Mishaps of an unanchored GAZEBO!

Okay, I have GOT to share this story and you'll probably think I'm some kind of a nut, because of it, but it was just so funny.  I cannot stop laughing today.  So here it is.  I've copied and pasted what I've said on my team's message board.

I am feeling tired today. It is raining and so very windy outside too.

OMG, this was sooooo funny looking (not a funny thing though), but the wind took our gazebo and hurtled it into the trees. (No, Jim did not anchor it, like I said he should do). Anyway, I say it go and it looked hilarious! Now it is a mangled mess of metal and canvas and screen, laying on it's side, sort of, hard to tell, hahaha, in the tree branches and the brush, up against some trees between ours and the neighbor's property. Too heavy for me to move anywhere, and maybe it is fixable? What a shame, as it WAS a lovely gazebo. I just can't help giggling at how hilarious it looked, flying along briefly, then rolling, then coming to a sudden stop. What a mess!

It doesn't help to be upset, so I have to giggle. Some people lose their whole home because of wind, so the gazebo is nothing compared to that.

OMG, you should have seen it, I wish I'd had time to grab my camera and video it. hahahahaha! I'm sure there won't be a next time either! :)

Second posting:

I phoned Jim, he was disappointed but we just have an "oh well" attitude with this mishap. He'll be laughing when he comes home because I can't contain myself, it was so funny to see. He can't even disassemble it because it's pouring and if the rain keeps up like this I'll have a few more cats and even some dogs! lol It'll cost about $200 for a new gazebo, so that isn't too bad. We might have to do that. lol

I think I would want a bigger one maybe? Not sure, but regardless, I have been giggling all day. Every time I go out on the deck for a cigarette, I can see the poor thing all crumpled in the trees, it's saying something like, "Can't you see I've fallen and I can't get up?" lol

It is a good job that I wasn't in it, that would have been even funnier, me flying off the chair trying to grab the darn thing, and then a few hours later, Jim pulls into the yard and I'm still out there holding the gazebo. That would have been a site too! lol

Yeah, how can you not have a sense of humor over this? It really is very very funny!

I hope you have a good laugh with my true story of the day!  Please feel free to add your stories that are just as amusing.  We all need a good laugh, every single day! :)

Appreciate the Beauties

Kiss the songs of our warm heaven,
As you rise each sunny morn.
Thank the Lord that you are living,
Thank Him that you have been born.
Appreciate all the beauties
He has patterned 'round us all.
Don't destroy what He's created
Or you'll be your own downfall.

See the sparrows, see the robins,
See the birds of paradise.
See the oat fields and the wheat fields,
See the growing stems of life.
See the pickerel, see the trout
As they swim in waters clean.
See the cougar, see the lions,
As they live their lives born free.

Breathe the freshness of the sweet air,
Smell the scent of honeydew.
There's a fragrance around everything.
There is good in all that's true.
Teach the persons who live by you
To keep nature growing tall.
Like the trees that root the rivers,
Roots of nature, are us all.

By The Sea Together

Come on down by the ocean's sweet cooing breast,
Let's lie in the warm sand, together, at rest.
Could we lie there a while, watching the setting sun
Spreading her crimsons and golds for everyone?

While dusk takes hold and turns the skies velvet blue,
Could I cuddle up close and make love to you?
To be barefoot and snuggled up tight in your arms,
Joyfully giving, as I take your sweet charms.

Then the waves can blanket the love that we'll share,
Cooling our bodies of the bliss that is there;
And then, darling, I'll kiss you, and again we'll rest.
I, on my back, and your head, warm, on my breast.

Sun and Moon

Sunset spread her velvet wings,
While fluffy clouds began to glimmer.
Her magnificent painting seemed endless.
The moon was rising with a shimmer.
It was like a lullaby.....
So soft.  It seemed so near.
Near enough to touch.
I wish I could join in on the rendezvous.
Such a graceful kiss they present to each other.
They touch for only moments, then
Sun fades from sight once more.
If it could be done, I'm certain
They'd stay gazing upon one another.
It's so like lovers.....
Touching is hard to do; reaching is always there.

Blue Sun

Rocky shore and cloudy skies;
Lightning cracks and thunder cries;
Winds build up, and tree tops sway,
The sky opens and rains away.

Clouds move on above the seas,
Winds grow cold: crewmen freeze.
Waves splash high above the deck.
"Blue Sun's" going to be a wreck.

