Answer: Spanish Steps

The Spanish Steps consist of 135 steps and link the Piazza Trinita dei Monti to the Piazza di Spagna. They were constructed between 1723-1725. They are one of the most popular tourist sites in Rome.

The Helix staircases are located in the Vatican Museum and are two intertwined spirals.

The Scala Sancta is believed to be the staircase that Jesus climbed on route to his trial, and is a popular pilgrimage site.

Finally, the Cordonata is located on Capitoline hill and was designed by Michelangelo. The staircase is wide enough that horse riders can ride the staircase without dismounting.

The mosaic runs for 163 steps and consists of over 2000 tiles and 75000 fragments. The design features suns, the sea, starfish and shells.

San Francisco has some of the steepest streets in the world, as does fellow Californian city Los Angeles.

The Tulip staircase is located in The Queen's House and is part of the National Maritime Museum in Greenwich. The house was designed by Inigo Jones, and the staircase was the first self-supporting geometric spiral staircase in the United Kingdom. The house was built for Queen Henrietta Maria, wife of Charles I and it is believed that the flowers are meant to be fleur-de-lis, an emblem of her House of Bourbon family.

The rose was a symbol for both the Tudors and Plantagenets, and the daffodil is a symbol of Wales.

The Great Fire of London started on September 2, 1666, and was finally extinguished four days later. It devastated most of the medieval city and by the time it was out it is believed that 70,000 of the 80,000 residents lost their homes. Over 13,000 houses, 87 parish churches and St Paul's Cathedral were destroyed. This led to the Christopher Wren churches that are widely admired today.

1671 saw the start of building of the Monument, while 1066 was another significant year for England (the Battle of Hastings occurred that year).

1566 was a significant year for Great Britain. Queen Elizabeth the first gave a speech to Parliament angrily refusing to marry. In Scotland, Rizzio, the secretary of Mary Queen of Scots was murdered in front of him. Later that year she gave birth to her son James (later known as James VI of Scotland and James I of England).

Fira is located on the rim of a caldera, left by a volcanic eruption approximately 3500 years ago. The height of the caldera is 400 metres high, and around 4 miles in diameter. The path up to the town zigzags up the slope. It is possible to reach the town by riding on a donkey or catching a cable car to the top.

While the other answers are all geographical features, neither glaciers or whirlpools are located on Santorini.

Answer: The Sydney Harbour Bridge

The Sydney Harbour Bridge was officially opened in 1932. It is 1149 metres long and 134 metres high. It is the sixth longest spanning arch bridge in the world. Affectionately known as the "coat hangar" due to its shape it is the centre of Sydney's New Year's Eve celebrations. There are several versions of the bridge climb, with at least one person aged over 100 having completed it.

Also located in Sydney Harbour is the iconic Opera House. It can be see from the Harbour Bridge and has an impressive staircase leading to the forecourt area.

The Eiffel Tower can also be climbed up to the second level (there are 300 steps between the ground and the first level, and another 300 to the second level) but most people take the internal lifts. The staircase to the third level is closed to the public for safety reasons.

Mount Sugarloaf overlooks the beautiful Brazilian harbour of Rio de Janeiro and cable cars operate to take visitors to the top.
