It's A Wonderful Life!
In less than three weeks I will be performing in the UK Premier of the above play.
It's a long time since I've done anything like this, but I'm finding it great fun and extremely interesting. I don't know if anyone will be interested, but if anyone would, I'd like to put a bit down about the rehearsals and how it's going. To make sure that I protect my fellow actors' and so you know what I'm talking about, I'll only refer to them by the characters' names.
For example:
The other night, Violet decided to introduce a new bit of business and slapped George (quite hard! ;-)) Poor George then had to face a rabid Mrs Bailey (me!) and, not surprisingly was still reeling a bit...our wicked ASM whispered to the Director that perhaps I should slap him too. At which point our director pictured the scene in 'Airplane' where they all lined up to hit the hysterical woman and had hysterics, as did we all when she shared it. You had to be there...
