Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Which two colours are mostly found in "Polarium"?

Answer: Black and white

Pink and auburn brown couldn't be "Polarium"'s uniform colours, because the game focuses mostly around polarity, as you may have guessed from the title and your experience with the game itself. For those of you who don't know what polarity means, it means to do with the two poles (opposites) of something, or if that's too technical for you, let's just say that it's mostly a funny way of saying opposites.
2. In Challenge Mode, when you start the game, what does the "figure" in the middle of the game board resemble?

Answer: The number one

The figure is made up by having a bunch of tiles all the one colour, and all the other tiles the other colour, making us perceive something besides just a jumble of black and white tiles. Which colour is the "figure" and which colour is the "background" is random.
3. In Challenge Mode, when a row of pink tiles hits the bottom of the game board, what happens?

Answer: The board clears and you get a Level Bonus

The Level Bonuses are a healthy ten thousand points. Another helpful factor of getting the pink tiles to hit the bottom, is that all tiles above them disappear before you get the Level Bonus. This is extremely helpful if you have that horrible beeping noise going at you and telling you that the tiles are more than halfway up the top screen.
4. While playing Challenge Mode, a chime is heard after deleting a certain amount of lines, but gameplay is not interrupted. How many deleted lines do you hear it with?

Answer: Every hundred deleted lines

This chime indicates that you've gone up a "level", and is usually heard after you get the Level Bonus, but depending on how you delete your lines, that may be different. Also when you start a new "level" you'll notice a difference in how tiles drop. For example, at the beginning of "level two" tiles will start dropping just one line at a time but the speed they drop at will increase.
5. How many Stock Puzzles (the puzzles that come with the game) are in Puzzle Mode?

Answer: One hundred

Out of these one hundred puzzles, two are greyed out before you clear them and the other forty are unlocked bit by bit by completing all the greyed out puzzles you currently have. There's also this 58 percent thing on the puzzles menu that goes up one percent every time you give some colour to a greyed out selection. Complete all the current greyed out puzzles and you unlock more puzzles until you have a grand total of one hundred.
6. How many Puzzle Mode selections (including both Stock and Custom Puzzles) are greyed out at first?

Answer: Nineteen

One hundred and fifty puzzles in all; that's one hundred Stock Puzzles and fifty Custom Puzzles. All fifty Custom Puzzles and two of the Stock Puzzles are greyed out at first (the other forty puzzles aren't even there at the beginning remember), making the answer to this question forty-two.
7. There are two optional hints you can toggle on and off in Puzzle Mode to alter the difficulty. Which of these is not one of them?

Answer: Demonstrating the solution to the puzzle on the top screen before you play it

These are toggled by touching the two little icons that resemble either a "squiggly" (squiggly for "Polarium" anyway) line or two diamonds with a forward slash between them. You should be able to guess what icon does what. :)
8. When editing your own puzzles, saving them gives you a password that you can enter in any Custom Puzzle on any "Polarium" Nintendo DS Game Card to get that exact puzzle. To make sure that there are more than enough passwords to support every clearable puzzle possible, how many digits are in the passwords?

Answer: Thirty

It'll take a while of guessing to find a password that works with having to input thirty digits. Unfortunately, entering my favourite number (fifty-two) over and over and over again in the password input to get the password 5252525252-5252525252-5252525252 doesn't work for anything.
9. Thanks to the Nintendo DS Download Play system, you can send a demo version of "Polarium" to your friends via wireless link. Which of these features in the full game is not in the demo version?

Answer: The training option for Challenge Mode

In the case you don't know, if you go to the Lounge menu and then select Wireless Link, you'll find an option to send the "Polarium" demo version and one to send or receive Custom Puzzles. The demo contains the tutorial, ten Stock Puzzles and the Versus mode. That said, you realize that Challenge Mode isn't even in the demo.
10. What is the name of the third party that helped create "Polarium"?

Answer: Mitchell

Well, I hope you enjoyed my quiz! Mitchell Corporation also created a version of "Polarium" for GBA, and some other, mostly arcade games such as "Puzz Loop", "Charlie Ninja" and "Super Buster Bros". Thanks to Kyle for that info.
