Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. When you start the game, you are in prison. The emperor, accompanied by his guards, The Blades, enter a secret passage through your cell, and you follow them. While in the secret passage in the sewers, some Mythic Dawn agents assassinate the emperor. But before they do, the emperor entrusts to you the Amulet of Kings, and tells you to bring it to someone at Weynon Priory. Who must you deliver the Amulet of Kings to at Weynon Priory?

Answer: Jauffre

After Uriel Septim gives you the amulet in the Imperial Sewers, he tells you to bring it to Jauffre. He is then slain in a scripted killing (meaning you can't do anything) and Baurus tells you how to escape the sewers.
2. When you make it out of the sewers, you might head over to the Market District in the Imperial City. You look for a place to buy assorted goods and you enter the Copious Coinpurse. Who is the shopkeeper there?

Answer: Thoronir

Thoronir has an associated quest - Unfriendly Competition - in which you have to follow him around to see where he gets his merchandise.

Jensine owns Jensine's Good-As-New Merchandise.
Phintias owns the First Edition Bookstore.
Sinderion runs the alchemy shop in the basement of the inn in Skingrad.
3. You decide that you want to have lots of cash so that you can buy all sorts of nice things. You here that there is an Ayleid collector who pays handsomely for any Ayleid artifacts brought to him. Who is this avid collector?

Answer: Lord Umbacano

The Umbacano quest-line is incredibly lucrative. The first quest - 'The Collector' - nets you 10,000 Septims upon completion. The second quest, 'Nothing You Can Possess' (a reference to "Raiders of the Lost Ark", by the way) isn't too profitable but the third quest - 'Secrets of the Ayleids' - allows you to get all sorts of cool items. Assuming you give Umbacano the Crown of Nenalata, you can get 1,000 Septims, the Crown of Nenalata and the Crown of Lindai (two enchanted crowns), the staff of Nenalata (a unique leveled staff) as well as all of Claude Maric's stuff (as he is likely to die, and if not, you can kill him).

This quest-line takes a while, but it's worth it.
4. Now that you have cash, you decide to continue on with the main quest-line. You go to Kvatch and find this person, who tells you he won't follow you until you close the Oblivion Gate.

Answer: Martin Septim

Martin is the heir to the throne of Uriel Septim, but before you can restore him to his throne, you need to defeat the Mythic Dawn and their Daedric Prince.
5. You must be tired from closing the gate at Kvatch, so you could use an easy question right now. Who is the Daedric Prince that the Mythic Dawn worship?

Answer: Mehrunes Dagon

Yes, Mehrunes Dagon, Daedric Prince of destruction, change, revolution, energy, and ambition, is the object of the Mythic Dawn's worship. You must defeat him before Martin can reclaim the throne.

(If you got that wrong, I'll assume it's because you didn't play the game and you're just taking the quiz so that you can memorize the answers for when they eventually show up on an hourly game.)
6. After you successfully defend Bruma from the Siege Crawler and the Great Oblivion Gate, a statue is built in Bruma honoring someone. Who is being honored?

Answer: You

That's right. They build a statue of you, glorious you, near one of the gates of Bruma. Keep in mind that the statue is built depicting you in your best armor wielding your best weapon (that you're currently carrying), so if you're picky about what you look like, pick your armor and weapon (and put away everything else) BEFORE talking to Martin after closing the Great Gate.

Some suggestions of things that look cool:

Ayleid Crown of Nenalata
Mace of Molag Bal
Necromancer's Amulet
Emperor's Robes (You must cheat for these - code is 'player.additem 00023D33 1'.)
Gray Cowl (This is funny and ironic, too.)
Skull of Corruption
Staff of Worms
Sanguine Rose
Spellbreaker
Umbra
Goldbrand
7. After you have given Martin all four things he needs to open the portal, you enter it and find yourself in a paradise. At the end of the paradise, you must battle this person, along with his son and daughter.

Answer: Mankar Camoran

Once you kill Mankar Camoran and his children, loot their corpses (If you're above level 22, make sure to snag the Mundane Ring off the corpse of Mankar's son - it's one of the best rings in the game.), get the Amulet of Kings, and you will be magically transported back to Cyrodiil, where you must then lead Martin to the Imperial City to light the Dragonfires.

