Answer: More levels for the mini-games

The faster attack is called the "Dashbrella", which lets you attack many times in rapid succession.

Right away after returning to your file, you unlock the Dashbrella stages 1-7, 1-8 and 1-9. If you beat the bosses of areas 1 through 7 again, you unlock new stages in areas 2 through 8. In addition, more puzzle pieces and music scores appear in place of Toads in the stages you've already played through.

It is true that you can get levels 8, 9 and 10 of the three mini-games after clearing the game, but they are hidden in the aforementioned new stages, and not a direct reward for beating Bowser.
13. Of the eight puzzles, which is the only one that does not depict Princess Peach?

Answer: Bowser's Villa

The picture of Bowser's Villa shows three Goombas affected by the Vibe Scepter: one happy, one sad, and one angry. All the other pictures show Peach in the foreground of the areas they depict, with an appropriate emotion (e.g. in Fury Volcano, she appears angry).
14. Including bosses, how many total enemies are in the game?

Answer: Eighty-nine

Each of the eighty-nine enemies can be seen in the Glossary once you defeat it. By just playing through the game normally, you should meet all of them except the Starfish, which will probably take you several tries to meet.
15. What is the last thing that will become available for purchase at the Shop?

Answer: Unlimited vibes

If you clear all puzzles and all mini-games on all levels (which you must unlock by finding pieces in the main game), the "Endless Vibe" drink becomes available at no cost. It is basically a congratulations for accomplishing everything in the game (except, as the case may be, the Glossary). It does what you would expect it to: when enabled, your Vibe gauge will never drain. Unlike other drinks, the effects of the Endless Vibe drink can be toggled by going to "Bonus" from the main menu.

The opening mini-game can actually be played at any time by holding R and pressing Start at the title screen. The goal is simply to shove Toads off the screen.

Don't you wish we could see a happy ending for Perry? His story was pretty much cut short by the end of the game...
