Question 1 of 10
1. Having reached my destination, I proceeded to the cave; of course I was troubled by some pesky goblins along the way. Having sighted them from a distance, I decided to make short work with a powerful area spell. I always loved killing with lots of fire! Which spell did I use against them? Hint

Question 2 of 10
2. To reach the cave, I had to cross a small pond. It was quite notorious for having a portal which summoned water elementals. Of course, I didn't want to waste my time fighting water elementals. So once again it was time for a high level spell - this time I decided to hit the elementals at the place where it hurt the most! Which spell did I cast? Hint

Question 3 of 10
3. On reaching the cave, I met the soothsayer who lived near the entrance. He was a man of great wisdom who knew a lot about this cave and of the dangers hidden in them. He told me, "In the first level, there are undead creatures who will love another addition to their club! If you were to get past them and reach the second level, then you will have lots of mages for company and in the third level, you will have to square off against the gatekeeper who has the key to the next level. My knowledge of the cave is limited till this point". Before going in, I decided to take rest. I decided to cast a spell to see if there was any hidden danger nearby. Which spell did I use? Hint

Question 4 of 10
4. Just like the soothsayer said, the first level was swarming with undead creatures. I knew I couldn't possibly fight all of them individually. I decided to use a combination of spells to lighten my work. Which of the following combinations is likely to have maximum impact? Hint

Question 5 of 10
5. Now to fight the mages; I was actually feeling quite cheeky. I decided to summon a few creatures to attack these mages. I, then, stayed back and watched the fun as those stupid mages cast spells after spells on these creatures. Which of the following creatures did I summon?
Hint

Question 6 of 10
6. In the third level, I met this weird gatekeeper who called himself 'Trick- Ques'. He asked me to duel with him. I agreed and summoned a sword. Which of the following swords should I summon? (No mental domination of the sword will be allowed). Hint

Question 7 of 10
7. On reaching the next level, I was surprised that they was no one here - absolutely no- one! There was a grand door on one end of the room. I strolled towards it and inspected it. An inscription on the door read, "The Key to this room shall forever be imprisoned far beneath the surface of the earth and he shall remain there as long as the earth exists!" What should be my next course of action? Hint

Question 8 of 10
8. Having released the person imprisoned, I asked him for the key. He told me that he (or his body) was the key. Surprised, I asked him for his help. He agreed but on a condition. He told me that he will help me if I could answer this question, "Who, during the time of Imoen, was like me - his body being the key to a great wonder (especially for mages) and just like me - he was a Ranger (a Stalker, to be precise)?" Of course, my reply would have be_________? Hint

Question 9 of 10
9. On entering the next room, I had an uneasy feeling that danger was lurking around. I decided to cast Wizard's Eye and survey the place. To my great horror, the next room contained a few Umber Hulks and Mind Flayers. Regaining my composure, I decided to follow a 'minimal direct involvement' policy. I cast a Cloudkill into the room (that took care of the umber hulks). Before the Mind Flayers followed, I summoned a few creatures to do the fighting. Which of the following is BEST suited to fight mind flayers? Hint

Question 10 of 10
10. On entering the next level, I had an uneasy feeling that this is it - this room has the 'Water Goblet'. I saw the Goblet on a pedestal near one corner of the room. As I proceeded towards the Goblet, my happiness turned to horror! The Goblet was guarded by a Guardian Creature - a red dragon, to be precise. I will have to defeat it. Which of the following moves could inflict maximum damage on the dragon, if not kill it? Hint

Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Having reached my destination, I proceeded to the cave; of course I was troubled by some pesky goblins along the way. Having sighted them from a distance, I decided to make short work with a powerful area spell. I always loved killing with lots of fire! Which spell did I use against them?

Answer: Incendiary Cloud

Incendiary cloud is a 8th level mage spell which does 1-4 points of fire damage per level of the caster each round. The cloud will last for 1 round per level of the caster. This will be more than enough to kill an army of goblins (who are generally creatures with less than 8 hit die).

Answer: Abi-Dalzim's Horrid Wilting

Horrid Wilting is very powerful against any animal with moisture in its body for this spell evaporates moisture from their body. Thus this spell is particularly brutal to water elementals, plant creatures, humanoids etc.

Answer: Detect Evil

Kindly note there are lots of ways by which you can detect any evil presence. Detect Evil is 2nd level spell.
4. Just like the soothsayer said, the first level was swarming with undead creatures. I knew I couldn't possibly fight all of them individually. I decided to use a combination of spells to lighten my work. Which of the following combinations is likely to have maximum impact?

Answer: Negative Plane Protection ->False Dawn

Casting Negative Plane protection is very necessary when fighting undead creatures like vampires (who can level-drain your character). Since all undead have a natural weakness for sunlight, a few False Dawns (a cleric spell) will automatically clear the field. There are lots of spells which can replace the role of a False Dawn (e.g. Sunray).
5. Now to fight the mages; I was actually feeling quite cheeky. I decided to summon a few creatures to attack these mages. I, then, stayed back and watched the fun as those stupid mages cast spells after spells on these creatures. Which of the following creatures did I summon?

Answer: Hakeashar

Hakeashar and Nishruu are very effective summons against mages because these creatures are immune to magic (magic will actually heal the creature). The 'Summon Hakeashar' is 7th level spell and Hakeashar has immunity to normal weapons
6. In the third level, I met this weird gatekeeper who called himself 'Trick- Ques'. He asked me to duel with him. I agreed and summoned a sword. Which of the following swords should I summon? (No mental domination of the sword will be allowed).

Answer: Phantom Blade

Enchanted Weapon is a level 4 weapon - however it needn't be a sword. Phantom Blade is a level 5 sword. Mordenkainen's Sword is a level 7 sword; however it is a mentally dominated sword (which doesn't count in this instance). Black Blade of Disaster is technically the best sword that can be summoned.

However there is a small problem - When an attack with this sword is made, there is a chance that the enemy is disintegrated. When a person is disintegrated, there is a chance that the items he is carrying also gets disintegrated (and thus lost for ever).

In this case, after I beat 'Trick-Ques' (Don't say I didn't warn you that this is a Trick question), I have to take the key from his body. So I may be able to kill my opponent with Black Blade but there is a risk that I will lose the key for ever!

Answer: Cast 'Freedom' in the area near the door

Freedom is the ONLY spell which counters the Imprisonment spell. Both are 9th level spells. There is no spell called 'Earth Breaker'.

Answer: Valygar Corthala

Valygar was the key to the Planar Sphere, which can be found at Slums. Of course, after you completed the Valygar quest, anyone can enter it.

Answer: Animate Undead

Mind Flayer's modus operandi involves attacking the enemy with psionics (thereby stunning him/her), then devouring his/her brain (draining his/her intelligence) till he/she dies. With Undead, this modus operandi doesn't work (after all they don't have brains!).

Answer: Pierce Shield -> Meteor Swarm

While summoning creatures is useful while fighting Dragons (the dragon might use up its special attacks like Breath etc on the summoned creatures), they are NOT likely to help you in actually reducing the Dragon's hit points drastically. A dragon has a high magic resistance, so before you attack him, it might be necessary to reduce his magic resistance. For this Pierce Shield (Level 8 spell) is most useful. With respect to damage, a Red dragon is immune to fire damage - so invoking an incendiary cloud isn't likely to help! Back to the story- having killed him, I was about to pick up the Goblet when a spirit appeared before me and warned me against handing the Goblet to the Council (who, it seems, planned to conquer Amn with the help of this goblet).

The spirit disappeared and I did what I felt I should do.