Then the main mast bends and breaks,
And down it falls.  The deck shakes!
Now she tips; she's going to go.
In and out the waters flow.

Beneath the waves "Blue Sun" cries,
And now her tip begins to rise.
Quietly settling in the sand.
O, such a ship was so grand!

Not a breath is heard about;
All we hear is the wind's shout.
Then soon the sea grows quite calm;
Angels gather for a psalm.

All her crew and people lost.
All those lives at such a cost.
O, her captain!  Brave a man!
Lies face down, in cold wet sand.

Before a Storm

The silence was becoming
As I listened with great awe!
Not a squealing car or honking horn,
Did I hear from near or far.

And I closed my eyes
To listen harder,
For, the peace was such a joy.
No people fighting,
Or children crying,
Nor the whirring of a toy.

Quietness did ease my mind,
The sweet stillness made me smile.
I cherished every sortened second.
It would last such a small while!

Too soon, it was gone.
The silence, it broke.
The wind rustled throuogh the trees.
Lightning kissed the earth,
The thunder rumbled,
And the quiet was quickly freed!

Expressions!

The world of poetry is truly wonderful as I've explored various blogs and have witnessed some wonderful writings by many talented authors.  Expression is the essence of good poetry, it's a story, a mood, a feeling, a channel, a wisdom, a love, a sadness, a joy and much much more.
What I do find is that most poets never feel like their work is very good at all.  Not so!  Poetry is not something that anyone can judge as being good or bad.  It's an expression of the person who wrote it, it comes from their own inner feelings and experiences.  Like artwork, paintings are what the creator visualizes, so is the same with poetry.  How can anyone say it is wrong, without ever knowing the deepest feelings of the creator, at the time of creating their work?
I admire all that people write.  To be able to view inside their hearts and their heads, from the perspective at the time they wrote the poem, is really a wonderful visit.  I thank all poets for their courage in letting all of us into their thoughts and feelings, into their personal Expressions!

I also write poetry and shall share some with you as well.  Please, sit back and enjoy!

Echo

I am but a little child.
My age is only two.
No matter what I'm striving for
I must always look up to you.

And now my age is seven,
I care not of your pain,
'cause through my eyes there's only fun,
Like splashing barefoot in the rain!

Today I've turned thirteen years.
I've lost my love of toys.
My interests lie in fashion styles,
And my smiles are for the boys.

Now, eighteen years have passed me,
And we stare eye to eye.
I've reached the level of my life
Where I think I can touch the sky.

Twenty-five years enfold me.
I have babes of my own,
Then you look at me and whisper
About how much you think I've grown.

Thirty-six has come quickly.
My marriage is undone.
I wish that I was seven now,
So, out there, in the rain I'd run.

Forty-two, I'm told is good.
Life begins, so they say.
Yet, I wish that I were wiser,
Knowing what you knew in your day.

My hair is turning gray now.
I'm crossing fifty years,
And I wish that I were younger,
'cause, the young haven't many fears.

Sixty years have come and gone.
I've buried you away.
I find myself remembering
The youthful years that slipped away.

It's strange to be seventy.
When you were...that was "old",
And now I want my mama's arms
To help comfort me from the cold.

I'm eighty now and dieing.
I'm all alone inside.
My sons and daughters don't see me
'cause they think visiting hurts their pride.

They place the wreath beside me.
With tears they say good-bye;
And my heart goes out to touch them,
But can't, no matter how I try.

The minister says, "Ashes
To ashes, dust to dust.",
And the ECHO, it continues
Through each one's lifetime, it is thrust.

Team Spirit, what it means to me!

Team Spirit!

I often wonder why we join teams.  I guess some of us want the unity it brings, some of us want the chats in the message boards, some of us want the competition that it brings and some of us enjoy the quizzing challenges.  Some of us really like the whole package of things that Team Spirit so generously presents to us.

Personally, I joined a team  for the pleasure of taking part in  the overall Team Spirit, where all of the members of the team enjoy what they prefer and it's accepted by all.  Team spirit is sharing with each other, when there are wins and encouraging each other when there are losses.  It's growing close in friendships through getting to know each other on the team.  It's the absence of prejudice and the fellowship of love, respect and complete acceptance.

We are all here to take part in an adventure of fun and memories, making new friends, sharing with each other, it's Family!

I am very happy to be part of a great team that I truly love!  My good fortune, in finding this team, is a blessing that I am grateful for every day!
