Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Playing off of the abrupt ending to Episode Three, you are (assuming you did not immediately kill them) confronted with the choice of whether or not to allow two new survivors into your community, or to turn them away. What are their names?

Answer: River and Starr

River and Starr are an old couple who have been together for a long time. You ultimately get the final say on their status. If you turn them away, they are never heard from or seen ever again. Starr will attempt to persuade you and the group in favor of allowing them to stay by mentioning her experience as a doctor, citing your group's lack of such professions.
2. One of the survivors who tries to join your community mentions having experience as a doctor. Is this the wholesome truth?

Answer: No

Starr is a chiropractor, a profession which is significantly less useful than she had suggested in being a doctor. This is discovered at the worst possible time. If you failed to stop Carl from beating Jason into submission, the group will turn to Starr to help stop the probable internal bleeding.

Unfortunately, she casually suggests that all she can do is check Jason's spine for any fractures. This discovery comes at the dismay and mass disapproval of the others in the group.
3. After discovering that Candace cheated on him with Jason, Carl ultimately confronts Jason at the Sanctuary to get up in his face. The outcome of this is predictably not good. Which of the following can NOT happen?

Answer: Carl shoots Jason

No matter what you do or where you are, Carl will ultimately attack Jason. Jason will be extremely snotty while Carl tries to reason with him, and this snottiness pushes Carl over the edge. In fact, the game describes it as "(Jason's) words seem to be the final straw; the opening gunshot of the race that sets Carl off." As Jason utters his last remark, Carl will lunge at Jason and begin to attack. If you decided to accompany Uncle Lou to the Sanctuary, you can potentially save Jason if either your intelligence score is at least a 20 or your strength score is at least a 20. If one of these benchmarks is met, simply restraining Carl will work, and he will be pulled off of Jason by you and Uncle Lou before he can do much damage to Jason. If, however, you did not accompany Uncle Lou to the Sanctuary, he will be unable to restrain Carl by himself, and Carl will knock Jason unconscious, before he eventually succumbs to the internal bleeding. If you did accompany Uncle Lou, but your intelligence isn't at least a 20, or your strength isn't at least a 20, you both fail to restrain Carl, and the same thing happens. Regardless of how this plays out, Carl will be subdued eventually and locked away in his room, forced into an essential house arrest.
4. If you agree to listen to what Carl has to say after he asks you to visit him, what does Carl tell you?

Answer: Tom is conspiring against you to try to get you killed

Carl suggests that Tom has been sending you on high stakes missions with the hopes that you would be killed in the middle of said missions. Carl also suggests that Tom thinks you are a threat to his authority in the Cathedral, and believes this is Tom's motive for wanting you gone.
5. If you choose to visit the semi abandoned camp that seems to have lootable supplies, you actually discover it is not abandoned in the slightest; this place is heavily guarded. What's more, it has prisoners. Kelly and Crone are being held captive. You can potentially break them out, but doing so will require you to meet a specific benchmark beforehand. What is this benchmark?

Answer: 25 for intelligence

With a score of 25 for intelligence, you can disable the camera which is being used to ensure that the duo can't escape. With the camera down, you can now enter the prison they're being held in to release them. If you don't possess a score of 25 for intelligence, or simply ignore the camera, it becomes impossible to save Kelly and Crone.
6. If you did not help Carl to escape the Cathedral, who ends up being the person who did?

Answer: Heather

You are only able to discover this if you entered the Old Pine Woods to search for food with Heather. Your reaction to this news significantly impacts your relationship with Heather.
7. In the midst of the Old Pine Woods mission, you come across a German Shepard, which you take home with you. What is the dog's name?

Answer: Toby

Toby helps boost your group's morale score significantly, and I do mean significantly, if you bring him home. You can shoo him away or drive him away, but this is not recommended unless you are attempting to earn the "Callous Soul" achievement. If you were trying for the aforementioned achievement, then it actually becomes recommended to dismiss Toby, as doing so will reduce your humanity score noticeably.
8. If you were trying to achieve the Weapon Master achievement, this Episode requires you to play a certain mission in order to find a Pistol Crossbow, a weapon you can't get anywhere else. What mission are you required to play to get this weapon?

Answer: Talk to Emma about her secret

The Pistol Crossbow is a fairly useful short distance weapon, as it is silenced and has solid range. Not as effective as the AK-47, but still holds its own. In particular, this weapon is a godsend for non military classes. It is obtained by going as deep as you possibly can into the catacombs with Emma. Be prepared to take a minor hit to your relationship score with her, however, as getting here requires the player to force Emma deeper inside against her will.
9. The first major hit comes to the Cathedral defenses, as bandits attack. After warding away bandits, you have no time to repair your walls before a vicious zombie horde comes onto the scene. Here, you can choose to allow the bandits into your walls, to prevent them from being killed by these zombies. If you don't, they are predictably killed, but if you do, at the end of it all, only the leader of the bandits is left. He will request to join your group after the chaos has passed. What is his name?

Answer: Badger

Badger seems to be grateful of your decision to save his life. However, he has a funny way of showing it. Should you choose to allow him to stay, he is later found making sexist remarks towards Mindy, suggesting that women shouldn't be in leadership. He walks around the cathedral shirtless, with pants that sag so low that you can almost see his groin.

He gives degrading names to other survivors, such as when he refers to Uncle Lou as "the fat one handling the food" and when he calls Heather "feisty" as if to subtly hit on her. Overall, Badger is arguably more trouble than he's worth at first, but if you manage to keep him around until the end of the game, he can prove helpful.
10. When you originally arrived at the Cathedral in Episode One, Tom was the leader of the group. This was fitting, since he is the owner of the Cathedral. However, things changed in this Episode, and someone else is the leader. Who is it?

Answer: You

After the bandits attack the Cathedral, Mindy will praise your efforts, and in doing so, she essentially transfers the leadership role over to you. Mindy takes over for Tom earlier in the Episode, but she does not do a very good job with it and is criticized behind her back about it. Ultimately, the survivors seem pleased with you taking leadership, although Uncle Lou finds the arrangement to be silly, given that he thinks you are going to leave the Cathedral soon.
