Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What is the name of the Alliance town in this zone?

Answer: Refuge Pointe

Although all of the listed possibilities are Alliance-based cities and towns, only Refuge Pointe is found in the Arathi Highlands. Located in (pretty much) the center of the Arathi Highlands, Refuge Pointe is situated on the former location of Stromgarde, a major city for Human forces.

Although players can't find an inn here, they can find a flightpath and a number of traders for any necessary buying and selling at this point. A number of characters from the League of Arathor are also found here, so players planning to explore the PvP battleground around here can stop in.
2. Hammerfall is in which compass direction from the center of the zone?

Answer: Northeast

Hammerfall is the only Horde-based town in the Arathi Highlands, found in a fortified area in the northeast corner of the zone. Here, players can use the flightpath or the local traders and trainers to advance their characters, but there are also a number of NPC quest-givers for players from level 30 through to level 40, crossing the entire level span of the zone. Unlike Refuge Pointe, Hammerfall contains an inn and a hearthstone location, though of course it's only for Horde players.

The ruler of Hammerfall is the Orc by the name of Drum Fel.
3. Which of these locations is not in the Arathi Highlands?

Answer: Gahrron's Withering

Gahrron's Withering is a farm found far to the north of the Arathi Highlands in the Scourge-driven zone known as the Western Plaguelands. Players will visit it when completing cauldron quests for either The Bulwark or Chillwind Camp. Rgeardless, the other three options are all field locations in the Arathi Highlands; each one is connected to the others via the paths which stretch across the zone.

Many of the farms are filled with members of the Syndicate, a crime organization basing themselves in a number of the northern zones in the Eastern Kingdoms. Most of thee will be in the low level 30s. Go'Shek Farm is in the southeast of the zone while the other two are along the northern cliffs.
4. Which of these hostile unit can not be found in Witherbark Village?

Answer: Witherbark Rogue

Witherbark Village, found along the cliffs and around a small lake in the southeastern corner of the Arathi Highlands, is a village overrun by the Witherbark Troll tribe. Due to their southerly location, they are also somewhat allied with the Boulderfist Ogres slightly to the west at Boulderfist Outpost.

A number of small huts can be found around the lake to the southeast, and while many of the enemies here will only be around level 33/34, there is a rather large concentration of them the further southeast (towards the cliffs) you go.

A cliff can be found in the mountains adjacent to the village though it's not necessary for most players to visit.
5. What faction group can be found at Faldir's Cove?

Answer: Blackwater Raiders

Faldir's Cove can be accessed by either swimming around the southwest coast of the zone or by walking through a cave (and still, through the water) in the same area. Here, players can find a Blackwater Raider ship and a number of friendly pirate NPCs, some of which will be glad to pass along some quests for level 40 players.

The Blackwater Raiders hail from the Booty Bay area in Stranglethorn Vale. In addition to this small nook, Faldir's Cove also harbors a sunken shipwreck infested with Daggerspine Naga forces.

Although this feature is of little use, it's still just another shipwreck for the seasoned "World of Warcraft" divers.
6. Which of these circles contains fire elemental creatures?

Answer: Circle of West Binding

These four circles of stones are reminiscent of Stonehenge in the UK due to their nature across the Arathi Highlands. All four are swarming with elemental creatures of different types. The West contains fire elementals, the East contains water elementals, the Inner Circle contains earth elementals, and the Outer Circle contains wind elementals. Quests for these unique features can be found from each factions respective quest hubs, whether it be Refuge Pointe or Hammerfall.

The East and West Circles can be found along the northern portion of the map while the Inner and Outer Circles are in the south-central region.
7. Which of these locations is not in Stromgarde Keep?

Answer: The Reliquary

Stromgarde Keep is a large castle found in the southwest corner of the zone, and its original function as a capital city for human forces has fallen by the wayside in lieu of its near-destruction. The Syndicate occupies the Crypt, one of the many regions of this area, and it's used as one of their major bases of operation. Boulderfist Ogres have taken up a home in the Tower of Arathor, one of Stromgarde Keeps most notable features. Additionally, the remaining human forces of Stromgarde can be found in the Sanctum, the final area in the fort. The Reliquary is a subzone of the Western Plaguelands instance, Scholomance, and it makes no appearance in the Arathi Highlands whatsoever.
8. Which faction controls Trollbane Hall in the zone's battleground, the Arathi Basin?

Answer: Alliance

The Arathi Basin is the second (typically) of the battlegrounds visited in the span of the original "World of Warcraft" game. Accessible from Refuge Pointe and Hammerfall, players as low as level 20 can jump in to fight other players and complete PvP quests assigned to their level range. Trollbane Hall, the Alliance main city for this area, is in the northwest while the Defiler's Den, a Horde area, is in the southeast. Up to fifteen players can fight for each faction in one specific instance of the area.

In the nearby Alterac Mountains, players can find a much more difficult battleground, Alterac Valley, for up to 40 players on each side.
9. The Arathi Highlands only borders two zones: Hillsbrad Foothills and which other?

Answer: Wetlands

Players can enter and exit the Arathi Highlands from the northwest feature known as Thoradin's Wall, a large barrier with a single opening to and from Hillsbrad Foothills. In the other direction, players can go back and forth between Arathi and the Wetlands to the south via Thandol Span, a large bridge across a deep chasm.

Although Refuge Pointe and Hammerfall connect to nearby regions via flightpath, these two major structural features are waypoints for any 'on foot' travelers in the Eastern Kingdoms region. Thandol Span also separates the Lordaeron from Khaz Modan.
10. The Arathi Highlands contains no instanced dungeons.

Answer: True

Not only do the Arathi Highlands have no instances, but both adjoining regions, Hillsbrad Foothills and Wetlands, have no instances either! For players looking to hop into a dungeon, Silverpine Forest contains Shadowfang Keep, a relatively lower-level dungeon than most, in its southern region. Additionally, Dun Morogh, which connects to the Wetlands in the south, contains the similarly-leveled dungeon Gnomeregan.

Other than these, players will need to head to the northern regions of the Eastern Kingdoms for the higher-level stuff.
