live in COLOR
screw black and white :P

YAY!

My eye looks 5 times better today... though still not completely healed. I don't mind - I'm just glad I don't look as monster-like now. :P

There's so much to do today... laundry, cleaning - mopping the basement floor, cleaning all the dishes in the kitchen, possibly vaccuming the living room - and on top of all that I really need to shower. It's my brother's birthday. He's supposed to come over around noon. I kinda want to shower by then, but I have to get all the clothes washed first.

i look like Rocky Balboa.

That's what I keep telling myself, anyway. Nah, I look worse.

I woke up yesterday morning and looked in the mirror - and something looked off about my eyes. One of them wasn't opened as wide as the other. I looked more closely and noticed that the skin on my left eyelid was swollen and my eye wouldn't open as far as normal. I immediately called my dad and he took me to the doctor to make sure it wasn't pinkeye. Turns out it's most likely a sty. It got a lot worse over the course of yesterday and was even worse when I woke up this morning, but I think that was from sleep, because it went down a little. I look horrible though :P I did some more research and found that since it's a bacterial condition, I can use Neosporin on it. Thank goodness, because that is the only other thing I can do besides a warm compress every few hours.

I don't mind it too much - it doesn't hurt, it's just uncomfortable, especially when I try to look up - but tomorrow my brother's having a big cookout here for his birthday, and I'm going to look like this and his friends will make fun of me. I know, I know - it's not THAT big a deal. But his friends can really be jerks. I don't like them at all.

Have any of you ever had a sty? How long did it take for it to go away, and what did you do to treat it?

is there a food category on FT?

I want to make a quiz on types of pasta, but I can't find a good category to place it in. Is there a food category anywhere? I've looked, but I can't seem to find one. :/ Can anyone help?

EDIT: Nevermind. I didn't think to look under hobbies. *facepalm*

anyone recently passed their driver's test?

I'm in the process of getting my license; I've taken half of the classes and have just started driving with an instructor (1 of the 4 lessons completed, with 2 more next week). I'm wondering what specifically happens in the driving portion of the exam? Maneuverability, though kind of hard, is at least just one thing to worry about; there's so much to think of at once during driving itself. I'm already nervous. How can I remember everything at once? Is there anything you did that helped?

SCHOOL

Is OVER.

:D

It makes me happy.

on another note

I hate teachers who don't give an appropriate required length for projects.

This skit is based on a five-question interview and has to be FIVE MINUTES LONG. The last time I timed it, it was around two and a half, and I've added maybe 30 seconds since then... and I've used all of the interview. It's impossible to make it any longer.

*ears begin smoking*

Screw it. It's done as is. There's no way she'll take off enough points to hurt my grade. I'm sick of schoolwork that doesn't teach me anything.

this is an... EHH wednesday

I'm sitting here typing up something for school and drinking a bottle of Evian water, because I felt like spending 1.49 for a regular-sized bottle of water that should only cost a dollar. It's actually pretty good... it even tastes a little different from normal water.

I'm trying something that has worked for my mother - stopping all food consumption past 6 or 7 at night. She has apparently dropped 10 pounds or more in the last - I dunno, month, I think. So I'm doing the same. It's easier than I expected, so far. I just drink a lot of water and Crystal Light so that I'm still putting something in my mouth, haha. And gum too. How late do you guys tend to eat? Any other tricks that have helped you lose weight (if you've been trying)?

Three out of my five (more like four) finals were today: English, Health, and History. English was over Julius Caesar, and was the most challenging of the day, even though it hardly was at all. Health was a joke - that's the most blowoff class I've ever taken. The final was 18 fill in the blank questions over an article from a magazine. (We got to use the magazine.) History was just as easy - we had a study guide last week that she gave us all the answers to (yeah - middle school much?), and the test was the EXACT STUDY GUIDE, in multiple-choice form. All I had to do was look for the answer I'd written down.

Two left - Algebra II and Bio. Our math teacher has a rule that you don't have to actually take the final if you've kept an A all year in his class, so I basically write my name on it, turn it in, and he'll give me my average for the year on the final (96-97, I believe). Which is good, because it means I only have one final to worry about on Friday and Monday.

If all of my other classes are on the "so-easy-I-could-cry" extreme, Bio is on the other. To make it worse, she never tells us what's going to be on the midterm or final (or any test, really). So I don't know what to study for. We're allowed to make a "study guide" - ONE PAGE, front and back - to keep with us for the test. But you basically have to summarize the whole year's notes in very tiny handwriting to make sure it's all on there. Grrrr. And there's also a practical portion of the final, which - again - she didn't tell us anything about. I'm just hoping I do well enough to keep an A in the class. >.<

Gotten a lot done today...

...Just nothing for school.

I have, however, done a bunch of cleaning and organization in my room, and accumulated some more points on here (almost to the next level! :D ). I'm kind of considering upgrading to a Gold Account, actually. I felt sick to my stomach for a while but it's gotten a lot better.

Vanilla Milkshake poptarts are the best kind of poptart I have ever had. TRY THEM if you ever see them! :P

how things have changed

Over the course of the day, I've gone and read through all my previous blog posts - two hundred! I hardly remember writing these! - and I've grown so much since then, gotten so much more mature. It was really amusing to see how overdramatic I was at that age.

So many things are different...  I don't get overdramatic about guys and like someone (who doesn't return the feelings) for months. I have a guy who actually deserves me and treats me well, and has become my best friend. I've become more passionate about music, in a way that I want it to be a big part of my future (college minor?). Some things are still the same though. Bradley (Chimpy) and I are still best friends. I'm still Christian, still a writer (though I have less and less time), and I still find popular kids stupid and foolish.

Two years could change anyone, though, couldn't they?
