1. When did the Mercury Cougar makes its debut in America?

Answer: 1967

Mercury was the more luxurious division of Ford. As such, many people considered the Cougar to be a like a Mustang but a lot more elegant. The most powerful Cougar was the GT 390.
2. When the Chevrolet Monte Carlo debuted in 1970 how much torque did it have?

Answer: 500 foot pounds

The Monte Carlo was labeled a two door luxury car. Even though it had 360 horsepower and a single four-barrel carburetor. You might have expected more with all that low end torque, considering that the Monte Carlo had a 7.4 liter V8.
3. How many engine and transmission options did the 1965 Buick Riviera Gran Sport come with?

Answer: One

People were content with just the one available engine and transmission option. The Riviera Gran Sport made over 350 horsepower and over 450 foot pounds of torque. Many auto enthusiasts consider its three speed automatic the best transmission ever designed.

Answer: Rambler

The Rambler Rogue debuted in 1966. The Rambler used a V8 typhoon motor. The Rambler was later replaced by the Hornet. American Motor Corporation was taken over by Chrysler in 1987.

Up until 2002 you could buy a new Pontiac Trans Am or Firebird. Chevrolet Camaros are now back on the market after a short hiatus. The Camaro and Trans Am have always been considered brother and sister cars. In the 1970s, when almost all cars started to be downgraded horsepower wise, Pontiac was giving the Trans Am more power.
6. When did Chrysler decide to do away with its first generation Hemi model?

Answer: 1959

The original Hemi was replaced in 1959 with a 413 cubic inch V8. It was nicknamed the "Max Wedge". Supposedly the engine was deigned to be used in police pursuit work. That didn't really happen and this car became a favorite at the drag strip.
7. How many models of the Oldsmobile 442 were available in 1968?

Answer: Three

There were three models to choose from in 1968. You had either the hardtop, convertible or sports coupe models to choose from. All the Oldsmobile 442's made during 1968 had 400 cubic inch V8s but they all had different horsepower specs.
8. What car was the Plymouth Barracuda's design based on?

Answer: Plymouth Valiant

The first Plymouth Barracuda was made in 1964 with just a 4.4 liter V8. It really transformed from the compact car that was the Plymouth Valiant. By 1967, the Plymouth Barracuda was sporting a 6.2 liter V8.
9. How much horsepower did the base model 1967 Chevrolet Chevelle have?

Answer: 325

The regular Chevrolet Chevelle used an L35 V8 with 325 horsepower. No 375 Horsepower optioned engines were available in 1967. However, if you were up to it you could buy all the parts at a dealer and build the L78 375 horsepower motor yourself.

Answer: Dodge Dart

When the Dodge Dart debuted in 1968 buyers had two V8s to choose from. The larger V8 at the time had 300 horsepower. The following year, the 383 cubic inch engine that was used in the more powerful Dart engine was upgraded to 330 horsepower.
