Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance
Here's an explanation of the game. This has a lot of good information about the game.
First of all, it's not an expensive game, i got it used for $13.00 at Gamestop (one of my favorite stores).
You start out in Baldur's Gate. You can play as one of 3 characters: a human archer, dwarf, and an elven sorceress.
You can play 2 players simultaneously if you want which i think is more fun.
I picked the sorceress and she has some pretty helpful spells. As you gain levels, you get points which you can learn new moves/spells, upgrade moves/spells, and upgrade other necessities.
I'm only familiar with the dwarf's moves (my sister plays as him) and the sorceress' spells.
The Dwarf is very helpful and is extremely powerful at close range combat. There are many times in which i depend on my sister to take care of certain enemies. His moves to learn are basically different ways of using his axe or whatever he's equipped with (such as swinging it in a full circle or slamming it to the ground and doing damage to enemies within a certain radius)
The sorceress also does a lot of hand-to-hand combat, but her power depends on her weapon. She is better off using her spells at long range/medium range combat... especially against bosses. It's more dangerous to fight close range with her than with the dwarf, but it is needed. Some of her spells are fireball, acid arrow, burning hands (flamethrower from her hands), meteor swarm (one of the most powerful), and magic missile (one of the first spells and most helpful. It can't be upgraded using points, but as you gain levels).
Potions are VERY IMPORTANT in this game. Maybe I just suck at it, but as far as i know, potions are the only things that kept me going. They are easy to use (using the "R" or "L" buttons) to regenerate health and energy (to use those cool moves)
There is a wide variety of enemies and weapons/armor.
The only possible setback to this game is how long it is. I haven't beaten it yet so i don't know how long it is, but then again it seems like i haven't gotten very far. I believe it stops after Act III, which i'm on now. But I might be willing to play a second time.
I could have just copied and pasted information from ign.com, but what's the fun in that? Besides, it might be better to explain it in a more broad way from another player's point of view.
To get the details and pictures and all that stuff, you just have to find a website. Ign.com is a very informative one.
