Get the Lead Out
Spring has sprung and it is time to get outside, breathe in fresh air, stretch and then for most head back inside. Well, this is my health blog for the average couch potato, wanna be the cool guy or gal and afraid to start an exercise program. The tips here are my opinion and I will say see a doctor and get cleared for any plan, yes even walking. We are all the same here so read, enjoy and give me your updates.
I bike, mountain bike, run and walk. I fail at roller blading and ice skating, but I hate to sit down. I read those sites that are gun ho and extreme and I will get there eventually, but all things in moderation. Take it slow and do this with me and thank your virtual self later that you did.
Day 1: Today is the day to think of a program. Something you will enjoy, something you control. To start out I suggest a couple things. First have something you can do inside. Why? For bad weather, minimize your exscuses. We all have them. They are the weight gainer, not you. Second, stretch. This is good. Stretch at your limit, not beyond. When you feel the pull, hold, count to ten slow, and slowly relax. Not too fast or you will pull a muscle or tendon. There are many sites that have good stretches that are for the beginner. Msn. homepage health is a good start, espically for ladies. Also, ladies look in those magazines, ladies journals. There are good ideas there, with visual aide.
Day 2: If you need to purchase a DVD, this is todays goal. You are a third of the way there. If you are walking, set a reasonable goal, be safe and track your progress in a journal. If you hate it be honest and move on. Enjoyment is the key.
That is the tip for today. Blog your results here if you wish. I love ideas. Now for a lighter side of the what not to do. Planning is good. Bad planning on warm spring day cost me great discomfort. Hydrate, hydrate, and hydrate. I just jumped on my bike with no planning like I normally would. Bad idea. Your body is a bank, what you put in and do not spend is there, stored. What you do not put in can not be withdrawn. Message here, prepare early. Eat good, eat well, eat ahead of time. Drink water thirty minutes before. Take water with you. There is no exscuse, with bottles sold everwhere. Be careful reusing bottles even if you wash them because of bacteria. Health bars are good. Fruit is great. Start moderate and enjoy. My non-planning and no water and eagerness cost me some recovery time that was just stupid.
Allow your body to heal. So, walk or run, jog or bike. Let me know and look for updates.
Gone With 2007
Sail on by, cross to the other side. No time for long goodbyes. January came and then was gone and Del Reeves left us with a song. Oh, how the Opry must have cried, sail on by. Sail on by, sail on by, and I won't cry for the Munster no longer under my bed, Yvonne De Carlo was the Munsters mom and every week we let her in. Sail on by, January came in cold and left us with a sigh, sail on by. (Del Reeves member of the Grand Ole' Opry, and Yvonne De carlo the mom on the "Munsters").
February did this to us too and took some good ones away from me and you, sail on by, sail on by. WWII was not so pretty but the class in the guys and gals, and the ladies picked up the slack and worked long hours, and our favorite pastime was replaced with babes that could swing bats. Betty "Sphaghetti" Terreza was immortalized for that in a league not just her own. Sail on by and swing for the fence and sail on through the sky and may you land fair and reach home safe, sail on by.(Betty terreza inducted into the Womens Professional baseball hall of Fame).
I owe a lot to Iwao Takamoto, and mostly so do you if you loved "Scooby Dooby-Doo", he drew that dog that was owned the world over by us all. So raise a toast with with a glass of milk and eat a a Scooby Snack because when the good ones go they usually don't come back, and life is a mystery and he solved them all so Saturday won't be the same at all. (Iwao Takamoto was the animator that created Scooby Dooby-Doo). Sail on by as the animation fades to water colors with our tears, thanks for all the laughter through my growing up years.
Sail on by, and then let go, do you hear that melodious tune that voice belongs to Don Ho. Sail on by and may the tips be plenty on the other side. Dabbs Greer said a prayer and then shut his eyes, he preached to all of us from a "Little House On the Prairie", and it mattered not if our faith was the same, there was just something everyweek about that place. (Don Ho crooner, Dabbs Greer played the Minister on "The Little House on the Prairie). Sail on by.
Sail on by, and dress them well for the final trip, Liz Caiborne would like them looking good down the runway and move the hips. Don't break the chain there are more to add to the gang and with the words of "Unchained Melody" Hyzert will come along, I hear he wrote the song. Just ask every girl I have ever met they could sing it word for word and that is the greatest compliment. (Liz Claiborne fashion designer, Hyzert lyrcs for "Unchained Melody").
Sail on by in August warmth and golden sun they took Brooke Astor who gave the arts in NYC millions for everyone. (Brooke Astor donated millions to the arts in NYC, he also lived to be 105 years old.). Sail on by and I hope you got a first class ride.
Septembers song is gone. They got the favorite tenor of alot of everyone. There were three and now there is only the other guy. (Luciano Pavoratti opera singer and sang duets with hundreds not as skilled technically as he.)
Then silence fell in September still and Marceau made not a sound, and even faded laughter he left behind died down. (Marcel Marceau famous mime that changed France vaudeville and entertained millions without uttering even a whisper.)
Sail on by before I cry and take this one "From Here To Eternity", she did that scene we all like to see and sent us to the beach. Make sure she lands softly and sees the King and tell him "Etc., etc., etc.", Deborah Kerr will we really never hear you sing? (Deborah Kerr actress and singer appeared with Burt Lancaster in "From Here To Eternity" and with Yul Brynner in "The King and I").
Sail on by but wait, don't cry. We immortalize our favorites when they succeede at what they try, remember this guy? I hope he jumps a hundred Rivers of Styxs and does more stunts like this. His bonecrushing landings and his red and white and blue suit, take that motorcyle and jump a thousand angels of death and leave us in your grip. Evel Knievel, my childhood hero, I know they took you because yoou put on a heck of a show!
Sail on by, I'm right behind and I'll reach there in time. But for now I'll just let go and say hello along this road. We will miss your talent, skills, laughter, songs, silence, and faces on the screen.

