1. How old was Jack Daniel when he began making whiskey?

Answer: 9 years old

Jack Daniels was only 2 years old when his mother died. When his father remarried, Jack ran away and was eventually taken in by a Lutheran preacher, Reverend Dan Call. Brother Call owned a general store and manufactured whiskey. Jack learned the whiskey trade by becoming an apprentice at Call's whiskey distillery.
2. What was the origin of the secret method for making Jack Daniel's whiskey?

Answer: Nearest Green, an African American slave.

Nearest Green was owned by Reverend Call and taught Jack Daniel the traditional methods for manufacturing authentic Tennessee whisky.
3. How did Jack Daniel end up running his own distillery?

Answer: He bought it from a Reverend whose wife demanded he focus on preaching, rather than whiskey manufacture.

The Reverend Call's wife believed that her husband needed to focus more on preaching than whiskey distilling, so he sold his business to Jack Daniel.
4. How old was Jack Daniel when he acquired his first distillery?

Answer: 13 years old.

Answer: Square.

For years Southern whiskey was sold in jugs, but as bottles became more popular Jack Daniel began to look for a unique design.
