Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Cenarion Hold is an Alliance-centric town.

Answer: False

Cenarion Hold isn't just a neutral zone, home to Alliance and Horde alike, but its the only town found in the zone containing most of the traders and services you'll need in your explorations. Almost all of the quest-givers in the area can be found here and they'll take you all around Silithus. Players here will typically be of a higher-level range due to the requirements of the areas before. Players here will usually be between levels 55 and 60.
Cenarion Hold is run by Commander Mar'alith, who also heads the Cenarion Circle.
2. What is the name of the odd dust which can be collected throughout the zone?

Answer: Silithyst

Silithyst ties into the World PVP portion of Silithus, one of the only ones in the 'vanilla' version of "World of Warcraft". In this, players from both factions can compete to collect more Silithyst from around the zone and bring it back to their respective bases to get the points to count. Doing this will, in turn, give players buffs brought on by the Cenarion Circle in Cenarion Hold. Whichever team gets 200 Silithyst first wins the largest buff.

The only other area in the original "World of Warcraft" to accommodate for World PVP is the Eastern Plaguelands though many areas in the "Burning Crusade" expansion have similar activities. Silithus is obtained from geysers.
3. What colour is the drake which can be seen from Staghelm Point?

Answer: Bronze

Staghelm Point is found at the northeast corner of Silithus near the border. A tower at this location rests at the top of a steep path on the cliffside. At the top of this, a single NPC waits to give information and players can find an Elite Bronze Drake, the Brood of Nozdormu (at level 62).

This dragon is not necessary for quest chains in the area, but it's just another to spot (or defeat) in your travels. At the base of the path through the mountains, players will find the Twilight's Hammer encampment containing a number of high-level NPCs though all of these can be avoided if players just want to reach the tower. Twilight's Run, a cave, is found slightly to the north.
4. Which of these can not be found in Silithus?

Answer: Hive'Nowa

Hive'Nowa sounds awfully similar to a Troll encampment in northern Eastern Kingdoms...
The Hive areas of Silithus are large, obscure places home to a number of different bug creatures. Similar to caves found in the Tanaris (also in Kalimdor), these areas also contain expansive labyrinthine paths. Amidst the Workers, Defenders, Sandstalkers, and Swarmers of these areas usually rests a leader. Hive'Ashi, for example, contains the rare boss Rex Ashil. All three cave systems in Silithus contain a number of quest paths which begin in Cenarion Hold.
5. Which of these creatures is not found in Silithus?

Answer: Unstoppable Abomination

Unstoppable Abominations are only found in the higher-level dungeon, Naxxramas (affectionately known as Naxx to seasoned players), so they're nowhere near Silithus for the most part. Dust Swarmers are odd elemental creatures, San Skitterers are large spiders, and Dredge Strikers are serpents. All three of these creatures are found in various regions of the zone in different forms. Occasionally they'll be a bit higher-level than most enemies in the earlier versions of "World of Warcraft", but for the most part, they'll only reach as high as level 58 or 59.
6. In which of these places can you find a Ravaged Twilight Camp?

Answer: The Crystal Vale

The Crystal Vale is in the northwest corner of the Silithus map. Covered with rock elementals of various types, this area is usually relatively empty unless you're on a collecting quest or you need to defeat the foes in the region. Nestled in the corner is the aplty-named Ravaged Twilight Camp, a small ruined base containing a sole NPC character.

Many other filled Twilight Camps can be found around Silithus, one near Staghelm Point, and another two north of the Ironforge Brigade Outpost in the west. All of these contain near level-60 enemy units.
7. What is the name of the Horde counterpart to the Ironforge Brigade Outpost?

Answer: Orgrimmar Legion Camp

While the Ironforge Brigade Outpost rests on the west side of the sole path in Silithus, the Orgrimmar Legion Camp rests to the east near Hive'Regal. Both posts are necessary for collecting Silithyst in the region and players who harvest some will need to return it to their respective camp to get the point for World PVP purposes. Both areas are entirely hostile to the opposing faction, so you should only need to approach one or the other. Of course, attacking enemy players in possession of Silithyst (you'll tell between them when they carry the mineral) is fine. You can pick up any dropped mounds you find if it helps.
8. What can be found on the Scarab Dais?

Answer: A gong

When you reach the Scarab Dais in the far south of Silithus (near the dungeons at the end of the path), you will find a single NPC (Jonathan the Revelator) and the Scarab Gong. Hitting this gong for a quest chain enables the player to enter the Gates of Ahn'Qiraj to the south, thereby entering the dungeons for this zone.

This should only be attempted for high level players. Because of the nature of the quests which follow, this probably should not be attempted until the player is level 60 or above.

The Scarab Dais is beside the Scarab Wall to the south and the Twilight Outpost to the north.
9. Silithus only connects one other zone. What zone is it?

Answer: Un'Goro Crater

A relatively isolated area, Silithus rests at the bottom left-hand corner of the map of Kalimdor. Although players can fly here from any other city in the continent (making connections at various locations), the only way in and out is through Un'Goro Crater to the east. Taking a small, oft-unnoticeable path through the western mountains of Un'Goro, players can take the road past Staghelm Point into the rest of the zone. Even flightpaths coming to Cenarion Hold will need to go through Marshal's Refuge in Un'Goro Crater or Feralas. Feralas borders Silithus to the north, but both are separated by a large mountain range.
10. Which is commonly regarded as the higher level vanilla "World of Warcraft" raid in Silithus?

Answer: Temple of Ahn'Qiraj

Players who follow the path straight down through Silithus will inevitably arrive at the doorstep to the zone's two raid locations, the Gate of Ahn'Qiraj (home to the Temple and Ruins of the same name). The Ruins of Ahn'Qiraj are the lower level area with a recommended 20-players cap. Ossirian the Unscarred waits at the end of the Ruins.

The Temple of Ahn'Qiraj, on the other hand, is regarded as more difficult. Instead, it takes a max of 40 players to beat. Both areas are for players level 60 and up, meaning that players at max level in the original "World of Warcraft" were most welcome here.

These instances were added to Silithus in a patch released mere months before "Burning Crusade".
