Omigod! I l,o,v,e "Top Chef" ! Such peevish chefs they have on there, sometimes! And I love watching them turn a can of tuna and a jar of peanut butter into some fabulous-looking something (or whatever)! It's one of my remaining favorite "reality" shows --- even though I've no idea what 'reality' has to do with any of it .
The next person knows someone (friend family, co-worker, etc.) who is having a birthday this week ...

Not unless you count my dear old friend, Vern, who I've since lost touch with and whose birthday is the 9th.
The next person once knew how to dive off a diving board, but hasn't done so in a very long time.

Never, never, never! I don't even know how to swim --- so even the mere consideration of diving off anything has never been an issue.
The next person takes LARGE amounts of interest in their local elections ...

Not nearly as much as I used to. Occasionally something will particularly spark my interest, but I've gotten frustrated with the process in recent years. But a few years ago, we had a local referendum that passed by 2 votes, and that certainly reminded me that in a small community every vote really can make a difference.
The next person will attempt to make homemade applesauce this week.

Yummm! There was a time when I did indeed make homemade applesauce, but not anymore. I just don't cook much now. It's an idea though as I recently bought some apples.
The next person knows how to make delicious fried apple pies. (or peach, apricot, etc.)

I'm not a big fan of fried foods, so I'd never even thought about the possibility of frying pies! Interesting concept, though... I did, however, recently barbeque bananas on the grill for the first time, which were yummy delicious! (Slice 'em in half lengthwise, skin on, 4 mins fruit side, 2-3 mins skin side, scoop and eat)
The next person might try the bananas on the grill idea

Indeed I might. We grill a lot of things but have never grilled bananas. Thanks for the idea!

You hit the nail on the head with this one. I enjoy a cup of coffee when I first wake up - usually around 6:00 a.m. - but do not enjoy eating until around 10 or 11:00 a.m. Guess you might say I am a "brunch" lady!
The next person enjoys preparing a 'big' breakfast on Saturday and/or Sunday mornings.

Yes, I do. Mostly I have either a bowl of cereal or toast throughout the week, so once a week I like to pull out the frying pan. I'll often do a couple of eggs on toast, half an avocado, maybe some sauteed mushrooms, bit of red pepper, slice of tomato, big glass of OJ, yum!
The next person has a rather strange neighbour.......

(Yum! Can I come to your house Saturday for breakfast Mags?)
I have fairly 'normal' neighbors now, but once there was a very strange man who lived next to our farm. He bought (I guess you would say collected) cars and just parked them in a field. Eventually trees began to grow up through them. I'd say he had 50 to 75 cars, mostly Volvos. One day some men came with saws and cut out all the things growing in the cars. Then wreckers came and hauled them off, for scrap metal I guess. The man moved away, thankfully.
The next person goes to a nearby post office to get their mail.

Anytime for brekkies... and your story made me laugh!
Actually I go to a faraway Post Office, it's a 30 minute busride away. Thankfully I don't get much mail, and when I do, I usually know it's coming.

Oh yeah, and it seems with every year there's a few more. They aren't in the same place -- one day an ankle, next day a knee -- so at least I don't get bored!

Nope. Never did ... but a neighbor did have one, once, and it turned out (after that) I never wanted one. They forgot to cover it/watch it one July 4th and a small child ended up falling in. No major injuries --- but scared the crap out of everybody .

Hmm...I think Taylor Swift is "adorable as the dickens" but not particularly overrated as a vocalist.

Well, I tried to read it, as it was all the rage for a while, but I thought it was boring as all get out. Just not my cup of tea, I guess!

Thank heavens for toddlers out there everywhere, too. No, I don't. Maybe a few days a year with my friends' grandchildren is all. And that's quite enough (for me AND them, I think ) ...

Yes, absolutely. Many years ago, I read that if you set a stick of margarine on your front porch, nothing will eat it. I'm not much of a fan of fake foods, anyway, and that was enough for me. We use butter -- and only butter -- in our house.
The next person does not read romance novels.

That'd be correct. I did read one once a long time ago (some Danielle Steele mess of a thing ). It seemed to take me years to get over it.

Nope. Nothing bigger than a breadbox. I have a family heirloom cedar chest that my grandfather made, but it's currently at my mother's house. The only cedar things in my house are two cedar hearts that my boyfriend carved for me when we were first dating.

Yeah, when I lived in Canada and ready-made pie crusts were available, I'd occasionally make a quiche or a fruit pie. Why mess up the entire kitchen with flour, rolling pins, sifters, measuring cups and bowls when you can buy 2 deep-dish crusts for $3? I'm a woman of the new millenium - I don't make pastry or iron. Now I can't buy those pastry shells anymore, I'm more prone to bake a cake or loaf when I'm in the mood for something sweet.

All one has to do is look at my basement and attic to know that I am very sentimental. HOWEVER, I am making an honest effort to get rid of things. I hate clutter! Yes I do ... hate clutter. I hate it I say ... must get rid of the clutter ... (Oh, but isn't this cute. I got it in Paris during the summer of ...)

Interesting (in a timely way) question ! Personally, I never kept one. Most of my memories of back then are solidly burned into my (usually fond) memory banks, AND I am still in touch with several from back in the day. So it's all kinda fresh, thus no need for photographs (and so forth) too much. But now, over on that stressful place Facebook, some guy has started a "Memories of High School" [or whatever] thing. So my class is coming up with all sorts of stuff to sort through. Accordingly? I think a scrapbook is being kept for me/us, all of a sudden .
The next person thinks that shopping around in those *Home Improvement* stores (more like warehouses?) is great fun, indeed!

Also a timely question. I'm one of those rare women who hate hate hate shopping, especially for clothes! My gal pals know I'm not the one to ask to join them as they shop for and try on endless pairs of jeans. Having said that, I will admit that I love to wander hardware stores, even megasize ones, they have the neatest stuff! Just yesterday I went into the big city with friends, one of our stops was Price Club, my first visit to that chain ever. I spent most of my time in there checking out the hardware/houseware/house improvement stuff.
The next person recently misplaced an item that they just cannot locate!
