This is a first for me and I'm not too sure if anyone anywhere will ever care about what I might have to say anyhow ... but here goes!

I've seen these things out there on the Web called 'blogs and wondered what they are all about.  Best I can tell, they are simply a way for people to publicly post their daily musings, thoughts and opinions for other people to "reflect" upon.  Of course, some I've seen are downright awful but many are quite entertaining, thought-provoking or informative.  I haven't yet decided which I want to be when I grow up - entertaining, thought-provoking or informative ... maybe I'll alternate.

Right now, I'm on a mission ... I want to see more FT'ers over at the Games and Challenges and, in particular, playing the daily Trivia Rounds.  I started playing the rounds last August when I happened to find them thanks to the ever-helpful Gatsby and have been hooked ever since.  The Rounds have become an integral part of my (almost-)daily FT routine and enjoyment.  For those of you who may not be familiar with the Trivia Rounds, here's how they work:

1 - Each day (except Sunday) a host posts five questions, each of which have multiple possible correct answers.

2 - Each player PM's his responses to the questions to the host within the time frame specified (usually about 72 hours, sometimes longer).

3 - Once the round is closed to new entries, the host tallies up the scores with each unique correct response (one not given by any other player) receiving a score of 10 points and each correct but non-unique response receiving 5 points.  (The results are usually posted shortly after the round is closed.)

4 - The player (or players) with the most points for each day earns 1 point for that month.  At the end of each month, the relative standings of the TRound players is tallied and, of course, at the end of each year the players with the highest totals are recognized with great glory, fame and adulation.

I have always found that answering the Trivia Round questions is not only fun, but also informative as I usually find information on subjects that I would not otherwise have any occasion to look for or know about (which is sort of what being a trivia buff is all about, right?).

To find the Trivia Rounds, just go to Games & Challenges in the FT Forums and find the thread for the latest month's Rounds (usually something like "July Trivia Rounds").  The thread will continue throughout each month as quizzes and results are posted, so you can easily see which quizzes are still open at any time.

There's no need for "sign up" or registration of any kind ... if you'd like to play, just PM the host with your stellar answers to his or her quiz and you're in!  Stop by and take a look!
