*launches self into the fray*....
I'm a Vegemite Kid! My favourite vegemite eat treat is on hot buttered toast *bliss* but hot vegemite toast with a poached egg or buttered saos with vegemite and cheese run close!
My daughter spent 4 months in Georgia with CCUSA and found two Americans who were hooked on vegemite and carried their own supplies. She did show them how to make their vegemite toast 'properly' - and then all the available councellors Embraced the Change!
They are now also hooked on Tim Tams (a chocolate biscuits) as well!
As for iSnack.... - look what's happened now!

mmmm saos with vegemite and cheese - haven't had that in years. I might just go down the shops this arvo and get me some saos!
And I have my jar of iSnack2.0 in my cupboard (for posperity). There is heaps of it on the shelves of my local shop, I might just buy some more jars (just in case) when I go down and get some saos.

Could be history making Lones!
Did you do the vitawheat (sandwich) with the butter and vegemite 'worms' too?

Yes, I do. I also remember the delightful 'Pepsi Blue', which provided your RDA of Blue Dye #1.
Or Crystal Pepsi for that matter.

Ok, now you have to explain to us uninitiated in the ways of yeast spreads, what vegemite worms are!

*Jumps up and down* Me too, me too! A friend just sent me nine (count 'em, nine! ) assorted packs of Tim Tams, as well as a box of Cadbury favourites. Seriously, they have to be the best cookie in the world! I just may have to move to Australia......

It's simple really, 'Vegemite worms' occur when you get 2 crackers with holes in them, spread with Vegemite, then squish together. The Vegemite has to go somewhere so it comes up through the holes in the cracker hence the reference to 'worms'
And for those who like Tim Tams, I just won a year's supply of them! It's for work though and we'll go through them in a couple of months but at least we wont need to buy any for a while.

A year's supply Lones? I think you need the Genie for that...a Never Ending supply!
Mags you lucky thing - aren't they Just the Best! *yummie*
I love a Tim Tam Slam with my coffee (or hot chocolate) too! You bite off opposite corners from the Tim Tam...and suck the hot drink through it and then pop it into you mouth before it implodes! *bliss*
Oooops...sorry.
*pushes thread back on track*

A year's supply (according to Arnotts) is 48 packets - which is 2 cartons. 1 will be delivered soon and the second in April next year. Almost as good as the genie The boys I work with are really looking forward to them.

There are 3 women and 12 men here where I work. Not enough Tim Tams to go around but not everyone eats them (phew!). We worked out that the win would save us about $120. Not too bad. Of course we had to buy all those packets of Tim Tams (and eat them) to enter the competition in the first place (I think I entered about 20 times). We can now spend the money we save on Tim Tams on the Coke that the boys out in the workshop seem to have hooked up to an intravenous drip.

I have a new convert to the vegemite crowd!
I made my Japanese student a vegemite sandwich, and she loved it. Apparently it tastes like Miso Soup.
yay

Excellent lioness!
When your Japanese student returns home, they can convert Japan and Vegemite can attain World Domination!

Lioness, you had better make it a big jar- there are an awful lot of them to convert!

Just to get back to the comparison, I don't think you can deny that Marmite wins for style (as well as taste). Is there a Vegemite shop anywhere? I think not!

I see they're only open for ten weeks over the Christmas season. A good place to get that perfect gag gift! (Pun only semi-intended)
