Day 6.....Yikes!

I have two more days of smoking before I am supposed to be able to stop. I have to admit I am scared to do that, however, I have broken the habit of smoking while driving. I think about lighting up in the car but I just don't. So far I have cut down to a reasonable amount (for me) and I feel confident that if I can't quit completely in two days I am not going to give up. My appetite has increased but I'm trying to eat salads and fruit instead of brownies or ice cream. They say your body will think it's craving sugar but if you eat a salad the craving will be satisfied.

Two strange things I did this week. One, I woke up at 2:30 am and made a frozen chicken alfredo thing to eat and found out you won't feel so good in the morning if you eat a heavy meal in the middle of the night. The other thing was on Tuesday I noticed that some foods and drinks I used to like don't taste as good as they did before but other things taste better. Is it my mind? I don't know.

Anyway, I'm doing as well as can be expected, at least better than I expected I would. And I'm painting more and my house is cleaner than its ever been since I have to keep busy. Two more days.....OMG.

Quitting Smoking....Day Two

Today is the second day that I have been wearing a Zero Smoke magnet. It's a strange thing, you wear it on your left ear. Sometimes it feels very uncomfortable and other times you barely notice it's there. Supposedly it works by releasing endorphins in the brain (the same ones released by nicotine intake) and that way (they claim) you can quit smoking. I have to admit I kept smoking, as per instructions and I've already noticed a difference in the amount of cigarettes I have smoked since using this device. They claim if you continue to smoke as usual you will eventually be off cigarettes. It's a mighty powerful claim and if it works it's an amazing thing. The reason I decided to try this is because I don't think chewing gum or wearing a patch (which continues to introduce nicotine into the system) works. I mean, your body would still crave nicotine, also, I can't trust that I wouldn't smoke while using them. So for anyone out there who is interested in getting off nicotine I will keep you posted on how it's going and how it works for me.

Ok, I guess I'm not very good at Trivia. But, heck, I'll keep trying. The hardest part is the timer. It frazzles me. My keyboard is wireless so sometimes it won't work, which makes the timer more of a hazzard. I can't wait til I can write a quiz because I have so many ideas. I have already put some questions in my notepad to use in my first quiz. Anyway, I like this site and I'm having fun, I guess that's all that matters.
