I'm creating a quiz in which the answers are both the name of a movie, and a song. What category and/or subcategory should I post this quiz to? Thanks!

I have a quiz in mind where I will give descriptions of four very prominent major league baseball players for the first nine questions, and then use the tenth question to name a famous Hall of Fame player. The answer to the last question would be the initials for the surnames to the first nine questions. It is not Fill In the Blank The questions would all be multiple choice except for question numbert 10. Is this a sports quiz or a brain teaser? Also I've seen these types of quizzes on line before, but can't remeber what they are called.

They are mostly called 9 for 10, or Mystery Word, or Common Bond. Not quite sure where this goes, but I'd guess there is a subcategory in Sports for them.

Definitely Sports and not Brain Teasers. I'm sure Nightmare will have a suggestion for the category.

I guess this is a perplexing question. I contacted Nightmare and he says definitely not Sports. Sounded like a Brain Teaser to him. So I guess we'll have dueling editors, LOL. I'll wait for a decision before I start work.

There's a 9 for 10 subcategory under Thematic Fun in General. Perhaps there?

In 'General', there is a subcategory called '9 for 10' where the last question is made up from the first letter of the first nine questions. That's where it ought to be.

When you submit the actual quiz, then the editors can make a judgement on where it should go after reviewing it, and place it in the proper category.

Well, to provide a counterpart here, I may not know what goes in Sports, but I do know what goes in Brain Teasers  If the questions are about baseball players and require knowledge of baseball to answer them, it isn't a Brain Teasers quiz. Brain Teasers is for riddles, logic puzzles and the like, not general trivia. 9 for 10 quizzes don't go in Brain Teasers, most of them have been in their appropriate categories, or in the "9 for 10" category mentioned.

Ok, so I'm still perplexed. Not sure if I should even create the quiz at this point. Nightmare has suggested that I submit the quiz and let the editors decide where to put it, which is probably the best idea, but I can't even create it without a category. What to do? What to do?

Just trust us. Submit it to any category that you wish, even if you submit to South African independence on corn crop growing, and once we *see* it, we will work it out for you. The category is not an issue, we'll place it in the correct one for you. All you have to do is write the quiz, and we'll take care of it.

I vote that you flip a coin (or roll a die) to decide the category from among the ones listed here as possibilities (sounds like General or maybe Sports?), create it, and submit it. The editors know these categorization issues are tough, and we do a lot of these kinds of internal debates on quizzes that are already in the queue. I promise a mis-aimed submission won't give offense.
