Obscure Trivia Question of the Day 2

NOBODY GOT QUESTION NUMBER 1? Wow... well I won't give away the answer just yet. Here is today's obscure trivia question.

There was a video game called Obscure. What was the setting of the video game?

Not quite as obscure, but still hard. Good luck.

Obscure Trivia Question of the Day 1

From now on, each day I will post one question, alternating between geography and obscure. Here is today's question:

Using the diagram below:
Find the equation of the line that cuts through the lines so that on one of the lines, it creates a 120 degrees and a 60 degrees angle, and the line passes through the point (x,y), where x is the number of unique notes in the first four notes of Beethoven's 5th symphony, and y is the number of sides on an enneagon. Good luck!

Geography Question of the Day 11

Nobody answered yesterday's question but the answer was Toledo.

Here is today's question:

Find the approximate distance between the capitals of the first country in alphabetical order and the last country in alphabetical order.

Good luck!

And most of all, have fun!

Geography Question of the Day 10

Congratulations to deputygary, the first player to correctly answer question #9. The anwer to the question was Macedonia. Today's question has to do with the summer camp that I went to. Look back to question 8 to figure out what university the camp was at, and then find out what major city it is closest to. Here are some pictures from camp!

Have fun with today's question!

Geography Question of the Day 9

And the answer to Day 8's question was... drumroll please... Bowling Green State University! I guess I stumped everybody because nobody got the answer correct. Let's walk through the solution step by step.

Step 1: My profile picture was taken in Hong Kong. The other side of the world would be about the U.S.

Step 2: Grand Blanc, Michigan is about a 4 hour drive from Indiana, Ohio, and Illinois. So this narrows it down to those states.

Step 3: The quiz was title "Ohio, Round and About". So now you know that the state that I am traveling to is in Ohio.

Step 4: We know that I am going to Ohio, so when we plug in some names with the clues, we get:

Which of these cities is larger?
a. ***, Ohio
b. ***, Kentucky (Kentucky is known as the Bluegrass State.)
c. ***, Missouri (Missouri's capital, Jefferson City, is named after Thomas Jefferson.)
d. ***, Florida (Disney World is in Florida.)

The answer would be b. This was the key clue in figuring out the solution. First off, you know that this city is in each of these states, and you know that out of them, Kentucky was the largest. There is no Ashland in Florida, so the solution can not be Ashland. The answer to the city was Bowling Green. There is a Bowling Green in each of these states and the one in Kentucky is the largest.

Step 5: The name of the University shares its name with the name of the city. So we know that I am in fact, going to Bowling Green State University. You could also check your answer by typing Bowling Green into Google and the University should be the first search result. When you type in Ashland, the first search result is a chemical company.

Thanks to all who tried out the question though!

Here is a fairly simple question to leave with you today.

List the countries that fit all of  these descriptions:
- on the Balkan Peninsula
- former member of Yugoslavia
- member of the European Union
- capital is the largest city
- borders Greece
- member of NATO

Good luck!
