The Metal Mario Ace spirit is a real doozy, just as fighting Metal Mario was in "Super Smash Bros Melee"! Thankfully, the fight is straightforward: simply beat down a Metal Mario on a Battlefield stage. Items will spawn, and the Final Smash Meter is on for both sides. If a player would rather make direct use of the Metal Mario spirit than use it to summon Golden Mario, this is definitely not a bad idea: Metal Mario has great stats, a useful trait in increasing the player's weight, and has two support spirit slots.

Answer: Ganon

Ganon is a support spirit, unlike other spirits based off bosses in the Dark Realm. Ganon is also unique in that there is another Ganon spirit, named "Beast Ganon", reflecting Ganon's persona in "Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess", whereas the Ganon in this context reflects Ganon's persona in "Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild".

Answer: Giratina-O and Shaymin-S

Giratina-Origin is the enhanced version of Giratina-Altered, while Shaymin-Sky is the enhanced version of base Shaymin. It is interesting that fellow cover legendaries Palkia and Dialga were not given the same treatment as Giratina was, especially seeing as how the former two have comparable Base Stat Totals to both Giratina forms in mainstream "Pokemon" games.

The same could be said about Darkrai.

Answer: Jack Levin and Blood Falcon

Black Shadow and Samurai Goroh are Legendary spirits who represent the "F-Zero" franchise. Meanwhile, Blood Falcon and Jack Levin got the nod to rep the series as Ace ranks.

While it may seem like Lyn may have been short-changed, for a character with such reputation, fret not! Lyn has an enhanced spirit version, called "Lyn (Blade Lord) which is significantly better than base Lyn and is up there for one of the better primary spirits in the whole game.

It's unfortunate that Lyn's fellow veteran assist trophies in Waluigi and Nintendog didn't get the same treatment.

Answer: Shadow the Hedgehog

Wolf, thankfully, did return to this game as a playable character. Waluigi fits the criteria of most of the above, with the exception that Waluigi is not a Legendary spirit. This designation belongs to Shadow the Hedgehog- with the Super Shadow spirit attaining Legendary status.

Answer: Wily Capsule

Dr Wily does have a support spirit dedicated directly to his own character, though this is not an Ace spirit, it is a Legendary spirit. Wily's Capsule is therefore the correct choice.

Answer: Chun-Li

M. Bison and Guile are Legendary spirits and begin as such, rendering them incorrect. Chun-Li is a Grab type spirit who begins as an Advanced rank spirit in her "Street Fighter Alpha" persona.

Answer: Ancient Minister

Galleom and Duon are both Advanced rank spirits, while Tabuu is a Legendary. The Ancient Minister, a key piece of the Subspace Emissary story, comes as an Ace ranked spirit. In order to unlock it, fittingly, you must defeat a small army of R.O.Bs on the Halberd stage, with a condition consisting of the stage flipping upside down periodically throughout the battle.

The Ancient Minister can be obtained either through the World of Light campaign or via hunting on the Spirit Board.

Answer: Cranky Kong

Cranky Kong is a key hand in "Donkey Kong 64" as well as other "Donkey Kong" games. Unfortunately, he comes with a nasty trait of lowering your speed if you should choose him, rendering him as a lesser-than Ace rank.