Living Legacy (1951-2007)
To the late great Dan Fogleberg and his family and friends, his words will echo through the hearts of all his fans, those well rehearsed and those still searching for the song within. Here is just a thought of Dan and some of the songs I liked the most.
Friend, it is "Hard To say" but when asked why your music remained I just say that good things just last "Longer". Good songwriters who know their craft make "Magic Every Moment". "Only the "Heart May Know" what lies deep within the heart of Dan.
Till tomorrow comes shining through, till "Tullamore Dew", and with the smell of "Sweet Magnolia" I can listen to the words of Dan and never be "Lonely In Love" again. So, as for me and my "Scarecrow Dreams" I'll climb the "Mountain to the Sea" because "Empty Cages" can't contain me. Most of my life has been but a "Beggers Game". I dream through "Windows and Walls" and ride the tide on the "River of Souls" till this sweet journey ends and I circle back again.
Thank you Dan for the songs that now carry my memories and others as well on their back and we relive them again when listen to a well worn track. I thought of "Auld Lang Syne" differently till I encountered a person from my past. My fathers memories are revisted with "Leader of The Band". There are others too many to name. Keep writing.

Shattered Illusions
Shattered Illusions
The world is round they said as I had not yet gone around the block alone and without my mothers hand. Gravity is what keeps you safely planted here when I had not ever wondered about it quite frankly. I was on more important things such as why I could not run fast enough to catch the butterfly. They do not fly that fast and when I ran in my backyard in my canvas high tops with my Henry Raddigan homemade butterfly catcher IV model I felt like I flew.
The light of the stars are light years away they said when I did not understand that the nightly news was being broadcast from halfway around the world. I was not yet old enough to walk to the candy store alone. I thought of these things not in front of a virtual encylopedia full of wonder and glorious mistakes as well. I pondered astronomical units climbing trees. I wondered about the stars when I camped out at night. I thought about life forms when I dug for worms or went fishing.
I begans to see the effects of gravity and this greater knowledge they wanted me to learn when I began to see I was failing chemistry and going to dances alone. The dating years. Surely there were strangers among us and they were beautiful.
I wonder how it feels today. Hand me downs, we all had them. The name brand was what was bought at the local store to keep your best friends dad in bussiness. Family night was not strange, other families did it. We had game night and Fondu night at our house and played Uno and Monopoly. So gravity is what is keeping us here. So what keeps you tied to your own backyard?

P.S.
The Henry Raddigan IV Butterfly cartcher was a homemade product that was quickly replaced. Due to several testings the product was quickly discontinued.
Intelligent life
So, the debate has been going on for years. Is there or isn't there intelligent life beyond our universe or within? Well I have have put my meger heaping of brains on this thoought for quite some time and have gone at it from many angles. Here are some thoughts I stumbled on.
Those who study astronomy will tell you that gravity bends light.
When we look out we are seeing the light from the past.
Objects in our rear view mirror are older than they appear.
If we were to find life it is possible it would be from the past,
farther back closer to the big bang, time wise than we are.
So, many intelligent life lies ahead of us as a possibility. But, by
the time they see us it will be a mirage from the past.
Just a thought.
Flying Jalepenos Hot List
The Alien Chronicles
There are many of our kind arriving here in this world everyday. To acclimate people we here in Blogtoonville will be providing classes designed to help you through this trying process and extended period of homesickness.
Alien Bob will be providing the "Dressing to Impress" workshop on Wednesdays at 7:00pm. The Lonely cantina will be providing the space.
The Garden Club is a new addition to our growing community. This club meets on the edge of town on saturday afternoons. Miss Isabell, a human, will be providing us with her vast kowlege of vegetation. She will guide us through 6 weeks of what we can eat and what we should avoid. This brings to mind another already growing concern.
Some of our children are killing off local plant life around town and this is causing the humans great distress on the level of trust. I know it is fun to discover our abilities that are ever changing at an unbelievable rate of speed, but we must use caution. Also, any children caught using lazer vision to light fires around small childrens feet at school or in public places will be subject to arrest and the parents will be fined! Earnest Einstein has been selected to be a part of the local police department and has been informed that this rule will be enforced! We would also like to congratulate Einstein on his willingness to volunteer and serve his community. Others are encouraged to do the same. Stop by the local police department and sign up!
There will be a fundraiser for our new elementary school opening on the west side. Bring your family Saturday at 11:00 am. for fun and games and great southern Bar-B-Que. There will be face painting, funnel cakes, carmel apples, and plenty booths with exciting events such as mental telepathy, spoon bending, and much more. The humans and us aliens are all pulling together to make this great fun for all. Please refrain from "beaming" people out of the audience as happened at the recent fair! While some were amused there were those that were enticed and upset. This is a fun occasion and let us keep it safe for all ages.

This here below is a live human abduction, that is me with my back to the camera. We were pretty amazed and bewildered because we had gone fishing! So you can see why we were surprised! Can't really stuff that and hang it on your wall!

Well, that is all from the "Alien Chronicles" for now. The Flying Jalepeno Brothers play nightly till the blogs are gone so please check back....feel free to browse our catlog of songs so you can make requests! As seen here below:
