Oh dear, this is awful news.
It's also unsettling as my husband and I have recently booked our very first cruise ever.

Ah but not in Egypt, and it seems to have been more of a ferry than a cruise ship AND sister ship to another that sunk!

So it sounds like a line that isn't exactly following safety regulations.

to me it sounds a bit like the titanic except for the iceberg, read just now in a norwegian onlinenewspaper that there weren't enough lifeboats onboard.

I hadn't heard anything but how many were rescued - so far, it's 250 of the around 1300 onboard.

It would appear that it isn't so much a cruise liner as a car ferry.

I read yesterday that the authorities in charge declined help from a British warship and an American sub. They later changed their minds about the warship but decided that the sub was too far away to be of any assistance.

What a nightmare it must have been for those on the ferry. The screams of terror and cries for help will haunt the survivors for years.
