It is often revealed that Flowey was the object Asriel's ashes hit when he died resulting in the flower becoming a sort of new vessel for Asriel's soul. Asriel's death was the result of him bringing back the dead child, Chara, to which the humans responded by attacking and eventually killing Asriel.

The route taken depends on who you choose to spare or kill. Genocide is generally when you kill everyone or almost everyone, though beware-- in genocide Sans is more than unfriendly when, or if, you kill his little brother.

Sans, the short one who is always cracking a pun or two, is very protective of his younger brother, Papyrus. Papyrus is the taller sibling who wants to be a part of the royal guard and loves to make spaghetti though no one seems to like his cooking.

Though Gaster is not someone generally seen in the game, but you can find him. When he is found however he does not go for an attack nor talk to you.
