My Magpies!
We have been befreinded by a family of magpies over the last few days.. They probably keep coming back due to the fact that i've been feeding them with mince, much to the horror of Neil our cat who has reinvented her Evil Penguin persona as she sits in the front window tapping her paw. They are beautiful birds, and the female is becoming very trusting. If there's any Aussies reading this, it;s even funnier, as I am a Collingwood supporter.. for those who don't know, this particular football team are called the Magpies.. (the most hated team in Aussie Rules!) So, I named one Colin.. but then realised she was a she, so she;s now Colleen...haven't named the boys yet,,, yesterday she brought the family for the first time, 3 boys.. and there is also a twenty eight that sits in the jacaranda and stirs them up. Ahhh, the beauty of nature!
Not a lot else to report..next door hasn;t complained again, but we;re on again tonight, and Fridays are when he seems to get stuck in to the alcomohol a bit more than usual.. We are more than ready for him now..
Hope you like the picutres... take care campers..
Love Kells xx
Bring it On!!
Most of you, well some of you, well, at least 2 of you, know we have band nights at our place twice a week. Hardly ever been a problem.. the guy next door (the one with that awful snappy jack russell that sounds like it;s going to turn itself inside out when it barks..) has complained a few times when he;s tanked.. that;s about it in 8 years. OK.. so now, he;s been over and shut us down 2 out of the last 3 times.. Why? Why now, after 8 darned years? It;s not lke we're drunk and shouting in the street..throwing bottles and stuff... we play music, and ok, yes every now and then especially when we have someone new turn up, we can become a bit loud, but it's always turned down around 10 30 and unplugged by midnight on a Friday, 11 on a Tuesday. anyways, last week, the day before ANZAC day, which is a public holiday over here, was husbands' birthday, so we cranked it a bit. He was over getting all narky again, I was the only one plugged in, and all the boys were sitting in the room singing Stevie Ray songs. Bang bang on the door..(no, it's not the Love Shack..), so husband shut us down straight away. We always shut it down as soon as he staggers across the lawn. Unfortunately, I had imbibed maybe a tad too much, and screamed out, go call the police and see if we care. Very very grown up. He didn't..... yet. Last Friday he was out.. so we played, but Wonderboy was on vigilante mode, and kept up and down the street on his scooter, alerting us to when he came home. Even Tuesday we were very subdued..but tonight.. the gloves are off! We've decided that if he comes over, we will tell him to go to buggery.... (am I allowed tosay that?) Ok.. work this one out... he complains about the drums right.... WB had deadened them so much... they almost sound awful, but, his kid is out the back every and I mean every night, with his basketball shooting hoops til aafter 10 some times. Now my other neighbour.. asked us what the noise was.... even he can hear it. Why then does this not bother the moron next door.. If this ball is bouncing outside his living room... why the hell are our drums an issue?WB's theory is that he is just one of these people that doens't like hearing other people having a good time.. and we certainly do that...and he's out to shut us down. The Tuesday Night Club..(we had thename before Sheryl Crow) is an institution that is not going to go down just because of one idiot. I even went to the people on the corner, who have 2 young kids.... they actually thought we;d shut down, as they can;t hear us anymore.... just about everyone in htis street of 20 houses have dropped in to band night on more than one occassion... except them next door, and yes.. we have invited them before..So... if he comes over tonight... he;s in for a bit of a shock. No more bowing down... (I'll probably run and hide in the bathroom, as I hate confrontation... although depending on my alcomohol intake.. you never know) We have appointed a few of hte guys Security..(this is all done in jest, but, this guy is quite aggressive when he;s smashed... so we are prepared.) We have a one guy coming tonight who works away on the mines up north..he hasn;t been here for about 5 weeks now, so it;s going to be a good night. My Strat is restrung and ready to rock.. so Bring it On!!
Take care campers... until next time... and THERE WILL BE A NEXT TIME!!!! xxx
Final Picutres... sniff sniff
I feel like one of my dear friends have just told me they're moving forever. How very sad that the blogs have to go. Do they REALLY have to go? If there are only some of us, isn't it easier to look after...Is it worth grovelling to the powers that be? ISN'T THERE ANYTHING WE CAN DO??????? I love the blogs. I love reading about what's going on, I love looking at David;s beautiful photography, I love being able to show off my artwork.. I love being able to rant and rave to complete strangers and have them say just the right things that I need to hear at that time. I love being able to see pictures of Greebo, Indie's cat, or Ainenei's little boy all dressed up for his uncles' wedding. As the Nac Mac Feegles would say... "Waily waily waily".
Please Terry, reconsider??
Ok, enough waily waily... here are a couple of shots of the 'loo, taken last night. You can see the blue light misty effect, and the fountain thingy, jsut thought id share them with you... and, no, no one's peed in it yet!
