The Wii is a revolutionary system that has sold out in nearly all stores after its release. The Wii is so popular, because anyone can play it, not just hardcore gamers. Its easy control makes the game easy, basic, and fun for anyone who has never played a video game before.
2. When was the Wii released in North America?

Answer: November 19, 2006

When the Wii hit stores, it was an instant hit. People stood in line for hours to receive a Wii. In fact, by April 2007, only 6 months after the Wii was relesed, it had sold nearly 6 million units.
3. How much did the Wii cost in the United States of America when it first came out?

Answer: 250 dollars

Another reason that the Wii sold so many copies, is because of its affordable price. It cost much less than Microsoft's Xbox 360 and Sony's PlayStation 3.

Nintendo had to recall over 3 million Wiis, because the wrist strap was breaking, allowing the Wii-mote to slip out of people's hands and crash into the television. Nintendo made the plastic protecting the strap from breaking stronger, and put warnings in the instruction booklet about proper usage of the Wii-mote.
