1. In May 2003, President Bush flew onto an aircraft carrier. Which one did he visit?

Answer: USS Abraham Lincoln

He is the only sitting president to have ever "trapped" onto a carrier.
2. Which of the following books is NOT on the Master Chief Petty Officer of the Navy's (MCPON's) reading list?

Answer: At Ease : Navy Men of World War II

The books are chosen based on their Naval Heritage and Core Values. MCPON also includes a list of books for leadership, management, and personal growth.
3. How many anchors are behind the crest of the Naval Flight Officer pin?

Answer: 2

NFO's do not fly aircraft. Instead, they operate the advanced systems onboard most aircraft so the pilot can concentrate on flying. Remember Goose from "Top Gun"? He was an NFO.

There are three stars across the top and one more under the rocker. MCPON is the highest ranking enlisted member of the Navy. He is the "middle-man" between the Navy's enlisted ranks and the Chief of Naval Operations.

Carriers are the centerpiece of the Carrier Strike Groups of today's Navy. They are 4.5 acres of American territory that can go anywhere at anytime.
9. What aircraft do VFA squadrons fly?

Answer: F/A-18 Hornet

VFA squadrons also fly the F/A-18E/F "Super Hornet." The Hornet is an all-weather aircraft that can be used as an attack or fighter. Together, the Hornet and Super Hornet are phasing out the 30+ year-old Tomcat.
10. What class of ship is USS ROOSEVELT?

Answer: DDG