Pictures of latest Masterpiece!!
Okay... i've been trying to put th ese up since yesterday, but for some reason, I haven't been able to get on here. Could be, that after what seems such a long time, well, it has been a long time.. we finally got some of the wet stuff from the sky yesterday. We got buckets and buckets of the wet stuff from the sky yesterday. Even the pool overflowed. It was great.. I sat and knitted (yeah I know I know..everybody gets a giggle out of that one. But, I love to knit when it rains.
Anyway... the history behind my wonderful toilet is this.. (I can say it;s wonderful.. got to blow wind up my own skirt occassionally... not that I ever wear a skirt... but, oh well, you know)
I've wanted to mosaic a loo for a long time now, and it happened that my neighbour was redoing his bathrooms. I'll have your toilets Johnny.. I told him.. his face was priceless... EEeeiiiuuww, he replied... it;s ok.. at least I know who;s peed and whatnotted in them, and bleach is a wonderful thing you know.. Gimme the toilets!! So.... one night husband comes home from work, and there is this pee stained loo sitting next to my work bench. He just shook his head and walked inside. Anyway... the best bit is... when Johnny went to put his NEW $250 loo in... he dropped in and cracked it. HA haahaaaaa!!! Kell... here.. have this one.. no one's even sat on it yet!! So.. I got rid of the used one, scored a brand new one... and did this with it!! The top is done in glass, just in case any of the guys get adventurous on band nights and try to wee in it.. they'll get more than circumsized!! (can I say that here?) and the rest is done in ceramic tiles. It tokk me 5 hours to grout it, but it was well worth it. Ok.... I can't quite position these buggers right. Oh well, and here;s one of the pool too.. all finished. Oh, well, at least I got that one in the right spot!!
take care campers,,,,, until next time... Love Kells xx
It's been a while...
Ok, so there;s not going to be anything riveting to read here... although it's been a while since checking in... not a lot has happened. The weekend before Easter, husband and I went to the West coast blues and roots festival which was held in Fremantle, over 2 days. We managed to go for the 2 days, and in this time, we managed to see some fantastic artists.... hear some great music, and rediscover how much we enjoy each other's company, especially without the kids. the funny thing was, with 20 000 people there, we managed to bump into everyone we knew that was there, and the first thing they all asked us was where was Wonderboy... he's not here, we replied.... Yeah right, they said,.... where is he? No, he;s not here... we're actually here just the two of us together... Naaah.... he;s here somewhere... you wouldn' t come to something like this and not bring him.... Parents of the year award part one...unbelievable...
so anyway... so many wonderful acts.... the highlights being Tony Joe White... he was so good... a lot of great Aussie acts... the Saturday highlight for us was Gomez by far.... finally got to see them... John Butler was great too... the highlight of Sunday, was that on Saturday, we found out that Gomez were doing a closed set, and to be there, you had to get therer early and register as there was only 150 people allowed in. We got there early, and got in. It was indescribable. Really.... they were just so good, they played a set for just over anhour, then came out and sat on the stage to answer questions from the crowd... I managed to conquer my crowd phobia, to get down the front...got some great pictures... It was such a great experience... what a great band. Of course... I also got to see my John Mayer.... and I must admit, he was a tad disappointing... only from the fact that he did all of his schmaltzy stuff... and no bluesy stuff. You can only take so much, body is a wonderland.... I was just wanting him to cut sick and do some of his Trio stuff....he tried to cut sick in Gravity, but he never really let himself go. I think everyone was just trying to get a peek at the girly he;s sleeping with at the moment... yes Jessica was there, allegedly dressed in not much,,,, and, let me tell you, it was bloody freezing by about 3pm. I layered up clothes wise.... husband was calling me Captain Sensible... as I had everything from headache tablets, to wet ones, and kleenex, eyedrops.... you name it, I had it packed... but at least I wasn't cold when all of these girlies were walking around shivering in their 4 inches of material that they chose to wear. I did manage to take about 70 photos of him, mostly from the big screen, but what i;ve done, is made a collage of all of his guitars he used. It turned out very nice I must say.... I should pull my finger out, and put a few more pics up here. I haven't done that for ages..
So, now we are back to school holidays.... oh joy.... the kids are already bored, and mortified that I actually want to go and see the Turtles movie....he does, she doesn't... she loses....
Oh, another highlight of the blues fest, was Robben Ford. My God, he was awesome.... can that boy play.... Bo Diddley was there too, as was Eric Burdon, Eugene Hideaway Bridges..(who actually played in our living room one night.. a friend brought him to band night.... we alll nearly died..)It was such a great weekend.
So campers, that is the update for the moment... I hope this finds you all well and happy... take care and stay safe....
love Kells xxxx