For those wondering, Seridur is the vampire that you can kill in the quest 'Order of the Virtuous Blood'.
8. After Martin defeats Mehrunes Dagon, he is crowned the new king of Cyrodiil.

Answer: False

He actually dies and becomes the giant statue of the Avatar of Akatosh in the Temple District. If you rescued the prisoner (Jeelius) in the Dagon Shrine quest earlier in the game, you will find him around the statue and he will give you a one-time, permanent +1 boost to alchemy, mysticism, and restoration the first time you talk to him. Note that you can receive the Blessing of Akatosh whenever you want which fortifies Personality and Luck (20 points each) for 86,400 seconds (that is 24 hours of in-game playtime!).
9. Now that you've completed the Main Quest, become the Champion of Cyrodiil, and given so much to the people of Cyrodiil, perhaps you feel like taking something back. While in the Market District, you might see 'Wanted' posters around calling for the capture of the Gray Fox. After asking around (and maybe paying off a few people) you find discover that in order to join the Gray Fox and the Thieves Guild you have to meet this person at the Waterfront at midnight. Who is he?

Answer: Armand Christophe

Armand Christophe will initiate the quest 'May the Best Thief Win', a quest that if completed will gain you membership of the Thieves Guild. (Even if you fail this quest, he will give you another quest that I don't think you can fail.)
10. As you work your way up in the Thieves Guild, you'll need fences to hawk your stolen goods. Which of the following people is NOT a fence?

Answer: S'krivva

S'krivva is a doyen, not a fence. She'll give you assignments and get rid of your bounty for you, but you'll need to go to one of the other three to sell your stolen goods. A practical purpose for fences is if you have a stolen good, you can sell it to a fence and then buy it back from them immediately. You will lose money, but the item will no longer be marked as stolen, and thus the guards will not take it from you if you get caught doing something illegal.

Other fences include Luciana Galena and Fathis Ules.
11. Finally, you've made it to the top of the Thieves Guild and have become the Gray Fox. But who does the old Gray Fox reveal himself to be?

Answer: Count Corvus Umbranox of Anvil

The final thing the Gray Fox asks you to do is deliver a ring to the Countess of Anvil. When you do, the Gray Fox emerges and reveals himself to be the Count of Anvil, her long-lost husband. He gives you the Gray Cowl, which marks your status of Gray Fox.

The Gray Cowl is interesting, in that it gives you a second identity. Anything good or bad you do with the Gray Cowl on will not affect your fame, infamy, or bounty on your character without the Cowl. People will usual recognize you as the Gray Fox, and will act differently than they normally would.
12. After this you decide that it would be beneficial to be part of the Mages Guild, if not for the rewards, then at least to gain access to the Arcane University. One of the Recommendation quests ends with you investigating the leader of the Cheydinhal Mages Guild for practicing necromancy. Who is this treacherous leader?

Answer: Falcar

Falcar runs away and joins up with the necromancers and you get to kill him as part of a later quest. Deetsan takes over for him as head of the Cheydinhal Mages Guild.
13. Once you become part of the Arcane University, which person initially gives you quests?

Answer: Raminus Polus

Raminus Polus gives you quests at first but later you receive your orders from Archmage Traven. You encounter Irlav Jarol and Deetsan during some of your Mages Guild quests, but they don't actually initiate any quests, they just give you updates.
14. Which member of the Mages Guild commits suicide?

Answer: Hannibal Traven

Archmage Hannibal Traven commits suicide so that he can fill the Colossal Black Soul Gem with his soul. He explains that having this gem with you will prevent you from being turned into a Worm Thrall. His suicide allows you to advance to the rank of Archmage after defeating the enemies of the Mages Guild.
15. It is a dark day for you and the Mages Guild. This person has returned to Cyrodiil and threatens to destroy the Mages Guild altogether. You must go and stop him at all costs. Who is he?

Answer: Mannimarco

The final Mages Guild battle. He is actually not that hard to defeat if you have gotten a good weapon, like Ebony Blade. He drops a unique staff, The Staff of Worms, which will reanimate a corpse for 30 seconds and make it fight for you.
