Six year anniversary

I remember when I first found FT.  It was six years ago today, and I haven't found a better trivia site anywhere out there.  All I had done was surf the internet looking for anything trivia related, and it popped up as a listing on the web search page...can't remember which web search engine I used. :)

I'm hoping to be here much more than just another six years...that's only 12, and nowhere near long enough with FT, the best trivia site on the web!

High School Reunion

My reunion was a lot of fun.  I got to see several that I graduated with; nowhere near everyone, as there was over 400 of us that graduated.  There was about 40-50 actual graduates there.  Some have gotten married, and some of those have children now.

The question is: will the next one be in five or ten years?

Wow...ten years!

Next Saturday (October 28) will be my ten year high school reunion.  It doesn't seem possible that it's really been that long ago.  I only have to drive about 3 hours to go to it, so at least it's somewhat close.  I haven't been to the city in about 3 years anyway, so it'll be a nice change for a day.

Cooper Cougar Proud!

A great day...for Yankee loathers and Longhorn fan

The Longhorns won their second straight over the Oklahoma Sooners, 28-10, at the Cotton Bowl here in Dallas.  Having lived in both states, I could root for either team.

The Detroit Tigers have defeated the $200 million+ Yankees three games to one.  The Tigers starting pitcher was perfect through five innings, sitting 15 straight before they had a base runner in the sixth inning.  It's also the second year the Yankees have gone home before the ALCS.  Plus, there's also the 2004 ALCS, when the Yankees were up three games to none, and ahead of the Red Sox in the eighth inning of Game 4, before the biggest meltdown in baseball postseason history.

Yes, it was a great day.  The Yankees will be watching the ALCS from home, and not playing in it.

Go Tigers!

Let's root for the Detroit Tigers to win their series!  After that, you may root for any team.

Go Detroit!  Win the series, preferably three games to none!

(I'm not a Tigers fan per se, but will be when it comes to playing the Yanks!)

It's time for someone else!

I am quite tired of seeing the New York Yankees win year after year after year.  It is time for some other team to win...there are 29 other teams out there.  It's time to crown a much better AL East champion...any team but the Yanks, but unfortunately it'll be another year before that happens.  Down the Yanks in the playoffs, please!

Status uncertain

The way my job is going, no one knows what store they are going to work at anymore.  I've been working between two for awhile off and on, and now I think I somewhat have a home.  Nothing is set in stone, and I'm not sure when it will.  One other thing making this entire situation stressful is all of the general managers of all the stores nationwide are going to Nashville, TN, next week.

An upside to this is I have been selected by my area manager to be the "on-point" person for our area.  This means if someone has a problem, they are to call me, since my area manager will also be in Nashville.

Go Mavs, Go!

The Mavericks are in their first NBA Finals, defeating the Phoenix Suns four games to two.  Go Mavs!

Not happy

The Dallas Mavericks were defeated by the San Antonio Spurs last night 98-97.  They were robbed of two free throws to give them a one-point lead.  They must win Game 6.

Update: they lost Game 6, due to a lot of bad calls in the last 3 minutes of the game.  Spurs 91, Mavs 86.

Bowling greats

Tomorrow evening there will be six bowling greats bowling at Main Event in Lewisville.  Since I get off of work at 5pm tomorrow, and the event starts at 6:30pm, I'll probably try and go see them bowl live.  If you go to www.pba.com, you will see the story about the Motel 6 Roll to Riches.

I was able to see the event live.  It was absolutely awesome!  It took 3 1/2 hours to tape the telecast.  It will air on ESPN on Sunday, April 23, at noon CDT.
