Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Who is the main character of the story?

Answer: Rush Sykes

The main character is, of course, Rush. He will always be in your party. He is fiercely protective of his sister, and although called "simple" early in the game, later his selfless bravery inspires those around him. He carries a talisman which protects him from harm.
2. When adventuring alone, the main character comes across a battlefield where a fight is about to take place. Why does he run down into the foray?

Answer: He mistakes someone for his sister

Rush runs down after mistaking Emma Honeywell, a general of Athlum, for his sister. Although he does not fight in the battle directly after this cutscene, he ends up falling with Emma into an underground cavern and it's only after he mentions his surname and his search for his sister that she backs off him, since she initially thought he was a spy.
3. Which of these cities lies most southerly? (Hint: Things could get hot around here.)

Answer: Royotia

Royotia lies just a short ways south of the Great Sandsea, although you will need to traverse Lavafender to get there. Royotia is a mining town and has several sidequests, although it does not bear much importance on the actual storyline.
Celapaleis is northwest of Athlum; Undelwalt is far to the east, and Balterossa is on the northeast edge of the Great Sandsea.
4. Which of these mystic arts can be used in battle first?

Answer: Invocations

In the very first battle, Pagus, David (and other generics) will be able to use the Invocation Spark. Torgal also has Evocations initially, but that wasn't an option. Invocations primarily focus on doing direct damage to single targets, a union, or potentially multiple unions, which can make it a very helpful tool in battle.
5. Which of these could be a way an enemy union could perform a Raidlock on a friendly union?

Answer: Attacking a union which has broken deadlock to heal

Raidlock can be performed in three ways --
1) Attacking a union who has broken deadlock to heal, which is the most likely way you'll come across this.
2) Attacking a union who is casting long range spells (such as Snare Shot).
3) Attacking a union who is standing by.

Raidlock can be performed by friend and foe alike, and can help/hurt morale a lot, so be mindful of it.
6. Which of these is NOT a sidequest which involves taking a trip to the Gaslin Caves? (Note: You'll visit as part of the story very early in the game, but it expands multiple times.)

Answer: A Single Soul

"A Single Soul" is where Rhagoh is concerned over the fate of a mercenary who collects flowers to mourn his sister's death. These grow in Darken Forest, and while you won't be able to save the mercenary, you will see Rhagoh's sister, Kate, briefly. The Gaslin Caves start out as a very short area, but will expand as you obtain the later quests.
7. Where will you meet the bane of many in the early game, the Fiery Idol?

Answer: Blackdale

After following a lead about the strange men you saw at Dillmoor, the game moves to Blackdale. After completing the zone, you'll watch a cutscene of Rush's sister, Irina, being entranced by the mage Wagram into binding a massive remnant. However, your arrival interrupts her.

This fight is a difficult early boss in the story, especially compared to the previous ones, the key is to defeating its accompanying unions quickly since the boss has a mass-area devastating attack which it ceases to use once they are dead.
8. What is the name of the area high above Elysion? (Note: You visit it three times in the game, and three times only, since you can only go there as part of the story.)

Answer: The Sacred Lands

You first visit after following the Conqueror into the Ark remnant room which acts as a transport to the Sacred Lands. After finding a white room, you'll see a flashback. Next visit is in Undelwalt, where this time you will find a dark room and there are a couple of revelations. Finally, it is the final dungeon, but unlike the other times, it will be populated by monsters as you run through.
9. The game has some politics involved. For example, the Gae Bolg is only allowed to be used on a certain city's permission. What city is Athlum fighting for independence from throughout the game?

Answer: Celapaleis

Athlum is forced to defend Celapaleis from all attack and the Athlumian Generals resent the way Celapaleis treat them and their lack of authority of use over the Gae Bolg. Actually, you can use the Gae Bolg as much as you like in battle, a bit inconsistent with the story. Very late in the game, their goal for independence will finally be achieved! But then they are ordered as acting head of the Congress to go to Undelwalt to talk to the God Emperor. Ironic.
10. Who, or what, is Berechevaltelle?

Answer: A highland path

Berechevaltelle is a highland path. One can find out about it by talking to the Elysion bartendress. It connects to Mt. Vackel to the east (but this is locked for a long time) and Crookfen from the south, which connects to Melphina. The zone itself is fairly short and straightforward.
11. Emma and the main character are the only possible party members (only ones you can possibly use in your active party) at how many points of the game?

Answer: Two

Although easily forgotten, the cave at the beginning of the game is one. The second is when you are traveling through the Numor Mines to meet Rush's mother.
12. Where can you obtain the Defender weapon? (Hint: It comes before some hard fights.)

Answer: Aqueducts

It's a two-hand sword with high defense stats (varies between versions). You obtain it in the Aqueducts at Nagapur just before you engage in the medley of boss fights. It may be there to help you, but that is up to you to decide.
13. What are the names of the Conqueror's left and right hand warriors? (Hint: One talks, one does not.)

Answer: Roeas & Castanea

Roeas is a Mitra, and Castanea a giant. Roeas does most of the talking in earlier meets, since the Conqueror is usually quiet, and Castanea does not speak. Regardless of that fact, Castanea and Roeas have a strong bond in battle, as when one of them is felled, the other will gain much power and be able to attack five times as opposed to the normal one.

It is unknown what their personal motivations for following the Conqueror are.
14. What song plays as you begin the final battle?

Answer: Nisus

"Nisus" plays as you start the battle, although the morale based songs can still play. "Schismogenesis" plays once the Conqueror appears.
15. When in battle against them, which of the Seven use the special skill or spell "Galaxy"?

Answer: Ludope

Ludope casts this potentially dangerous damage spell, damaging multiple unions. The Seven are met late in the storyline, and if you have been completing optional content (ie. quests) you may have already met them. It is likely they have been brainwashed in some way by the Conqueror.
