to participate in an AI project helping CYC learn
there is a FACTory game where you are given choices like True, False, Don't Know and Does Not Make Sense--your input will give CYC of Cycorp greater knowledge that could be useful to an AI (artificial intelligence) critter.
this project is located at www.cyc.com
and you will have to have a name and password along with your email address.
if you try to help, you will need to be patient because sometimes the questions for you to respond does not load very quickly.
the purpose as indicated above is to "teach" Cyc what things are true and what things are false as well as what things don't make sense when jumbled up together.
i think the first couple of times answering the questions is to seek how accurate you can be (that is, do you claim to know stuff that you actually don't know and how often do you go against prevailing opinions of truth. my own approach to attempting to answering questions was to respond true if asked is the capital of a certain state is so and so, and to respond to questions that i thought had say 80% accurate responses with i don't know. since the collective us that would be trying to teach this ai critter (i wish i knew what the proper term for this sort of object is) what is true, false, as yet unknown, i think "it" deserves to be given as truthful and as accurate response as you can generate.
give it a try and see if you don't think it interesting as well as having the opportunity to help an interesting cause.
