Earlier this evening I accidentally signed my son up for this week's knockout, thinking it was me logged in. As no-one has been assigned a tournament yet surely there ought to be some way of delisting him???
He's only 7 so can't really compete with adults (or is there a kids division somewhere?). That makes him a guaranteed no-show before the draw has even been published.
He couldn't find out what to do in the FAQ and, when he tried to sign up to the forum as advised in the FAQ, obviously he couldn't do so because of his age. Not very convenient.
Then I tried to sign up for the forum to find out and it tried to tell me I was underage too. Had to clear cookies before it would even ask me my DOB.
Is there a way to delist him and/or is this something that ought to be in the FAQ???
Thanks mousy

I am assuming then that your son is ChocolateMan. Actually he isn't permitted to have his own account, he can only play games using your account and under supervision.
This isn't a rule of FunTrivia.com, it is to do with COPPA. I am sure you wouldn't like this site to break any laws so please close his account.
We are sorry about this but our hands are tied.

Any player that misses a week will be automatically unsubscribed.

I'm probably missing something here - and I do appreciate that age is now the main focus - but don't you just need to press the 'Unsubscribe' button to back out?

"Unsubscribe" will only remove you from being automatically re-enrolled each week. Once you are signed up for a week there is no way of taking yourself off the list until you no-show or are KO'd.

I have a question on a related topic. Whenever I am a no-show, for whatever reason, I always want to try to re-sub for the tournament so that I can play in the following week. I press subscribe, and it looks like I am subscribed, but on Tuesday, I always have to resubscribe for the following week's tournament. Is this by design that whenever you are a no-show there is an obligatory week that you are kept out of the tournament? Sometimes things are beyond your control and it would be nice to be able to resub for the week after you've had a problem.

Whenever I've been a no-show, I've always re-subscribed on the following Monday and been allowed in, so it's not a question of being "barred" for the following week. It may be that you can't re-subscribe in the same week that you no-show and have to wait for the Monday before re-subscribing.

One cannot enroll for a given week (and then also for automatic renewal) except on Monday of that week.

I've done this too, it's a little mis-leading. For example, when I've forgotten to play on Wednesday, and realize on Thursday, it allows me to press the subscribe link on Thursday and then says "You are subscribed!", but come next Tuesday, I am not subscribed. I get that you can only do so on Monday, but perhaps it'd be helpful to not have the "you are subscribed" message appear if you try to subscribe on another day.

That is exactly what has happened to me, and I didn't understand it until now. I guess the subscription resets on Monday, and all no-shows from the prior week are then unsubbed. I will make sure I subscrube again on Monday if this happens. Sometimes it's just impossible to get a connection when you are not near home.

I'll report back with how I get on this coming monday as I have forgotten to play knockout yesterday!
Usually after forgetting to play I forget to re-enroll the following monday, so one missed week nearly always turns into two. Like the last two posters the first time it happened I simply clicked subscribe on the same day, not realising that it would be automatically unsubscribed before the monday.

Let's keep this thread active. Every day I come and read it and it reminds me to go and play ... LOL.
